Is there anyway I can make the screen stay on even when im not looking at it? And possibly a quick setting feature to do this. Thanks

Maybe there are apps that keep the screen on while showing some information.
But you should specify what you want to be shown on the screen.
I've answered this that many times to this question so if you would just search, you will find your answer to what you need.
Try the app called "Caffeine".

WidgetLocker has a setting so you would need to unlock the screen before answering or ignoring the call. not sure if is password enabled.
Best solution I have found thus far has been to insert my phone in my pocket
use the fingerprint scanner and adj settings
or dont have ya girl call when ya wife
is at home

I tried widget locker that doesn't support that feature even talked to developer they gave me refund. Even with fingerprint active it doesn't ask u to scan before answering unless um missing something .. hey gotta get this lock down these women be trying to get in my sh$#...

Tried data Defender? Might be able to lock down your Dialer?
Sent from my MB860 using xda premium
Use your phone immediately after eating chips and other oily food without washing your hands. Nobody would ever dare to touch your phone.
Source: Works for me!!!
Looked for defender nothing came up..its hard to believe that we can't stop people from answering are phone all this new teck and cannot do old simple things um bummed!

Meaning when I call a number and get an automated answering machine, I start entering numbers using my dial pad and the numbers don't show. I have to hide my dialer and bring it back and push some more numbers before my numbers come back. I done a couple of hard resets but problem keeps coming back. Any one else notice this out is it just me.

Does any one have any suggestions if this is only my phone and should I get it exchanged? I've done three hard resets and its fine then it keeps coming back to this.

Phone is still messed up

I think I have figured it out it only happens with developer options on.
Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk 2
Can any one try this, cause this only happens when I turn developer options on with transition turned off. Or is this only affecting my phone?

i haven't tried that because i don't use voicemail. but if disabling something in the developer's options will do the job, then i suggest you go with it. :fingers-crossed:
I try and making the phone faster by stopping the animations., which does speed the phone up but it gives me that dial pad issue. All in all just trying to figure if this is only my phone that is affecting, if so then I can return it for a new one. If not then there is no need to return the phone.(Basically trying to figure out if my phone is broken or not)

Please for the love of God can someone confirm this for me please.

For some reason I cannot get the eye gesture to work for scrolling Web pages any suggestions? Is there a distance you have to keep your fave from the screen?

You have to tilt the phone....and just hold it like if you were watching a portrait video.....speaking of which...
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET THE WHOLE LOOK AWAY PAUSE WORKING ON THIS PHONE?!?!?!?! Since day one I've been trying to get that to work and nothing....not one single time did that damn feature work....
I hope I helped @corybucher if so hit the thanks =) lol
P.S. corybucher ........this is in the wrong section...it's supposed to go in Q&A a mod will probably move you soon
believe the look away pause feature is only for the stock video player

The look away or "Smart Pause" feature also works in the youtube app. It worked for me without even trying and is definitely a cool feature to show off the s4. Just make sure you enable "Smart Pause" in the settings under settings, my device, smart screen.

Thanks figured it out.

Also helps to hole the phone still and level and tilt your whole head just a hair or the phone...

Smart pause gets insanely annoying when ur trying to show someone a YouTube video and it pauses everytime you turn the phone

Any way to get the scroll to work in all apps?

I may be missing it, but does anybody see an option that won't wake the screen when a new message comes in?

Dang, seriously? I guess I'm so used to rooted phones that I didn't realize that wasn't just a general setting. We need root bad.

For SMS/MMS, I installed Textra and turned off the native messaging app. Textra allows you to not wake up the screen in settings. Not exactly a fix, but I'm liking the app so far.

Hello again.
Not sure if this has already been discussed. Apologies if it was - I tried searching with Tapatalk but couldn't find anything.
I set my vibration settings to heartbeat but it doesn't seem to do anything. When notifications come through, I'm still getting the default long buzz. Anyone else run into this?

Hahaha yes I definitely am. It's sticking in terms of the option being persistent in the settings, but when it comes to it actually being used, I'm still getting the default long buzz. Will try a few of the other options and see what happens.

make your own one see if that sticks
Maybe this is a stupid question. Does the vibration pattern affect notifications or just the ringtone? I hate having such a long pulse for a short notification tone.
Apologies if it only affects the ringer. I'm just getting used to the Note 3. Can't wait for some good roms to come out for the Verizon version!
