Titanium schedules not running - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I'm on RR and for some reason the TB schedules does not autorun if I don't open the app manually first on every reboot.
Any workaround or cause?
Thanks.

Here's a log. I suspect the problem has something to do with permissions applied at boot, that's where the log come from, the app works fine manually once the device is fully booted

Make sure you disable battery optimization for both the Titanium Backup app and the TiBu Pro key app.

I don't have PRO or the key, and it is already out of the battery optimization.

Titanium backup after upgrade and crashes

So before I went to 2.2.2 I backed my data, now I have some annoying crashes. I first noticed my music app crashing, I deleted it and made a fresh install to fix that, then going over the rest of my apps I actually noticed quite a few that were crashing because of the restoring. My main issue is alarm clock. I restored my settings of stock clock app and now it crashes and I can't set the alarm anymore... I tried deleting stored data, but that didn't fix it for any of the apps that crash. Why is this happening and how do I fix it?
i use to use t backup but it never proberly worked for me for some reason so i did a bit of searching and i use mybackup its availble on the market hope that helps
I get this with many apps (not all) when I restore them using Titanium Backup. What I've found is if I just restore the app w/o data, they all seem to work fine. If I restore App+Data, that's when it crashes. Hope this helps you.
Titanium backup
I quit using app backups long ago... I prefer to download the apk to my computer and keep them on file.
If I have to do a flash or restore then I install manually and since then I have never had to worry about force closes.
The advantage to this is that I find myself much more familiar with my phone and what it does. Instead of having a bunch of programs that do the same thing, I have cut down on my app installs by half and now my phone is quicker and more intuitive
Yeah, I guess I need to switch back up app. Thanks for the tip about restoring just the app without data, that did in fact fix the problem.
Is there any way to fix my clock stock app? Titanium restores only data, so when I try to access the alarm, it crashes. Any way to reinstall it without factory reset?
cdzo72, Well, backup is more convenient, because it restores your settings as well.
agree sometimes backing up data aswell has strange results in the end

Titanium Backup to system app

The Titanium Backup Pro-version has an option to change application status from a user app to a system app and vice versa. But how can I make a TB itself into a system app? I want to do this in case of need for system factory reset. I had to factory reset my phone just a couple of hours ago, because I got it stuck so bad that I had to pull the battery out of it and when it restarted it had forgotten all the defaults and when asked about a launcher i chose Zeam and automaticly checked the option that said "use as default". Zeam then forceclosed and forceclosed and fc,fc,fc.... So basically I couldn't get anywhere. I managed to close phone and restart it, but now it remembered the defaults and opened Zeam force closing it time after another. I closed the phone again and went to CMW-recovery and wiped the caches and made a factory reset (maybe not a smartest solution, but I couldn't think of anything else). And then when opening the phone I noticed that some apps (E-mail, file manager, Talk, etc..) that aren't included in the custom ROM (void. (2.2.2; #eridanus)) but ones I had backupped from previous ROM and transfered to this were automaticly included, because when backupped, were saved as system apps and installed automaticly as such. So I went to Market and bought a Pro-version of TB and set some other apps(SlideIt keyboard) as a system ones in case I screw the phone up again, but I cant figure out how to make TB a system app itself, since then I wouldn't even have to go to Market to restore my phone in case of another factory reset.
All of the apps you downloaded will almost always placed in the folder /data/app Just use root explorer to copy the apk files there to a safe place for backup. The system apps will also be loaded during start up. They are located in /system/app You can read more in this forum in order to help yourself make progress in the learning path.

Got it, thanks!
Sent from my u8800 using XDA Premium App
Have you tried Links2SD, it also has super powers similar to Titanium Backup, and will allow you to change it from a system app to an user app, and then to uninstall it completely.

[Q] Titanium Backup Freeze Issue

I seem to be having an issue with freezing apps in Titanium Backup. All the usual things apply...rooted phone, pro version of TiBu. I can do all the other functions of TiBu as expected. However, when I freeze an app (either individually or in batch mode), the TiBu SAYS it freezes the app, and that it will not appear in my app list, but neither of those are true. The app never has the "defrost" button, nor do any apps show up when I filter for frozen apps. Also, the apps still show up and can run in the background or manually still. I came across this while trying to freeze my apps as suggested in the battery life thread.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
Are you rooted?
Did you allow Superuser access for TiBu?
I will go with the confident noob answer of yes! However I base that on TiBu telling me it has all that on its startup screen (everything has a green checkmark except Dropbox).
Startup screen reports version 4.6.5.1 Pro, root access, HyperShell, fast/auto app install, and SQLite. It shows external storage at /mnt/sdcard and it's directory on that card.
I am running stock 4.5.91 unlocked and rooted with Clemsyn's OC kernel set at 1GHz and some uc. I haven't seen any problems with other apps or system stability with that setup so far.

Titanium Backup Problems

I have a strange thing going on with Titanium Backup. Some specific apps cause TB to force close while backing up. They're random apps, such as NBA, Kik, Relay, and VSCO. When backing up all user apps, the first few apps backup fine, but when it gets to one of the apps listed above, it force closes. After attempting to delete all previous backups of those apps, the problem persists. There's an icon next to the app that causes the force close that seems to represent it not fully backing up [?]. This only has started to happen recently and I have no idea why it's happening. Possibly something is corrupt.
My problem is.... I use the "backup all app user" option, and it works but I cannot see the backup for app like Marvel Contest of Champions

Yes, I'm getting the same thing. Every time it happens I hit the report button, fill in "crash" then send. I started clicking on the "Backup / Restore" tab and then selecting "user apps" in the Click to Edit filters. Then go to Menu , Batch actions. From there pick " Backup new user apps & newer versions". Run it and it will run until crashes again. Report then go back into the app and repeat the procedure. Eventually you get the apps that don't crash backed up. Then go back to Batch actions under Menu, scroll down to the bottom and run "Trim backups whose history length is > 1". This will delete the partial corrupted backups that are a result of the crashes. This happening on all my devices on MM and LP.
Hopefully all the bug reports will lead to a solution.
Having the same thing happen here. It only started after I installed AOKP, though. Titanium worked fine on both stock and TruPure ROMs as far as I know. It's making it a real hassle to switch ROMs.
Same here on Oneplus 2 CM13 unofficial and Nexus 7 2013, Nexus 4 both CM13 snapshot.
Issue started from perhaps builds of 1 or 2 weeks before snapshot.
For me the list of apps which cannot backup is:
Call Recorder
Easychat
GMD Gesture Control
Plus Messenger
TouchPal
But it OK if I restore app data use nandroid backup from these apps.
I've had nothing but Titanium Backup issues for the last couple months on various ROM's. I do use my external SD.
But I've now got them resolved by following a few steps on TB's troubleshooting website:
http://www.titaniumtrack.com/kb/titanium-backup-kb/titanium-backup-troubleshooting.html
Specifically, step 31 on that page is what finally fixed all my various issues (so far).
For apps crashing TB, I had to wipe data on those apps, delete the old backups, then back the apps up again AFTER doing step 31 above.
And so far, my four new TB restores after flashing new AOSP ROM builds have been flawless since then.
Update 7.3.0.2 fixed FC issue during backup certain apps for me.
• Fixed FC when changing the backups folder location, if DocumentsProvider denies TB access to the previous location.
• Fixed FC during app backup on some platforms.
• Major translation updates.

Titanium Backup Restore ist not working from Nougat to Oreo Rom

Hi
i´m facing a problem whith Titanium Backup.
I backuped my apps under Nougat LOS14.1 , which i wanted to take with to any Oreo Rom.
after flashing of several Oreo Roms , i didn´t get any App to restore under Oreo.
Titanium Restore still stand 0% and did not anything.
Is this a known Problem, that Apps from Nougat can not restored under Oreo?
Not a known problem that I know of. Well, used to be. When going from Marshmallow to Nougat.
I use TiBu on all Oreo ROMs. Originally anything restored was from Nougat backups.
I take it you're only trying to restore some user apps. No system apps which is a bad idea. Also, not sure if Oreo's change in the naming of items in /data/app/ have any bearing. Maybe not. TiBu would just dump the restored apks there instead of in subdirectories.
If possible, I would suggest installing the apps normally (Play Store, apk, etc.) then restore the data with TiBu. Some apps can be easily reconfigured so it's best to be selective.
Another issue you might come across is device ID. Has Titanium Backup shown a dialog about the backups being from a different device ID? If so, normally you can choose the previous and be good, otherwise data might not restore.
Oreo has changed how it deals with Device ID. TiBu can't make the change. Existing device ID changing tools don't work either.
This one does, on a per app basis...

If you get everything squared away and data restored onto Oreo, create a different Oreo-only backup destination.
Moto G5S Plus XT1806, AOSiP 8.1 ROM, microG (NoGapps), MultiROM, Tapatalk 4.9.5
no dialog about different Device ID
i tried only User Apps to restore, no System Apps
the way with only App Data is a good advice , i will give it a try

The auto install mode on titanium. Backup doesn't work on Oreo, U need to change that to Interactive ( Preferences> App processing mode) change from auto to Interactive, But this will ask install permission per app which can be a lengthy process especially if u have large no. Apps to restore but something is better than nothing
I've had no trouble whatsoever restoring apps and their data with TiBu. But I only restored user apps. Could have something to do with your root solution, probably Magisk. Or SELinux interfering. I use SuperSU on Oreo and all root apps work as expected.
I have TB example in latest AEX. Installed new version of google play services, and it was FCing. I tried to restore previous version from TB, and it did it, at least I thought so. TB didn't give any error message. When I looked in settings>apps and the version of GPServices was not the one from TB, but the one that was giving me problems. Eventually I manually installed the proper version of GPServices. I suspect it could be Magisk 16.0, which is what I am using for root. Non system apps get restored correctly.
