I'm having an issue with one of the lockscreen icons. I'm using Textra as my default messaging app and it's in my launch bar (Nova Launcher) Whenever i look at the lockscreen, the default messaging app is there and not Textra. Can anyone confirm they are having this issue also.
Replace messages with textra on the sense launch bar and it will be on your lockscreen.

Did that, no go.
I'm unlocked, rooted and running LeeDroid rom. Working for me. I put the textra in the dock on sense home and use apex launcher and it's a shortcut on my lockscreen.

Got it to work. Had to switch back to sense then remove messages and add textra. Thanks.
That's the ticket. Glad you got it sorted.

Ive uninstalled handcent
ive tried uninstalling the default messaging app
Ive reflashed and rerooted

any ideas?
Do not uninstall the default messaging app, all messaging apps require that.
Just with a basic flash, test your text and see if you get a notification, you should.
Now disable default notification and send a text, you should not get anything.
Now put on your theme and send yourself a text. What do you get?
Now put on Handcent and send yourself a text, what do you get?

lol...idiot...you were standing next to me when we figured it out.
and yes it was BEAUTIFUL WIDGETS
Hey guys,
Apologies if this isn't the right spot for this thread, please let me know if that's the case.
I've done some googling and found people who were able to set the messages icon shortcut so that it launched handcent. But it seems that those were all on the Nexus One. Has anyone done this on the EVO? How?
Thanks so much! I don't really care for the Handcent icon.
so you want to use the standard messaging icon but launch handcent with it? Just trying to clear up the issue.
Im using fresh rom and i have launcher, i used their icon for handcent in the launcher bar. Prob doesnt help you though.
Better Cut
Thanks. I tried that but it kept fc'ing. Tried any cut and I'm halfway there. Changed the name but not the icon.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but with LauncherPro you can customize the five shortcuts (phone, contacts, apps, messaging and web) on the bottom toolbar. You can simply hold down the messaging shortcut and link it to handcent while keeping the appearance of the icon itself unchanged.
ok I have LauncherPro but when I do a long press on the messaging shortcut it does not have handcent as an option. Thoughts?
Actually, I found some inconsistencies with BetterCut. You should try FolderOrganizer instead.

At first I didn't think FolderOrganizer was going to do what I wanted, but I figured it out. However I had to use one of FolderOrganizer's icons for the messages, I couldn't find how to make the default icon work?
Thanks for the recommendation guys!

alittle feature my girl showed me about launcher pro is that you can have up to 15 shortcuts on the bottom by scrolling left to right

certain launchers will have them. mostly paid versions. their are apps like notifier apps that put the badges their or a pop up notification like the iphone pop ups. them also look like the iphone app icons, maybe golauncher has the badges and a theme for the icons
and i think their called notification badges.
I know Nova Launcher Prime has that feature with the TeslaUnread app.

Can't you just do a little bit of thinking/reading for yourself? It even has the process in the app description!
Anyway, buy Nova Launcher Prime or WidgetLocker (it won't work without one of these) then install Tesla unread. After that, enable TeslaUnread in Nova Launcher or WidgetLocker Settings > Unread Counts.
So, I am currently root Stock on my device. I like Touchwiz, but would prefer the ability to theme with a launcher, such as Nova. As stupid as it sounds, what has kept me from it is the visual notifications TW offeres with Email/TXT/Calls..etc on the icons themselves. What I mean is that, if I were to receive a txt, there would be a "1" in a bubble over my messaging icon. Same with email, missed calls..etc I work in a louder area so I do somewhat rely on it.
When I enable Nova, this does not happen. Anyone know a fix or if there is a setting in Nova?
Thanks Again!

Looks interesting. Gracias sir I shall give it a shot.
I use it in stand-alone mode with the samsung messaging app disabled, but if you want to leave it on in default you can avoid the double notifications by unchecking show notifications for the samsung messaging app
