Hello! The last OTA update was 12.1-YOG4PAS7DF and everything about it is fine except for 1 thing, the heating issue (well, for me). I don't really know how hot it is but when I'm using wifi for facebook, youtube, etc. , the screen gets warm easily. Anyone got the same issue as mine? Maybe an update will fix it but it's been too long. I'd like to flash some custom roms but I got this wifi connectivity problem with my old phone when I flash a cm13 rom and I'm scared it might happen again.
That's the last i've got too. With last security patch 1 April 2016. I can relate to the heating problem.
But now, when i go to SystemUpdates, i get this message: "WARNING: Update Cyanogen recovery is disabled. This may cause issues with updating your device. Please enable Update Cyanogen recovery in developer options". I'm wondering if this will uphold future OTA updates.
Cheers, Miche

AS say, you need to enable recovery update on Developers options.. If not have DOpt enabled you need to go Settings, select About phone, Tap the Build number entry seven times. On the seventh tap, you will be notified that "You are now a developer."

Do you mean that if i don't, i won't get any updates? Is there any other reason i need to be a developer (as a regular user)?

Not only do i have heating issues but my wifi indicator goes funny showing some kind of breaks between it like an exclamation mark and i would have to use 4g instead because wifi wont work. This phone was perfect before the last 2 - 3 updates now, i am contemplating a wipe and see if that helps. i would use one of the custom roms, but i have apps that are not rooted firmware friendly like the barclays app which is very important to me.
I also facing same issue when using wifi
Mobile so heating problems hw to control heating problem and net connect when mobile is so heating
I have 2x ZUK Z1's both running on stock COS 12.1 latest version and none of them are having heating issues or unstable connections...
I am also facing the same problem my phone getting heat without any use. and battery also consume for the same ..please help out me for the solving heating problem.

After installing the update, you can confirm a successful update by confirming the Software number (From the Home Screen go to MENU> Settings> About Phone> Software Information> Software number). I have just installed it and not noticed any difference (though my phone does not suffer with the proximity sensor problem reported by some)

I've also not yet had a problem with the proxy sensor. My old version was 1.28.405.1 so i'm just updating now.
Cant seem to download this - am totally new to Smartphones - would I just download this to my PC or is there some other process ??
@crossbox : Goto > Settings > About phone > System software updates.
It is best to update via wifi for fastest download, once downloaded, select install.
phone will reboot, can take a little while to reboot so makes sure you let it restart by itself.
Brilliant - thanks
Don't know why they don't have those instructions on the HTC page - fools
When i update my phone turns off and stays off . it doesn't restart
any ideas??
just updated 1mon ago.
the process is simple, as usual, the key is always " DONT PANIC!"
go to manu - setting - about phone - system software updates - check now, and follow the on screen instruction.
The phone will restart a few times showing different screens, sometimes it looks like the phone is dead but its actually installing the update at background. during this process:
Dont remove the battery,
Dont force restart,
Dont press random keys,
and DONT PANIC!
the phone will do a full restart at the end of it and show up an system notification that the software has been upated to version 1.32.405.3

i know how the process works i have done it many times in the past. when the phone restarts it just stays off, i've left it for over 20mins and nothing. I have a feeling its because the phone is locked to tmobile.
Hey guys,
My phone had problems answering calls when i picked the phone from my pocket, it would either hang people up or make the screen disfunctioning, and make it impossible to slide the bar up or down.
after the update tried it a couple of times and the problem seems to be fixed!
I've also got a T-Mobile locked device and I can't install the update either. Annoying.
This is the first thing I am going to do when I finally get my phone on Monday.
I too am locked to T-mobile UK and the update worked a treat for me - incidentally HTC sense.com wasnt working very well prior to the update but its now working a treat
I updated aswell. Only diffrence Id seen, higher fps in benchmarks
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Update worked fine for me, I didn't have the proximity issue in the first place though. My device was T-Mobile locked but I've unlocked it before the update.
Managed to install it but i had to do a hard factory reset, then installed it and everything works fine now.
Bit of a farce to get it installed on mine in the end. Created a goldcard and manually installed it using the recovery menu in the bootloader. Worked a treat.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I've uploaded here last OTA firmware update from HTC.
Maybe someone can use it.
http://www.multiupload.com/ES8NQBUFD7
Could someone answer these two questions please?
(1) Will it install for 3 UK phones?
(2) What's better after applying this software update? Battery?
Thanks

Sounds like proximity sensor and MMS issues were solved.
Its been almost a month that i updated to 4.3 build JWR66Y and then
1. I started facing automatic reboots frequently, for no apparant reason. I uninstalled all the apps i previously had except all the stock apps and facebook, but to no avail.
2. The second problem I face since the 4.2 update was lag in camera and dissapeareance of the camera settings button alltogether sometimes while in use.
3. I hear the sound of "how magnetic speakers make in presence of a cellphone while on a call(using the network)" on my earphones when i connect it to my nexus 4.
anyone noticed this? and it is quite annoying and surprising
[P.S refer to the ringtone "spagnola orchestration' on nexus 4 for the sound I am refering to]
4. 'Call drops' which is really frustrating. and i changed my network but still the problem exist. - this is the worst bug that a company like google has for a Nexus.
5. sometimes when there is a loss of network, and i search manually it shows an eror - "error searching for network".
Does anyone else face these problems? pls give me solutions for these.
I am on stock ROM, unrooted.

How did u update the rom? I imagine by OTA, right?
My suggestion is to reflash factory image using any guide here. It is very simple and it lasts 5 min. U shouldn't have this problems
If this persist, go back to 4.2.2.

[Q] Wifi Issue with LG-D802
Hi all
Few days ago i receive my G2 and quickly updated to android Kitkat (Never experiencing Jellybean on this phone before),
I started to have some issues with the wifi. The wifi appears to be connected but sometimes there is no data transfer and wifi automatically disconnect even in the strongest signal area (the router is just below my desk of my phone) and the wifi settings was still turned on.
This occurs with every router from normal to the strongest connection.
Besides the connection drops also occurs on this phone which there is no internet connection even when the wifi is connected
So is this the wireless hardware issue or anyone experienced this before? Would like some suggestion please, Thanks!
So... just to make sure, you are running the default/stock ROM with OTA update to Android KitKat right? I am currently running CM11 nightly, and sometimes it has issues with connectivity (wifi/LTE). Let me know.

Yes it is running stock LG rom at 4.4.2
Here is what i would try:
1. Try resetting the phone to see if the errors go away. Maybe something went wrong while upgrading
2. If the problem still persists, and you are expert at ROMing - try installing a different ROM to see if this is related to LG's ROM.
3. Get a replacement if under warranty.
Just to let you know, KitKat does have some wifi issues. Some people are reporting issues with 4.4.2 and not with 4.2.2.
Hope that helps.

I have reset the phone after i face the problem after the first day of use. However it does still appear but not in a very frequent like minute or hour basis. The connection drop and wifi disconnects occurs randomly during normal browsing/playstore/ social apps activities. I guess it was very hard to get for replacement under warranty if the problem was not really significant (occurs 2-4 times per day) although it is still under warranty coverage.
Thanks for your advice, i am currently looking towards in accessing device debug log to try to proof them there is something wrong with the wifi on the phone.
For me the same problem happened and i found out the solution by lowering the band of rounter to 54mbps only
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
it happens randomly without any warning, once the battery percentage reaches x6% (16,26, 36, 46,...etc) it shows low battery warning (orange bars on top and bottom) and just turn off, (it's currently showing charging because i connected the phone to a charger to turn it on, otherwise it would turn off again once turned on), this happens more commonly and fast when using the camera or any app the uses the camera as its main source like Instagram and Instagram stories, Snapchat)

There are several threads about a battery issue like this one in Q&A section https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/sudden-shutdown-t3842810
Maybe you have a similar issue, but not with complete shutdown or random reboot

i'm not risking a reset or flashing a rom (i'm using stock rom) and have my phone damaged, because yea i've seen people doing that they lose features and issue is not solved

What features have you seen people losing which have not been solved yet?
A reset can always help to determine whether its a software issue or hardware issue.

well... they lose fingeprint option, they lost IMEI numbers, the phone becomes "uncertified" on play store, not receiving future updates, going to back to a way old security patch (just yesterday i saw someone reset their G5s device and the security patch went back to Nov 2017), and i've seen many people done factory reset to fix battery issues but it's not solved

Fingerprint problem is seen after using blankflash (idk about any other fingerprint related issue) and is fixed for most of the users. Blankflash needs to be used after getting device hardbricked i.e while trying downgrading bootloader of Stock ROM and then using OTA.
Downgrade is never ever recommended.
IMEI problem can be fixed for every device (unless they do something stupid like restore some other device's "persist" in their device without a copy of their own "persist" which is unique to every device)
Backing up efs via TWRP (which in turns backs up persist too) is a notice that every dev has given to follow, its just a consequence of not following instructions.
Play Store uncertified is while using Custom ROMs and if its while using Stock ROM (have been for a very few cases) a Stock ROM flash via fastboot resolves it.
I do not know about the last two problems which you mentioned, but Security patch changes by flashing a ROM (Stock or Custom)
People who have done factory reset but it didn't resolve battery problem, well a Stock ROM flash via fastboot can always help and if still the problem continues, then its a most probably a hardware issue.
Thank you for letting me know about these, I didn't knew about security patch change on factory reseting, and also sorry if I sounded rude earlier, it was intended
The last update is horrible! I am experiencing the following issues. I have been a long time user due of OnePlus phones due to the fast software and generally being bloat-free. Now they have published software with major problems and the stuff with forcing the "Red Cable Club" functionality to some users is just horrible. What is this crap? Why can't their engineers spot these problems a power users can spot in a few days of usage?
I hope they will fix these issues fast, or I will have to look for another phone. Maybe the Google Pixels are fast and bloat-free?
Random FPS drop
The FPS of the phone can randomly drop to about 10. Happens every few days and a reboot fixes this.
Wifi problems
5 GHz wifi seems not to be working properly. Random connection drops.
Proximity sensor always on
Every few days (probably related to making calls) it happens that the proximity sensor still thinks its in a call. It will turn of the screen if my finger passes over the sensor, regardless of what I am doing on the phone.
Vibrating notifications in silent mode
For some notifications, the phone has started to vibrate. Even though I always have the switch in the silent mode setting.
Hi.
- The "Red Cable Club" seems to be only for Indian users, I think you cand disable that app using ADB.
- The performance problems are there since the first beta of 10, with the passing of the updates the performance has been improving but it's still far from Pie (This isn't something specific of this device, even users of the 7 series suffer this problem).
- With 10 and 10.3.0 I had problems with the 5 GHz connection, but it's working fine with 10.3.1.
- In relation to the last two problems, I've never had them.
No problems here. Make sure you have updated to 10.3.1

Fairly new to rooting (again) - I have a OPO6T rooted, with Magisk and TWRP installed running on 10.3.0. Can you point me to how I can update to 10.3.1 please?
My data speeds have been ATROCIOUS since unlocking Tmobile and rooting.
-horrible data speeds on network
-spotty wifi connections
-unable to use data during phone calls while on network (wifi is ok)
-constant taking screenshots (never had this before, buttons havent moved, what changed?)
I started with 10.3.0 and I am now on 10.3.1 and having the same issues.
And, I have another phone (Honor 6x), also with Tmobile and the data speed is much better than the OP6t.
Help. Phone data is almost unbearable anymore.

Hello buddy, i followed those steps..
1. Download 10.3.1 and copy to the main folder of your phone.
2. Download latest @mauronofrio 's twrp zip (3.3.1-31) and copy it somewhere into your phone...
3 Delete all your security stuff such as fingerprints, passwords, etc...
4. Open Magisk and untick all your modules, delete stuff like substratum, reboot...
5. Launch your 10.3.1 update via local, when finished don't reboot...
6. Open Magisk, tap modules, tap plus icon ( + ), select @mauronofrio 's twrp zip, let it flash (yes like a module), don't reboot...
7. Be sure you're connected to the internet, be in the main menu of Magisk, tap install, again install and install into the inactive slot (after OTA).
8. Reboot your device, let it sit for a while and re-set all your stuff.
9. Done, enjoy your new system...
Cheers

1. Where am I downloading 10.3.1 from? I can only see 10.3.0 on the Official Oneplus site.
2. Does the above wipe all my apps and data?

It's not random, it appears briefly each time you install or update an app. I don't see why people are so upset by this thing that lasts 5 secondes.
Face unlock has so far failed to work on android 10 for me - I can setup the face, but unlock never works.
Did a full fresh install - not an upgrade.

Ranting here about OnePlus has strictly no effect, is totally useless. If you're upset enough consider changing your phone instead. Believe me the are many more serious things in life than being that upset for minor things.... Take a breath.
Plus the Fact that OnePlus despite all it's fault, is one of the Fastest OEM's to push out OTA's after Pixel and Essential. They are also the one that provide the longest support (3 years for the OP3 & 3T) and have arguably the best Software Skin, even better than Stock Android on Pixels. Their phones remain fast and snappy in the long run and did I mention they are almost half the Price of Modern Flagships? For me, OOS is alone enough to buy OnePlus phones. Now, regarding your "issues", OnePlus did push out a Hasty update but to their Credit they have been trying to fix it. If you are not satisfied with the Quality then you can either wait or as suggested previously, change your phone to either the 7 or 8 Series or another OEM altogether.
