Hi,
Since few days I am facing a unique problem with my Note 3 N9005 phone. The screen background show a very light but permanent Charging Icon (Flash icon) and it is visible in all apps with white or whitish background. The more strange thing is that when I tried to take a screenshot and attach it here, the screenshot did not contained the charging icon which is permanently there all the time.
Can anyone please help how to get rid of this annoying flash/charging icon?
Android version: 5.0 lollypop
thanks,

What about screen timeout, I can set it to 10 minutes at maximum. Does it matter, do I need to check for it and make sure that screen does not sleep?

thank you, i have posted my thread over there
mods should close and/or move this thread.
Welll... there are apps to set your screen timeout for infinite or at least several hours long, try them then open a completly white image, and watch out: there should be NO other things on screen at this time. No statusbar... no navbar... no messages... NOTHING, just the pure white image

Try holding down on the icons and moving them. If you can, remove them from the screen and re add them. If not, try disabling any xposed modules (if you have any that could effect the home screen) and look at it again. I don't personally use the touchwiz launcher and this never happened to me, so these are just guesses. Also, I noticed you have a strange colored Google app in your bottom bar. Did you do anything to the icon, and if so did you possibly break other icons while doing it?

I did factory reset my phone and still see these , is there any software to fix that or this is a hardware issue .
is this called a burn-in issue or it is called some thing else .
thanks for replying .
Are those applications actually there software wise? If not, then it would be a burn-in, where the screen has the images "burned in" and can't be removed. If they are there you could try flashing a stock tar using Odin for whatever build you want.

yes , they are software wise and if you look very good in the pic you can notice the whatsapp shadow on the screen , also I had flashed the stock.tar odin rom many times and they are still there , if this case is a burn-in issue what software would you suggest to fix because I tried all the softwares on the playstore and they didn't help .
thanks

The only other thing I can suggest is to take your phone to Verizon and see what they can do. They might have to replace it.
having same issue in MotoG3
I got this phone(MotoG3) 15 days back, it worked fine for a few days and suddenly I noticed that a "Whats app Shadow" is coming on my home-screen, it was hardly noticeable at first but then it became darker and darker, I replaced the phone thinking it might be a software issue, and got the same handset today itself, it worked fine but again as I installed whats app the same shadow problem appeared, I uninstalled it and it started to work properly. Am not sure where is the problem, so please help me out.
About the shadow issue:
The home screen of whats app appears in my wallpaper and also above all the other apps, a transparent shadow kinda thingy, I hope you people got what am trying to say.
Thank You
I also have the same issue on my redmi note 8 but in my phone i doesn't shows the shadow of the icon but but the shadow off appa inside when I use anh app
I have the same issue on my Pixel; the shadow apps aren't directly on my home screen, but when apps are opened. Perhaps due to Google system.
Hi guys.
I'm not sure if anyone noticed this, but whenever I set a wallpaper, it gets dimmed as if some kind of an overlay or a filter is applied to it. From what I read on Google, it is a common thing for Huawei.
However, nobody seems to have a solution. Does anyone here know something. It really drives me crazy since I can't set a white or light wallpaper.
Thanks a bunch.

No, BUT! I know it starts just after boot-up, so it has to be a small app or a process. Since I'm not rooted, can't do anything about it. Are you rooted?

A program called : SB WALLPAPER CHANGER fixes it but in alarm and dial app it messes up the background blur ... Try it and give me a reply . I haven't used it in 2 months , maybe they have fixed it !
It messes the background blur when you are in a call or when you are setting an alarm . See the image . In settings app go into portrait - fix image ( no scroll ) and in the bottom go and select your image . and then go back and set it as a wallpaper from the app .
Not sure if this is the answer but...
I close all apps runnig on background and the dim wallpaper went back to normal inmediatly. Maybe is a battery saving action when to many apps are running at the same time.
Hope it helps!
Never had this issue
Hi,
My second screen app icons periodically get really small (and kinda ugly) for no apparent reason. Then they get back to normal size also rather randomly. One way to get them back to normal is to turn off and on app icons.
I have no idea why this happens, and I don't even know how to take a screenshot of the second screen to show what it looks like.
Details: LG H990ds. Sept 2017 Android 7 running. Unrooted.

I am working on mods for second screen(currently have partial text color control) and would like to see what your talking about?
This post has instructions for added Second screen to screenshots.
Also, it seems like I may have seen a setting for on/off app icons, but can't recall where?
Install another theme.this is unofficial themes issue.

The pictures look the same to me only the second one is slightly closer?
What is this potato you speak of? Haha
This is 100% a theming property. I wouldn't really say "issue" or "error" as much as I would say mistake, and that's o lt in the eye of the beholder.
This is a value setting within the theme itself.
The themer has set the theme to draw app icons on top of a series of backgrounds and they set the icon to be drawn at a percentage of the default app icon.
What I'm saying is the theme will, in this case, reduce the app icon to a smaller size then place it on top of one of the themes bg's.
Some icons have bg's as part of the actual app icon and some have only the icon (see attatched samples). Obviously icons that do not have a bg will blend into themes easier because the themes bg option will look more intended.
There are several options to fix this, but only one being easy.
1. The easy one does not get to keep the theme, you must change the theme to something that is visually acceptable to you
2. This is an option for users that have some experiance swapping images in an apk. Find the app which has an icon you don't like and use 7zip to open the apk and swap the image for one that appeals to your taste. Problem here is that thing can get overridden every time the apps gets updates. This can also trigger package errors due to signatures values and changes from original size.
3. Knowledge or modding a decompiles apk using apktool is required for this one.
Located the themes common.apk and decompile it.
Within the decompiled folders you will find a values folder, open the integer.xml and change this value to the value that fits your needs best (100 being 100% or the full original size) <integer name="config_icon_ratio_as_theme">65</integer>.
There are other ways that can do what you are wanting done, you just have to get creative with it!
You ask "how to take screenshots or second screen? You've asked this question twice now, obviously without reading the reply to the question the first time.
I persoanlly answered the question by pointing you to the link where you have options on how to add the feature you want.
This is a development community and i suggest spending a little more time reading and you'd be surprised with gow much you can find by doing a quick search.
So in summary, change you theme or learn to edit decompiled app with apktool.
Read every reply ro questions you ask so you and the people who take the time out of their days to answer you don't have to repeat themselves.
Hit the thanks button to post that givd you info that helps.
Good luck, good day and hope that sums up your question here

The problem is, this size keeps changing randomly. I haven't changed the theme in 2 months, but the size switches between the correct size and the tiny one every few days. The theme itself is the 'Default Black' theme that came with the phone.

I saw the comment, replied to the first part but happened to miss that part out. Thanks for that.
Attaching clearer pics to demonstrate the size difference.
Again it doesn't happen when the theme is applied. The theme has been applied from the beginning.. It's the dark one that came with the phone.. The problem comes and goes randomly.
Same here! Usually it happens when I've moved around an app icon, doesn't matter if it's moved onto the second screen or onto a homescreen.
A restart usually resets the size to normal.
u/stangdriver44 u/3mL : I have found the reason for this.
It's due to the modification of DPI I did on the main screen. It seems this setting is inherited by the second screen off and on. I just reduced my DPI further to 400 and the second screen icons got even smaller.
Others have also reported this issue. (As on this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/lgv20/comm...e_the_size_of_the_navigation_buttons/dnj6dko/)
Is there a way to de-link the DPI of the second screen with that of the first?
Im trying to reduce the size of those buttons, can youpeovide the dpi and resolution that you are at?

The one in the photo was at 420. I'm currently at 400, which makes for some really tiny icons.
EDIT: please note, that this resizing isn't constant, it gets turned on and off like a boolean such that sometimes it stays small, then returns to normal for a while.

Hey guys,
I was wondering if it was possible to modify the existing AOD for more options.
For example: I couldn't care less about the clock, I'm wearing and using a watch anyway.
It would be nice if one could lay his smartphone onto the table with it beeing completly black except when you have notifications.
Something like in the picture I've quickly put together.
http://www.directupload.net/file/d/4959/6ckdllab_png.htm
Are there any roms which support this? Is it even possible to modify the Samsung AOD in that way or would one have to write a new app?
For now im using a black screen with the LED but that's suboptimal.
Thank you very much,
Chilz0r

Yeah I just took any picture on the internet and photoshopped it to show what I'm looking for.
This ambient display feature would be perfect if it would use the advantages of the S8 Display,
meaning lighting up particular pixels the whole time and not areas of the screen for a small time.

But I'm curious now: would it be reasonable trying to programm such an app oneself,
or alternatively is it possible to get the Samsung AOD code to modify it?

This isn't bad if you try to build such app but AFAIK and untill now, it is nearly impossible to build such app. You probably won't get exact source code for AOD because most things are hard-coded. Even, if you manage to get code, modify it and build your desired app it will be hard or impossible to install it over pre-installed AOD app. Kind of complicated, but you can still try, maybe you end up being Samsung hero.
