#1: you cannot un-trip knox.
#2: you do not have to un-root the phone either.
Your warranty will still be good, just do a "Factory Data Reset"
which is under the phones settings.
By doing a factory data reset the phone will no longer be rooted
and any apps which you have installed will be wiped out.
A Factory Data Reset will also wipe all your personal info like your
music, pictures, video and passwords as well.
Good luck,
Have a great day!

Hey guys,
so I wanna factory reset my note 3 N9005 Stock TW:
My phone is rooted with Towelroot but still runs the Stock Touchwiz Kitkat which the phone was released with.
I wanna know what happens if I factory reset my phone from the config. Does it still gonna be rooted afterwards?
And if so, how do I unroot it?
It's still Knox 0x0 and showing official status, and I dont wanna change that.
Appreciate your help!

Use Full UNROOT option in supersu. Factory Reset and done.
My new note 3 turned out to be buggy and broken. Constantly freezing and resetting. I need to return it but I rooted it with towel root and am uncertain on how to unroot and reset the Knox trigger. Help would be appreciated!

Nothing in the world will reset the knox warranty fuse. It's an electronic fuse and once blown...the entire chipset (in other words...the whole motherboard) needs replaced

You can Odin the NC 4 tar found here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2524572. Towel root does not trip the Knox counter so you should be ok
I currently have a droid razr m with an unlocked bootloader 4.4.2 stock Kitkat.
My question is, can I factory reset within settings menu? Will this brick the phone?
If I shouldn't factory reset with the settings menu, what is the best way to factory reset the phone? I am somewhat new to this scene. I just want to factory reset the stock kitkat that came with the phone.
Thanks in advance.
Personally, I think the best option for FDR is doing it in recovery.

Hello,
I just upgraded my demo unit of Note 4 (SM-N910F) to Lollipop 5.0.1.
Now I want to hard reset the unit. I get the message: "MDM does not allow factory reset". I have tried using the CF-Auto-Unit without luck.
How can I reset it?
Thx!
A quick search on Google learned me that this is most likely because it is a demo unit and Samsung does not like you resetting a specially prepared unit.
See also this topic I found http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56458874 ...
Seems like rooting and installing a custom recovery is the best way to go for you, or you could just ask Samsung very nicely

I think I have to wait for a correct Lollipop version for CF-Auto-Root before I can continue.
And yes I agree, I don't think that Samsung want me to do it.

What if we go back to stock recovery does it show again the same message when we factory reset mdm not allow to reset is there any permenent solution.
MDM denies factory reset? Install "RETAIL MODE", uninstall, and try again.

Guys, I'm *WAY LATE* on this, but maybe it'll help someone else. I've got a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900V that has the "MDM Deny" problem -- it seems to have been a demo unit flashed to 5.0 and then sold. I fixed this problem without rooting by (of all things) installing the "US GALAXY NOTE 3 RETAIL MODE" from the Play Store. [Note: THIS IS THE STORE LOCKDOWN APP.) After installing, I ran it BUT DIDN'T ENTER THE PASSWORD TO ACTIVATE, and then canceled. The service was still running in the pull-down window; I clicked on it to disable and then uninstalled the app.
The upshot of this was: next time I attempted to reset the MDM denial was gone and I was able to reset successfully. If you're trying to get root and can't do a factory reset in order to get there from here, try this.
Hello,
I have a note 4 (Italian) blocked on the lockscreen.
after updating to 5.1 lollipopop (samsung official update via wifi),
the fingerprint reader has started to give some problems, then in about 24 hours by the update the phone does not ask me more unlocking fingerprint, but only by backup password;
but also by entering the backup password will not unlock, and says password wrong.
unfortunately debugging is not active ....
What can I do before performing a hard reset?
thanks!
Happened twice with my phone ...at last it accepted the backup password. .

i don't think that work on my note.... i have I tried a million times
Help!!
Doesnt it give you an Unlock via Google option?
Use Find my phone for unlock
You can unlock your phone screen with browser.
https:// findmymobile samsung com
Do hard reset if u don't find solution.
I think there is a way that's need TWRP recovery and you must flash a file!

unfortunately I tried using Google Android Device to replace the password and lock the phone but it says it on the phone already has a password ....
I did not want to make a hard reset because I do not have a data backup ....
I can use this procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...ck-screen-pattern-password-pin-t2948336/page7 ? But I do not have root permissions, and I would not risk after knox 0x1 because I noticed a spot in the display that I should replace warranty
thanks

You can always go back to your original software after root bat you will trip Knox for ever that mean you will void your warranty.
I saw that came out a firmware in late November N910FXXS1COK2 always based on 5.1.1 but with the fix, if I did the flash of this by Odin on my mobile in theory should fix it if it really had been caused by the previous update?
Odin also works with phone locked and debugging disabled?
thank you
