I'm finally ready to unlock my bootloader and root my note 4 but I need the Samsung voice recorder because it has a meeting mode.
That being said if there were another option or even better a replacement that offered a better quality recording I would go that route. I was leaning toward a custom rom but the meeting mode in voice recorder is a must.

this is somewhat of a galaxy s 1 question, but ill throw it at you guys anyway.. i was always told when i looked into a call recording app, that android wasnt able to record calls, because of hardware limitations, but then i saw a call recorder pop up in my Darky rom, on my SGS.. no idea who made it or where it came from, never heard anything about it before or after, but its been there in his roms since. how was the galaxy s1 able to have a call recorder built right into the dialer app, who did it, and will the galaxy s2 be able to have such a thing?
I'm not sure who told you there but there are a few on the market.
I also had a call recorder with the Gingervillian ROM on my HTC Desire so I think it's part of the CM7 mods.
so does that mean if CM7 comes to the S2, well see a call recorder?
Isn't Call recording not a part of the SGS II TW Rom? I could have sworn I saw it was state somewhere. I just cant recall where at the moment.
Any working call recorder that records both sides for the LG Nexus 4 running on 4.4.4 KTU84P?
I just rooted the phone and thought call recorder should work after rooting however none do.
skvalex call recorder - does not work in ALSA or CAF modes, API mode only works one sided, and a red message at start up that phone is not rooted but I have checked with root checker and it confirms that phone is rooted.
total recall recorder - doesn't record.
incall recorder - doesn't record in phoneline mode, not checked in microphone mode.
Before I start pulling my hair off can somebody help?!!
Somebody help ... !!
Quick question - I want call recording. But when I tried to record with the button that comes in my in call menu, it only recorded me speaking and the other side was completely silent. I don't understand the semantics - are there hardware limitations? - with the current ROM/kernel none of the third party apps are allowing me to record the other side. (I am using the 5.0.1 Aurora Note 4 Port Stable 7.0 ROM by @alemtro )
How do I make this happen? ( I am happy to pay for an app if need be, but only if the call recording is seamless, not buggy and works everytime).
FYI it's working perfectly on stock TW (5.01) for the i9500. Just tried it out. So I'd guess there's something wrong with the software setup you've got.
Okay so I am polling the audience tonight, I am looking for a top notch call recorder, I am on the U Firmware but am not rooted. I use Samsung Pay all the time So I would prefer to keep my device uprooted but will do it if I have to. So can any members here recommend a high quality call recorder? I used to use skylavex when I had my Evo 3D because it could record calls with out having to turn the speaker on. So I'm looking for the same solution here
Has anyone who has upgraded to 9.0 tried call recording?
My understanding is Google has changed the operating system and basically stopped 3rd party apps from recording calls without root.
My job requires I record call so I am keen to know the Mi A1 situation before upgrading.
It has been said that some manufacturers could undo the changes made by Google and allow call recording but that it was quite unlikely as the laws vary so much from country to country, this coupled with the fact our device is Android One make this even more unlikely as we should receive "stock" android.
Would be grateful to hear anyones experience.
I updated yesterday to Pie. I have ACR Pro and in automatic mode it does't record the other side's voice :/
Actually if you are in a quiet environnement can you hear the other side but very faintly.
Hopefully someone will come up with a solution or we'll have to root the phone.
Boldbeast works
I yesterday updated to pie. I use Boldbeast recorder. To check, I recorded a call. The result was that other side was clearly audible.
P. S. Non rooted phone

Thanks for that.
I'm surprised though.
If you look at the reviews on Google Play, Bolbeast replies (to a user with a MI A2 on the 23rd of December):
Android 9.0 disabled the call recording feature, you can only record your own voice, no matter what recorder you are using in the market. You can test and confirm this fact. This app can fix the problem perfectly if you root the phone. Without root you have no solution in the world, with root this app is exactly the solution.

You say "clearly audible" but is that at the same volume as your voice ?
Because on ACR, the mic source can also pick it but at a very low volume.
Anybody tried Boldbeast using root mode?
Using Cube ACR, and voice is only audible, not loud and clear, and very hard to understand.
Boldbeast isn't working for me.
I didn't have to update to Pie, looking forward to downgrade safely for may reasons.

I've just tried Boldbeast out of curiosity...
with default settings it doesn't work, I can record my voice but not the other party.
With rooted mode and the settings described in the docs for Google Pixel (Record mode: alsa) it works perfectly.
