Hello everyone, first let me give major props to my man @bender_007 for creating the amazing LG G Series Autorec Apps which make installing TWRP on LG G Devices a simple process and for also helping me and others who ignorantly misused his app, thanks B!
Anyway recently I bought a LG G3 on Verizon that was on 35b 5.1.1 Lollipop and I rooted. Boy was I eager to get some TWRP poppin on this beast, however flashing TWRP thru Flashify and TWRP Manager left me unsuccessful giving me Secure Booting Error. So desperate I seen Autorec on the Play Store, installed immediately. From there I went through the app's proccesses and from there attempted to boot into recovery hoping for some success.... I did not realize this was went for 24b 5.0.1 until it was late, I mean hey he says it in the description. The phone was dead it wouldn't show anything on the display when I held the power button and it only vibrated, I was f***ed.... At least that is what I thought. I used the method below that me and @bender_007 were collaborating upon as he tried to help me. So please give him credit. I cannot guarantee this will work for you but it worked for me and you don't have to worry about opening up your phone and shorting pins, that nonsense if this works for you.

THE LATEST KDZ FOR YOUR PHONE MODEL (GOOGLE IT)
Your Dead but Still Amazing LG G3 and a USB Cable
Note: IF DONE PROPERLY YOU WILL STILL HAVE ALL YOUR EXSISTING DATA PRE-BRICK
PROCEDURE
1. Gather all materials, and know the locations of all your downloaded files.
2. Install the drivers for your phone.
3. Unzip LGFlashTool_2014.zip
4. Move the .KDZ you should've downloaded to the LGFLASHTOOL_2014 folder.
5. Open Device Manager (press start, type in Device Manager into search bar, hit enter)
6. Click View, "Show Hidden Devices"
7. PLUG in USB CABLE TO COMPUTER ONLY!
8. THIS STEP IS VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT! TAKE THE BATTERY OUT OF YOUR LG G3. PUT IT BACK IN. CLOSE THE BACK. HOLD VOLUME UP ONLY, WHILE HOLDING POWER UP DO NOT LET GO PLUG IN OTHER HALF OF USB CABLE INTO PHONE. KEEP HOLDING VOLUME UP FOR 20 SECONDS. YOURE PHONES SCREEN WILL STILL BE BLACK AND IT SHOULDVE VIBRATED ABOUT 2 SECONDS AFTER YOU PLUGGED IN WIRE (You'll know when you do it right when COMPUTER says installing drivers in bottom right corner.)
9. In Device Manager under Modems there should be something like LGandroidNET I DONT REMEMBER EXACTLY THIS IS ALL OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD. Anyway, if it says that then you are good, believe it or not your in download mode. (IF YOU DO NOT SEE THIS REPEAT STEP 8)
10. Go to LGFlashTool_2014 folder and run the LGFlashTool2014.exe application.
11. Change PhoneMode to Emergency
12. For "SELECT KDZ FILE" open the folder of the the FlashTool, it should be on it by default and pick the KDZ file.
13. Click "Normal Flash"
14. On the next SCREEN click "START" at the bottom
15. Now there should be a pop-up that says "Select Country & Language" Do not mess with this, just click "OK"
16. There should be a SCREEN now that has a % or whatever... From HERE TO THE END OF IT DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR PHONE!!!
17. When you hit like 85% your phone will boot up do not UNPLUG still and once it hits 100% your done! Safe to UNPLUG and YOU FIXED YOUR PHONE!!!!!!
If you have any questions please ask I have pure empathy for anyone who goes through this hell.
The first time I attempted to connect the phone I successfully had the phone under the modem tab. After being unable to find a .KDZ file (after a minute of searching) I stupidly tried another approach. Now after that not cooperating, I came back to attempt this again after finding a .KDZ file and am unable to set up the device properly to show under the modem tab. I'm following your instructions exactly and gave no luck. Any idea why this would be happening?

Okay I'm here to provide my best assistance and for that you'll have to answer a few questions?
1. What is your device model? ex. VS985 Verizon
2. What KDZ did you attempt to flash? ex. VS98547a_01.kdz
Looking forward to your reply.

@wombatthing I would go to device manager go to view "Show Hidden devices" then disconnect your phone take out battery put it back in close back then hold volume up for 20 SECONDS while doing that connect to computer. It probably won't say installing drivers because you said it worked the First time, from there see if it's under Modems. Good luck my friend in here for any questions

Will this method keep all my files that were stored in the internal memory? I'm not worried about the device, i just want my files! Camera pictures etc.
Edit. I tried it but in DIAG mode because i'm afraid emergency can delete my files? I can see the "LGandroidNET " but no vibration and seems like the driivers never install properly. My phone is completely dead.
@bender_007 @OneShotGoGetter
Thanks

My friend all is good. First of all as long as it says LGandroidnet you are good you should be in download mode, in lg flash took for mode click emergency and not diag then click normal flash THIS WILL KEEP YOURE DATA IF YOU SEE CRS FLASH OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT THEN ITLL RESET YOURE PHONE just do Emergency and Normal Flash and it should work. Hope I help if you have questions please ask.
@Ray1000 "Emergency" Mode is just Download Mode flashing. Diag is not that's why you were unsuccessful.
Thanks for this! I'm getting stuck at the end (step 16) when the flash tool says:
"Problem with communication between cell phone and PC.
Please disconnect the cable from your cell phone in order and remove and connect the battery. Power on your cell phone and press the Restart button to resume update. If LG Support Tool is stopped abnormally, try with [Options]-[Upgrade Recovery] in tool menu."
I've tried just clicking the retry button, and also unplugging the phone and putting it in recovery mode again before clicking retry. Neither has worked so far. Any thoughts?
Phone is D855, kdz version is D855V20b_00
For all people with Windows 10 an problems with drivers (device is detected by Windows but app is not connecting). Decompress de correct cab for your Windows version, and update the driver "Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008" with the path you used to extract. Now this driver isn't advertising that isn't signed anymore, and all apps will connect with your LG G3

Sorry for the late response. First of all you are welcome. I don't know if you fixed the problem yet but I'll help anyway. First remove youre battery for at least 10 seconds then put battery in, hold up and connect charger for 20 seconds. Of you are unsuccessful try reinstalling drivers. Best of luck my friend.

Hi, I have tried your method but get stuck on "Problem with communication..." Is this a problem specific to windows 10?
I have attempted to update the Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 but cannot see it in device manager.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
Thank you for this post. But unfortunately I can not get back my device. What happened was I bricked my phone while flashing TWRP. It's a G3 D855 and does not power on at all. Screen is blank, no LED or vibrate. I tried volume up/down combinations with power button but nothing happens. However when I connect it to PC, device manager shows it under Modem and COM ports.

I tried to flash a stock ROM using your method. But I got following error during process.
The only problem was phone did not vibrate when I connect it as you mentioned.
Do you think my phone is gone forever? Is there any other way? Appreciate a reply.
Thanks!
i also cannot find the Qualcomm's driver on windows 10 & phone looses communication with flash tool..

Hello, I had to short some other two pins to get it identified by my PC. The pins mentioned it this post did not work for me. Follow the link given below and it will work for you. Thank me later.

He guys thank you very much. My LG3 was already down for months after many failed attempts and I was about to bin it. Decided to give it one last try, found your instructions and it works, I now have Marshmallow!! (However I downloaded the KDZ file from "downloadmirror.de" and I am not sure if that was a good idea.

For anyone with a D802 who's having trouble flashing the TOT file using LG's FlashTool and getting an error like the screenshot attached below, download this DLL and use it. The DLL I've attached below is used for the Korean F320. The other DLLs provided in other tutorials don't work hence getting errors while trying to flash the TOT file. I had my G2 bricked with no recovery, ADB sideload or fastboot and had my screen flashing with a security boot error. Also tried LG's firmware recovery but suddenly stopped at 48%
I lost all hope when every solution failed. I only had Download Mode available. I decided to try out the DLL for the F320 in FlashTool and my G2 finally came back to life!

1. In Windows 7, go to start, right click Computer and choose 'Manager'------Windows 8? right click the Windows logo at the bottom left corner and choose 'Device Manager'
2. Assuming your phone is in download mode and connected to the pc by USB, open 'Ports (COM & LPT)' and you should see
'LGE AndroidNet USB serial port(COMX)'
3. Right click on 'LGE AndroidNet USB serial port(COMX)' and go to 'properties'
4. Click on the 'Port Settings' tab and click 'advanced'. Another window will pop up, here, choose 'COM Port Number' from COMX to 'COM41' and click OK and OK again.
It should now look like this

8: Choose and download a .TOT file only! Do not download and use a .KDZ, it will not work! : http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=X...+G2/Stock/
9. Download this .DLL file: https://app.box.com/s/v9hmityntrc275js5ran
10. Put the downloaded .DLL and .TOT files in the Desktop.
11. Run LG FlashTool as Admin
12. Choose the .DLL and .TOT and click OK
14. Connect your phone and then click on the arrow on the top left corner of the FlashTool. Wait until it shows 'Ready'
15. When FlashTool shows 'Ready' disconnect and then connect your phone.
16. It should now start flashing. Wait until FlashTool shows 100% and your phone will come back to life.
Report back if it worked.

Open D802 tot in hexeditor. Do search for '802'...first instance you find should be the full model number followed by the software version. Change only the first instance of model from 802 to 855 since that's what flash tools thinks your phone is right now due to the ported rom you flashed. It should then bypass the model check and flash.
i did that method.now i cant go into download mode i dont have custom recovery either,im stuck at logo with led light,my screen only showing white lines(some other colors) my pc is detecting phone while it is stuck on logo..i have d802,what can is do now
i dont have fastboot nor adb working..
Better solution
First I should note that I'm using the LG G2 D802 32GB model, I have the 4.4.2 KitKat stock ROM, I have root, but I haven't installed a custom recovery.
I accidentally changed the permissions on the build.prop file in the system folder, and after reboot, my phone was stuck in a boot loop.
I searched a lot online for a good fix that wouldn't involve losing the information and apps that I have installed on it. And I managed to do it .
I believe this is a better solution than what the OP suggests, and is more user-friendly.
So, in case your LG G2 is stuck in a boot loop with LED flashing green-cyan:
=========================================================
1. Enter Download mode:
A. Turn off your LG G2 completely, if possible. If not, try to time yourself by pressing & holding the power button on the back and then immediately after it turns off and back on again:
B. Hold Volume Up + Insert a microUSB cable in to your phone (the other end should already be attached to your PC).
You should see a blue rectangle, and then the phone will display that it's waiting for a FW update with 0% on the bar.
2. Download & Install the official "LG Mobile Support Tool". The actual filename is B2CAppSetup.exe (256KB).
Run it (there should be a shortcut on the desktop) but give it time, as this app is very slow to load even on a fast machine.
3. Click Options -> Upgrade Recovery. Wait after pressing the button, app is very slow!!!
4. Sit back and relax until it's done (around 10-15 minutes).
In this step, it downloads the latest official KDZ file directly from LG (around 2GB), and re-installs it on your phone.
5. Phone should boot normally with all your settings intact.
6. Note: Closing the "LG Mobile Support Tool" also takes a bit of time, and might even give an error that "the application has stopped working".
This is normal and you can safely ignore it. Simply close the error window and be done with it.
7. You will need to root your phone again using ioRoot (latest version dated 2014-06-17).

Hi! Thank you for such a detailed walkthrough. However, my AT&T LG G2 D800 doesn't go past the LG Logo, though, I'm able to enter Recovery Mode and Download Mode. I just want to ask, is there any way to know my mobile's accurate Serial Number and Model Number without entering into Settings Mode since I cannot turn on my device? Upgrade Recovery option needs it. Thank you!

Not sure what you mean by "Upgrade Recovery option needs it", but if you have the original retail box, there's a sticker on it with the IMEI and exact model number. There might be an option to get this info from the phone itself in one of the recovery/download/whatever modes, but I haven't tried.
@ericgl: Thank you for the response! LG Support Tool requires you to enter either Model Number and Serial Number of your device or the IMEI Number. And since I bought a used phone (without box), I couldn't find the IMEI Number anywhere. Anyways, I opened up the phone's back cover and it was there. I ended up fixing my device using OP's tutorial since LG Support Tool keeps on crashing on Windows 7 32-bit. Still, huge thanks for the method!
any help will be much appreciated
my problem is i cannot go into recovery mode, i guess i flashed a wrong custom recovery before and the phone just boots and says verizon but never goes pass this point. i am not using a verizon version though, i am using lg g2 802, my other problem is i do not know which firmwares to use because they are from different countries and all that, some be it 802a 802b and all that, so how can i tell which one is for my phone? i have the imei number and i bought the phone second hand still broken and trying to fix it myself. is there any universal firmware for lg g2 802? working on all phones?

Hi,
I have reported this thread to be moved to the right Q & A section where you might be able to get help quickly.
Good luck.
This is why I worry messing around with my G2
Have you tried long holding the power button?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
Same thing here. Any answers? I can hold the power button and it turns off for a second then turns itself on and these lines show up again. Same setup after using AutoRec on 4.4.2 rom.
This is a known problem. Have LG send you a new one

Sadly way outside the warranty. So it's pretty much toast?
did you try to TOT back to stock?
btw, why were you rooting and messing with your sister's phone in the first place?

Computer won't recognize the device at all, and it won't enter download mode. So I am not sure I can TOT back without that functionality.

Make sure you're phone is fully charged. I had a problem entering download mode with low battery. I also had to try different usb ports on my laptop for whatever reason.
Take the battery out, recharge it through an external charger.
Also enter download mode via inserting USB Cable (Make sure u have LG United driver installed) and keeping Volume Up button pressed for the whole time until Downlaod mode appears on screen, or atleast the screen is on with those lines.
In case of success (i-e. phone shows signs of life), go to Device Manager in ur PC and see if Android Device is connected. Use LG Flash tool 2014 to flash kdz back to normal or try the tot method just in-case your phone is D802/LS/VS variant which doesn't need download mode tbh, just healthy battery.

And sadly this was my phone. I switched for a while and was coming back and wanted an upgrade to the software. I hadn't updated from 4.4.2 as it had sat in a drawer, then did AutoRec (which I thought I had done before) and boom phone is completely unusable.

I can get signs of life (the bars), and windows makes the "you plugged something in and it worked" sound, but there is nothing in device manager despite having the LG drivers installed. Battery is healthy, I used the phone for a day or so to watch videos and stuff. I was working on it there. I think I need to try a different computer.

Expand under "Ports Com Ports & LPT"
And you will see LGE Com Port Device.
Just flash the kdz away if u see so. otherwise go through the tot method if u see the com port devices to change the com port address to com41 and then flash tot.
I tried this on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7 (all 64-bit versions) and it worked on all of those. Even with USB 3.0 supported laptop.
Your device is at fastboot mode at background, so use fastboot to erase and flashing img files. For example:
fastboot erase laf.img
fastboot flash laf laf.img
you just need your stock img files

Same problem with me tried Kdz Method. But no luck any idea? It's been 3 months em using it like this. Any help?
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
So pretty stuck at this point as well. KDZ method stalls at 60%.
UPDATE FASTBOOT WORKING! Took forever to figure out the drivers, but it's working. I have no clue what to do now.
Fastboot won't recognize the device though I have the fastboot driver installed and running. Any ideas?
TOT is just kinda giving up on me. Still chasing down any leads, but the phone feels pretty borked at this point.
Update: Now in download mode! Man this has been crazy. TOT working! Okay so here is how I did it.
First, I downloaded google's ADB drivers and installed the LG drivers as well. I am not sure which one did it. Then I plugged my phone in and went to device manager. For me, it had an unrecognized device and fastboot wasn't working. So I had to manually assign the driver.
Right click on the device and update driver > Let me choose > all devices > Google > LGE mobile ADB interface.
Now fastboot should be working.
Then I used the srktool_2.1. Option 4 then option 4 again, select model number. It reboots to black screen. From there I was able to completely power off (10 second hold on power button). And when it booted back up all the drivers installed. I was able to TOT back to stock using this guide. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476. KDZ might work as well.
Unfortunately the screen damage looks to be permanent. But I think this is worth more now than it was 30 minutes ago!
Hi, I was trying to update my LG G2 D800 to Lollipop using this guide:
http://webtrickz.com/how-to-update-lg-g2-to-official-lollipop-os/
However, after the device rebooted, it went to the LG logo screen, displayed this message in the top left corner, and went to an indefinite black screen.
boot certification error
secure booting error
cause: boot certification verify
Holding down the power button for about 15 seconds turns the device off, but sometimes it turns itself back on and does it again. Turning it off, then quickly holding volume down and power button, releasing on logo, then holding again brings it to a "Factory Data Reset" screen, however, doing a reset does nothing and puts me immediately back to the same problem.
Holding volume up and plugging it into my PC does the same thing, and when plugged in, windows recognizes about 20 "unformatted drives", and shows it as QHSUB_BULK in device manager, under other devices.
Before this, I was running stock 4.4.2, D80020y, rooted with towelroot. I had attempted to create a TWRP recovery, and it said it succeeded, however it was unable to boot to recovery.
I was going to try to fix it using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
However, I am unable to find an img for D80020y.
I have access to a Win 8..1 desktop, and I can run whatever OS necessary in a VM.
Does anyone know where to find one? Or, can anyone provide me with one? Or, is there another way to fix this?
I'm just worried that my device is totally gone at this point, and considering I bought it used, I have no warranty, nor a phone to replace it, currently.
Thanks so much to anyone who can help me!
First off, why didn't you just do an OTA update to Lollipop (via settings/about phone) instead of trying to manually do it? It's a lot easier and you could of avoided all of this...
Anyways, I am not sure what exactly happened (maybe it was a bad flash or maybe you screwed up somewhere), but it looks like you've gotten yourself in a real mess.
Did you triple check that you followed the article step by step? Did other people state in the comments about any problems they faced when using the method?
I have tried that method you linked before, and I used Ubuntu, which is best for that method. However, it did not work for me. I remember going on and on with that and ultimately just flat out replaced my logic board when I had a bricked G2.
And I can totally relate to to the twenty unformatted drives, I have been in same exact situation with the endless windows popups when I plug in my phone, but I never really figured out the issue. I remember before I was stuck in fast boot mode, and after awhile I couldn't even get to fast boot.
Can you get into recovery? Is the phone still alive? If so, you can use this to get back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Hope this helps a bit, I have never been in your situation but if you want a real, simple solution to this: I would purchase and replace your logic board (phone's motherboard). It is a definite fix. If you are not comfortable with that, then I would advise to go ahead and do some research about this. Unfortunately, I have no idea where you can get that img (I do not have a D800, but rather a VS980), but I am sure with some Google searches you can find it.
I have bricked a couple phones in the past, and we all learn from our mistakes!
Best of luck!

I couldn't do an OTA update, as it's an AT&T phone, unlocked, and was running on TMobile. (Sorry, could've sword I specified that)
I was very careful that I followed all the steps of that article, to the period, but, again, Murphy's Law. I'm not sure what could have gone wrong.
And currently, I've tried every button combination I know and every one I could find from searching, and the only thing I can get into is the hard reset mode, but I cannot actually do a hard reset (just reboots with the same issue).
I've been unable to find specific d80020y img files after quite a bit of searching, but I will continue, and I've also contacted LG support in the event that by some act of god they can provide me with the files or another fix.

Gotcha. I haven't ran into the issue you have been describing at all before, but I just wanted to try to understand this situation a little better, I wish I could tell you what exactly happened.
As far as your problem, here's what I would do. The phone is still alive correct? Contact LG and send that bad boy in. Tell them you used it for a couple of months and all of a sudden it does not work anymore. I think that would be your best bet. However, do not tell them you modified it or whatever you tried to do with it.
Be aware if you do send it in to LG, make sure you have not tried to open up the phone and screw around with it internally. They will not fix it if that is the case. Also, it can be quite pricey depending on your current condition.
Oh, and LG will not provide you with those files, they are there to help you with any kind of phone issue, but not these kinds of issues.
This my friend is the best advice I can give you! Again, another option would be replacing the logic board, but that is ONLY a last resort.
BTW, you didn't hard brick it so that's a plus
I've not got a warranty, nor do I have the funds currently to have it repaired. That would be my last option.
Also, I'm not sure if this is helpful or relevant, but when I plugged it in to my PC just now, and it "recognized" the whole bunch of drives, I clicked through each one to see if it actually accessed anything. The "drive" it labeled "G:" had a single "image" folder in it, containing a bunch of .b00, .b01, .b02, etc files, and some .mdt files. (See picture)
Is this relevant at all? Could this help me?

Yes, I am sure. I just tried it again, though, to confirm. Held volume up, plugged in USB, and it went to the LG logo screen, showed the same error text in the top left, and went to a black screen.
I am downloading the SRKtool right now, and will try as soon as i have it.
Alrighty, so, progress (?).
I did the procedure with SRKtool, and at the end it told me to unplug it from USB and restart it, So i did that, and it went to the download mode screen, then it gave an error (Regrettably, it went too quick for me to read it), and now it's on the LG logo and has been for maybe 5 minutes, and the notification light is flashing multicolor.
EDIT: YES! I turned it off, since it wasn't doing anything, and i am able to get into download mode! Miracle!
So, is there anything else i need to to, or can i just flash Lollipop to it now, with download mode?

Wow, it flashed and everything without a hitch. I'm in KK now, and everything seems all good. So how would I go about upgrading to lollipop?
Thought I'd post back to share the conclusion.
Everything's working perfectly now, I flashed Lollipop through the flash tool, worked perfectly, and now I'm rooted, got a proper TWRP recovery set up, Xposed installed, and everything is good. Seems to run smoother on Lollipop too, and I was skeptical about the battery life, but it seems great

Okay , i dont know what really happened but.. I was running CM12 with custom kernel.. it were fine *for2days* , then there were some annoying bugs with the video and audio playbacks and also wifi.. Before i flashed cm12 i did twrp backup, so i restored it and when i rebooted to system.. the phone didnt seem to turn on. just a black screen and vibrating every 2 seconds. PC doesnt recognize it , i cant get to the boot logo , just vibrating.. I cant go in recovery neither download nor fastboot or anything else.. just vibrating every 2 seconds or less.
edit.. it stopped vibrating when i pulled out the battery for 10mins. now its doing nothing, just black screen. ill charge it for several hours and try again

I think its not possible to revive your Lenovo A6000.
I too had a similar experience. The Motherboard of the phone may have have fried .
So I suggest you to visit the Lenovo Service Center & say that the phone doesn't turn ON after you updated to the new update version.
Say nothing about rooting or your custom ROM.
I hope you are still under warranty & they will probably repair it for Free. Also Enquire abt the charges if any.
Qualcomm Hs USB Qdloader 9008 (or 9006) mode
Hello friend your phone can be recovered. First, try doing this step by step:
I hope you are using Windows Os on PC
1. remove battery from your device (wait for atleast 5 seconds)
2. download Qualcomm Hs Usb drivers, install and resart your PC ( if you want help fetching drivers let me know I'm not allowed to post links here)
3. Open device manager form control panel
3. insert battery and connect the phone to your pc via USB ( I recommend USB 2.0 port) without pressing any buttons.
4. check if your device is detected and listed as qualcomm Hs USB qdloader 9008 (or 9006) in device manager under Ports
5. if showing your phone has life and it is recoverable for sure
6 if not showing repeat step 1 and 3 but, this time press and hold volume up + power button while connecting the phone to your computer
reply here and let me know if your device is showing as qdloader 9008 (or 9006) mode or not
Happy to help you

I dont know what really happened to that phone. I just restored my twrp backup, rebooted and thats it... It cant be hardware issue.

Okay , the phone came back. For first 3 days it was in Sofia,Bulgaria and they didn't found out why its not booting. Then, they texted me that the phone is shipped to India ( i dont really know why ). 10 days later the phone arrived here with changed motherboard. They did not charged me and my warranty is still alive. I'm fully sure that its software issue , really don't know whats the point of changing mobo. Anyway , thanks for supporting.

Hey guys, I'm trying to fix an lg spirit (h440n)
The phone ran out of battery, and later when I charged it and rebooted, I couldn't get any service, and later realized that the IMEI is now invalid and is listen as "unknown" (as well as a couple of other things). Also, for whatever reason the phone takes a much longer time to boot up.
I'd really appreciate if anyone could assist me with restoring the IMEI.
So far I tried doing a factory reset, which didn't help at all (and now for whatever reason the youtube app appears as a generic android icon with the name com.google.android.youtube...etc.)
I do still have the original IMEI cause i saved the box from the phone.
By the way, I'm on android 6.0

Hi,
so I tried doing that, but I keep running into several errors:
1) If I try doing a normal flash using a stock v20b ROM (android 6.0), the flashing software gives me an error saying "Problem with communication between cell phone and PC". It has some instructions on what to do to restart the flashing process, but it still doesn't work for me even if I do them
2) Flashing the v20b ROM with with the CSE flash method, I get an error on the program saying "Required info cannot be found. Contact the system administrator.."
3) Flashing a 10i ROM (android 5) with the CSE method, the flashing process goes to about 9% on the PC, then my phone reboots and for a split second displays an error with all red letters saying "Boot verification Fail!! cause : DIFFERENT_HASH", and after that the phone reboots as normal and the flashing process is once again failed.
I honestly don't understand where the problem is... I hope it's still possible to solve

If the above method doesn't work then try to flash lollipop rom with LG UP software as it is possible that the lg support tool could be having trouble flashing the rom.
Also please post a screenshot of the issue.

Seems like the method you sent me in the link requires for my LG to be rooted, which I don't think I'll be able to do - none of the one click root methods worked cause android 6.0 seems to have fixed the exploit those programs use, and doing it manually might also be troublesome cause I can't get the download mode to work with the phone.(Like I mentioned, the error "Boot verification Fail!! cause : DIFFERENT_HASH"). Sorry, I'm not able to post an image of the error cause I'm still a new user on the forums...
So I think LGUP might be my only hope at this point, but I can't get it to recognize my phone. It just shows up as an unknown device and I can't proceed with the flashing process

Go to this link:
https://lg-kdz-firmware.com/check-your-firmware.html
Open your phone from the back and remove the battery, then you will find the IMEI, write it on that site that i put a link to and you can find the right firmware for your phone, download it, download lg drivers (search on google for them) and install them, then try flashing with LG Flash Tool 2014, and make settings to be like this:
Select Type: CDMA,
PhoneMode: CS_EMERGENCY
and flash with CSE Flash.
To go in download mode turn off your phone and hold the volume down button while holding enter the usb cable in to the phone but it should previously be connected to the pc, hold volume down button until you sea a screen that shows you that you are in download mode than start the tool from your pc and flash the firmware.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I can't get my phone into download mode, the phone displays an error: "Boot verification Fail!! cause : DIFFERENT_HASH", and just reboots like normal and the flashing process ends up failing... I guess the download mode on my phone is somehow broken, though I can't find any way to fix it

To enter download mode phone must be turned off then press and hold vol. Up button then plug in the usb cable. It is not the volume down button.
If Lg Up recognizes your phone as unknown device that's normal as it has happened to me as well. See if you can enter in download mode with keys, if you can't, just keep your phone booted into rom then start flashing lollipop kdz and your phone should automatically boot into download mode.
On my LG Spirit 4G LTE h440n is the volume down button. The volume up is to go into the bootloader.

In LGUP when my phone shows up as "unknown", I can't do the flashing process cause the program just says "You have to select a known model, please."

And about download mode, I know how to get into it, and it is indeed volume up+usb, but like I said, when I enter download mode it just displays that error message about boot verification failed, and the phone just reboots as normal. I thought maybe I'm not explaining it well enough so instead I filmed a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APlsn5gVvzw&feature=youtu.be

Tried everything in that thread, but sadly the result is still the same. I also followed a tutorial in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-spirit/how-to/how-to-install-marshmallow-lg-spirit-t3490045 but my phone is still not recognized by LGUP. I'm certain I followed the instructions correctly

Sorry then as i can't think of anything else. If your phone is still under warranty period you can always send it to service center.

Ahh that's too bad. Well, thank you for your help either way! Sadly, the phone isn't covered by warranty anymore..
I think my best bet is to make the download mode work correctly. I guess I will have to keep searching
I have an LG Spirit 4G (H440n) that lost its IMEI a month ago after shutting down because of a drained battery. After turning it on, the SIM card never got read and the IMEI was unknown. Following a lot of hurdles to reflash a .kdz from download mode I managed to flash a MM firmware and the phone rebooted with its IMEI intact. Then, after a while the phone shut down with a drained battery and the same thing happened. I reflashed and fixed it.
After that... Yeah, the phone shut down after a battery drain and now it doesn't have its IMEI again. Is there any way to restore it and keep there for good without reflashing the whole device from download mode? What could be causing? Should I watch out for the battery forever now?

Wow this really is strange. Just to be clear, this phone I was trying to fix was being used by my dad, not me, and he also said the problems started happening after his battery got drained. Unlike you, however, I never managed to even flash a stock ROM to the phone, cause for me the download mode still doesn't work.
Any LG gurus out there know what's going on with these phones?
I can't post links on threads but i found a video, not sure if it helps or if it works but you got nothing to lose, PM me and i'll send you the link.
