Not able to boot into custom recovery

Using the LG Google Nexus 4 ToolKit, I did the 1 click for all operation [unlock, root, rename, busybox, custom recovery twrp]. I'm rooted properly but I'm just not able to boot into recovery. I tried booting to fastboot, selection recovery with the volume rocker, then pressing the power key, but this just got me back to Android in a minute or so. I downloaded an app from the Play store which boots into recovery but it also boots me straight to android.
I tried separately flashing the recovery via the ToolKit but again I always boot straight to android. How do I fix this?

flash your recovery via fastboot. fastboot flash it, dont fastboot boot it. fastboot booting it only gives you a one time use. also, if you are using the stock rom, you have to delete the recovery-from-boot.p file so your custom recovery doesnt get overwritten by the stock recovery.

[Q] Can't boot recovery with button combo

It's very strange - I can't get to recovery by holding down power + vol-up + home buttons. The message comes up that it's booting recovery but then disappears for a second and then either powers off or boots normally.
I can boot into recovery through the toolkit/odin/goomanager however and I've also found that I can boot into recovery if I first go into download mode, press vol-down to cancel download and boot normally and then immediately press the vol-up/power/home button combination.
I have TWRP installed but I previously had philz CWM and this problem happened with both. If i remember rightly the first recovery I tried to install was the original CWM with odin but when I booted into recovery it was still the stock recovery. I'm not sure if this information is necessary though.
Can anyone help me with this or why this could be happening?

When was the last time you updated SuperSU?
Go to the playstore and download/install the latest version reboot the phone normally and after reboot reboot into recovery.
Good luck!
Thanks, that worked. I can now get into recovery with the button combo.

[Q] Can't boot into recovery

I had installed twrp and now cwm but whenever I try to boot to recovery on either I just end up with a fast boot screen. I then have to hold down power button to restart the phone. I am wanting to make a back up. I am rooted and on kitkat.
Fixed by installing Autorec

Can't boot into recovery using vol down+power but can boot normally

Hi,
I can't boot into recovery using vol down+power but I can boot normally into OS and from there I can boot into recovery through ADB or third party apps.
I was trying to update my OP2 with new OxygenOS 3.0.2. As my device was rooted so I had to do it manually using TWRP. Till now I was able to boot into recovery by vol down+power.
Before flashing I wiped everything(dalvik+cache+system+data), rebooted into recovery and flashed the OOS3.0.2 full ROM. At this point the installation was successfull but I was not able to boot the OS, it was stuck on the loading screen. After several attempts to boot OS, I finally tried to boot into recovery to flash again, but I was unable to. When I press vol down+power for few sec, the phone switches off with a vibration.
Later I found out that I was supposed to use a modified TWRP. So I flashed the modified TWRP via fastboot and flashed the OOS3.0.2 full ROM again, Now I can boot into OS normally but still I cannot boot into recovery by vol down+power. But the interesting thing is that I can boot into recovery through ADB or third party apps.
I tried flashing the TWRP recovery again with no luck. I thought this could be a problem with boot.img which is contained in ROM itself so I also flashed the ROM again with no luck. Also I am absolutely sure that this is not a hardware issue with by volume buttons as I can use them properly when I boot into OS.
A quick thought, is it possible that the boot.img of the ROM itself is broken? Seems unlikely as I am not seeing anyone else having this issue. But if it is, is it ok to flash the boot.img from OOS2.x version ROM, will that be compatible? Just wanted to be sure before doing this.
Any other thoughts are welcome.
Are you used this command for flashing twrp??
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
You should add "flash", otherwise it won't install twrp in your mobile
yes I used that command only

After flash recovery use this command it will help to boot in twrp "fastboot boot recovery.img " without quotes
yes I know that, thats how I booted into recovery from fastboot for flashing the ROM. But I should be able to boot into recovery by vol down+power. That is why I posted this question.
Will you please send me screenshot of cmd?? after flash recover

Question regarding Stock recovery:

How to install stock recovery on moto g4 plus if there is no recovery currently installed on the device?
Hmm, there should be a recovery on the device. If you boot to the bootloader, then boot to recovery, what screen do you see? If it's a screen with 'no command' written on it, then press and hold the power button, then press the volume up key - that should let you access the stock recovery.
If you don't have that screen or a TWRP screen, you can re-flash the stock ROM via fastboot. Depending on your device, you can flash the NPJS25.93-14-18 stock ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
