[Q]How to disable Android Wear Update by ADB? - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all.
I want to change my LG G Watch R with Android Wear 5.1.1 check for update Period or disable it. While i want to update to Android 6.0, because in this Version i cant boot to TWRP after a reboot. So i don't have root acces. But this is not the Question. I like this Version of Android Wear and i don't want to update a running system
Always when update is availalbe, the watch downloads it and makes a permanet notification that i can't wipe away. I must reboot into the recovery and delet the update files.
Google Search was not successful and disable WLAN-Connection doesn't help. I find no Option to disable the update in the Android Wear GUI.
Regards Lukas

"SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip"
Why is it that after flashing "SuperSU-v2.78-SR1-20160915123031.zip" sucessfully
and rebooting the watch it gets stuck on the Android Screen?
Also where exactly is the OTA update.zip file located in the rom
(I have twrp installed already)

OTA Update Failed

Hello,
I just noticed 1 hour ago I have 4.3 OTA update for my Nexus 10. However the update has been failed, due to vfxsound mod as far as I understand. I deactivated this app but I cant see OTA update again if I check the system updates manually it states that your system is current(4.2.2). What can I do to have this system update notification again?
My configuration:
rooted (supersu)
CWM recovery
Thank you.
Same here!

I can't update to 4.3 because of the same reason.
In my case, I installed both vfx and vhifi.
I deactivated and turned both of them into safe mode and tried to flash the update with stock recovery.
However, I still got "assert failed: apply_patch_check system/vendor/etc/audio_effects.conf"
There is a way to get the OTA update back, but I repeatedly failed, and ended up with error.
Someone please help us!
This happens because those files have been modified and are no longer the originals. Extract the files it is having issues with from the 4.2.2 factory image, replace them and try again, or just flash system.img from the factory 4.2.2 image and run the OTA again.
Edit: Also, to get the OTA notification again, go to Settings>Apps>All and force stop "Google Services Framework" then "Clear Data". Immediately return to the "About" screen and check for a system update. If any popups come up regarding allowing location services, choose "No" or otherwise don't allow it.
While the system update downloads, remove your google account, and re-add it to avoid any issues with sync, etc. on your google account. Keep in mind if you use 2-factor authentication via google, you'll need to add a new application password for your tablet.
I succesfully upgraded the system. As you said I replaced these file with the original ones. Now It works fine. The only problem is mx player doesnt work. I think they will update it soon.

Did you mean, "phone"? I can only speak for how this behaves on the Nexus 10. Also, if you enable location services (sometimes it tries when the google services framework starts back up) and you allow it, the OTA doesn't seem to show up (at least not for me, perhaps it's region-based?).
I had to redo mine several times while I replaced system files that had been modified, so I know it works if it's done the way I described. 60% of the time, it worked every time.
Also, try removing your custom recovery. I don't know how this affects things for the OTA but it's a factor I didn't have to contend with.
I'm pretty sure he meant tablet. I'm having the exact same problem on my N10.

Another update for Z3

Another update!
http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Softw...mware-update-for-the-Xperia-Z3-and/m-p/980932
Ensured the lock screen / notification bar doesn’t indicate “no service” when the device has coverage
Added a Sony feature; bringing back the "close-all-button" in the activity menu, so you can easily close all apps at once
Unblocked devices with server policies (such as Exchange Active Sync for e-mail), to enable the new Lollipop lock-screen notifications
Ensured the LED light is lit across all sound modes - and no longer offset by “silent”
Made the necessary fixes to enable the easy movement of content from internal memory to external microSD card (something we saw affecting a few devices)
Improved messaging functionality in Ultra stamina mode – some conversations could not be opened before in Ultra stamina mode
Finally a fix for the lockscreen notifications not showing if syncing Exchange with locking code policy!
Already flashed a rooted zip and running flawlessly with Xposed and everyhing
The notifications should have been fixed in 23.1.A.0.726 though, but I never got around to try it(it never appeard in OTA either).
Quick question, if I update using OTA will I loose root and recovery?

No you wont lose root or recovery if you OTA update just make sure you've not deleted any of the pre-installed apps other wise the OTA will fail to install.

im not really bothered about the update, how can i get rid of the notification? cant seem to clear it

Hey, I have the same thing.
I'm rooted and just checked, that I have uninstalled the "small apps" components. Do I need to install them to get rid of this annoying notification or other steps could be taken?
Edit:
I managed to close it with titanium, just hit "backup" on update center. However, before that I changed the setting 'don't update automatically'.
Cheers.

Where did you get the flashable zip? Can you point me to it? I've done all kinds of tweaks like removing system apps, so I can't use the official updater.
Edit: Found one here, haven't tried it yet tho... https://mega.co.nz/#!aZgC3K6A!vB5ZJplEq0Hlk5zgt1rqFYeanrhP_NYXnKfd0sA3xt4

I made my own zip. Glad you find one!
Can you provide the zip
Omnikai has already posted a link to one..
Can I just flash that over what I'm currently using? do I need to wipe anything?! I don't want to lose my application data
I flashed the zip I made myself without loosing anything, just wiped dalvik/cache.
Can you possibly upload the one you made??!
It's a Norwegian/Telenor specific rom, I guess you'd rather have the Nordic Generic from that link
And I don't have the zip available here, and no places to uploads.. Sorry.

If you mean "update service" I tried to backup and it says insufficient storage space even though I have 6gb.
Is it safe to freeze the service? or is there another way

The annoying update

I'm running Android 6.0, and I am getting penetrated for updating to 6.0.1.
Well, my phone is unlocked, rooted and with TWRP recovery. I did the update to 6.0, but the procedure was quite time-consuming. Play back old backup that only had root but no other system modifications, unroot, flash stock recovery, update, and do the whole thing again. It was ok for a major update, but way to complex for a small one. I would like the security updates, but not at that cost.
What other options do I have? I can't seem to get rid of the annyoing, very pushy Update notification wich just *** pops up in the foreground. All I can do is delay it for 23h59min, which needs multiple inputs for that..
Is there a update file for en.EU that I can flash dirty via TWRP? Or a way to disable the update notifications?

Capture the OTA zip for our common humans didn't received the OTA yet. Download the update, do not install and reboot in recovery. The OTA zip is in /cache folder. With TWRP in /cache and copy the zip to sdcard.
Update Notification states 24.201.3.en.EU
On a Moto X Style 6.0 24.11.18_clark_reteu.reteu.en.EU reteu with no other patch (Security patch level 1. Nov 2015).

Thank you for your effort! But unfortunately this isn't the 6.01 OTA arriving in March, it's just a security patch from February... Bad news for some of us
On the other hand, you could ban the update notification 'hiding' the Motorola Update Services: adb pm hide com.motorola.ccc.ota
Or like you are rooted, you could freeze the app with some 3rd party like Titanium Backup.

Sorry it's just the security patch. I got the Notification in February, got annoyed a few days with it, and then it dissapeared again, starting to show up again a few days ago.
I also just found out that I can block it via TB (Motorola Update Service), but to know the adb command is nice, thanks.
From what I read to now, the update is not easy, you basically have to start from scratch again, which is too time-consuming. I'll block it for now and check out what that march update may offer.
Yeah I've been getting the notification for about a week now myself. Been doing exactly the same thing as you by setting the notification to 23h59m just to get it to shut up otherwise it bothers me every time I wake my phone. I actually tried to run the update and it just went to TWRP and failed. Would love a way of updating without having to wipe.

Are you getting 'eu' variant 6.0.1 ota notif.? If yes, it should be great if you capture it for us
Always capture an OTA if possible

Man, no offense, but do some reading. People are telling everywhere we have to wait for the next stable build from Xiaomi. The first stable build was buggy, and that is why is stopped.
Be patient, probably we will get update by the end of January, for those who already did update to Oreo, they got January security patch to fix some bugs. For now, it is better to stay on Nougat.
Watch this video to learn how you can flash the stocks ROM in order to install the OTA update , this method is also help you to overcome from the Bootloop https://youtu.be/sbkZoYs0LP0

If I had to guess I would say delete the folder where the update was downloaded to on your phone. You have to Google where that is I'm not sure. That's where I would start.
