Yes, so we all have got the latest and greatest of all windows. But does it come with problems to your rooted phone? Yes it does!
While you connect your rooted unlocked phone in bootloader/fastboot mode, It will likely show a “Windows USB Device (Device failed enumeration)” error if you go upto Device Manager. I’ve made a step-by-step guide for a little fix which I found working on Intel Machine with USB 3.0. I don’t know whether it will work for any other machine so try it at your own risk.
Install your default device drivers (For HTC, Install the HTC Sync Manager, For Sony, Use the ones you got in flashtool, etc)
If you are using Windows 8.1, use this for HTC drivers.
*NOTE* The instructions from Step 2-6 are only for machines with an Intel eXtensible Host Controller. Look for the Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers in Device Manager.
Download Intel Official Drivers from the following link. Extract the zip file to a known location.
Download the following 2 files which have been modified to work on Windows 8 & 8.1
File 1
File 2
Now we are going to replace these two files which you have downloaded with the original ones. Copy the two files, and head over to the following directory in the zip file you extracted in Step 2.
“Intel(R)_USB_3.0_eXtensible_Host_Controller_Driver\Drivers\Win7\x64″
Copy the two files here. Accept any warning which shows by hitting ‘Replace’
Now we have to disable the default Driver Signing enforcement which Microsoft has inbuilt into Windows 8 and 8.1. To do so You have to do the following
Press Windows Key + R (or go to Run)
Type “shutdown.exe /r /o /f /t 00″
Go to Troubleshoot –> Advanced options –> Start Up Settings –> Restart
After a computer soft reboot, hit Option 7 (Disable driver signature enforcement)
Restart your PC
When the Windows starts, go to run, and type “devmgmt.msc” and hit enter.
[showmyads]
Go to Universal Serial busses at the end and double click “Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible controller”. Click on Drivers in the New window which opens.
You should see that the Drivers are provided by Microsoft.

Now click “Update Driver” and then select “Browse my computer for driver software”. Next choose “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer” and select “Have Disk”.
In the Window that pops up titled “Install From Disk” choose “Browse” and navigate to the location where we replace the original inf’s with the two modified .inf files. Select iusb3xhc.inf and click ok.
Ignore all warnings and install the drivers.
After installing, Reboot the computer with the same procedure as Step 6 & 7.
On opening the device manager, you should see an Unknown device. If you already had one before, you need to cross-check every unknown device to find the one we need.
Double click each such device and go to the 3rd tab “Details”. Find the Value “VID_8086″
After finding the correct device, choose “Update Driver” then click “Browse my computer”, Windows will ask you to identify the type of device, scroll down and select “Universal Serial Bus Devices”.
Click next, choose “Have Disk”, “Browse” and select the modified iusb3hub.inf that we placed in the same folder earlier. Ignore all warnings and install the drivers.
[showmyads]
Restart the computer normally and look at the driver tab for the “Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller” and the “Intel(R) USB 3.0 Root Hub” to confirm that you are now running the Intel drivers instead of the Microsoft ones.
You are now done. Try checking to see if the fastboot drivers works for you or not!

Just a note, that Development section should only contain projects made by by you for Android phones. This fits better in General section.
Well, will try now, I have this problem so that I can try new rom
For those without USB 3.0 ports or if it doesn't work for you.. just download ubuntu, put it on a USB stick and start it up in live mode, then use this fastboot binary: http://d-h.st/vsJ
No need for drivers or anything, just make sure you use "sudo fastboot" or it won't work.

Microsoft will be releasing an update that contains the fastboot drivers for Windows 8.1 so just sit back, relax and wait for the update notification.

I wanted to personaly thank you for this method. I use windows 8.1 and have an intel 7 series chipset. 2 weeks ago, suddenly all my usb ports stopped working. I checked device manager, and universal serial bus controller only gave 3 chipset controllers. Also there were 3 other devices: unknown devices. When i checked the details, it were the USB root hubs of 2x 2.0 ports and 1x 3.0 ports. I tried everything until I came to this forum and tried you method for the 3.0 ports and it worked. Now i have access to 2 of my 4 usb ports. I am still not able to use my 2.0 ports. The usb hubs of these ports are not recognised and still under unknown device. Any suggestions on how to get these ports working?
Thanx in advance.
I found that it's very strange that there's no thread on XDA for this superb popular tablet.
This tablet is the most talked about among the Chinese, Vietnamese and Japanese tech nerd because of it cheap price.
It's the cheapest Windows Tablet at USD70 shipped to whole world, and USD48 factory price.

My goal here is to totally clean the 16GB emmc and clean / fresh install it with Windows 10 Home with compression to save space.
I will post my progress on the second post (SUCCESS!).
If any of you guys have this tablet and wanna try, I have attached the working drivers for this tablet that you can download below
Steps to repeat what I've accomplished:
- Charge full the tablet.
- Full reset existing Windows 8.1 with Bing x86
- Connect to internet, make sure the tablet is activated.
- Charge full the tablet again.
- While connected to the internet, do an in-place upgrade of it's existing Windows 8.1 with Bing x86 to Windows 10 Home x86 (from an iso in a thumbdrive) (This step is important! It make sure your Windows stay activated)
- Make sure all hardware is working and have correct driver and Windows 10 is activated
(connected standby seems not working very well)
- Charge full the tablet again.
- Insert Thumbdrive, Keyboard, Mouse into USB hub then insert to the tablet.
- Restart the tablet while holding down the shift key / or open Settings, and click/tap on the Update & security icon, then click/tap on Recovery on the left side, and click/tap on Restart now under Advanced startup on the right side.
- The tablet will reboot and you will see the Advanced Startup Options screen.
- From here click Troubleshoot then Advance Options then click Command Prompt.
- From command prompt, type d:/setup.exe (where d:/ is your thumbdrive letter).
- You should then be in the Windows Installer setup screen. This should be exactly the same as booting from USB.
- Follow the setup wizard to do clean install, you will see 5 partitions.
- First 2 partitions (System , EFI) you should LEAVE it, do not delete it.
- Delete the last 3 partitions (C:, Recovery and another Recovery)
- Choose to install Windows on the free space that you got after deleting the last 3 partitions. (No need to manually create a partition).
- Let it install normally, once done you will have C:/ or around 14.45GB.
- It will detect as a normal desktop, but once you install all the drivers on the first post, you will have a fully working tablet again.
Tips to save more space:
1) Use CompactOS:
From an administrative command prompt, simply use the commands:
Compact.exe /CompactOS:query This will query Windows to see if CompactOS is enabled or not
Compact.exe /CompactOS:always This will enable CompactOS
Compact.exe /CompactOS:never This will disable CompactOS
2) Disable hibernation.
3) Decrease pagefile size.
I have around 7GB free space on a fully updated Windows 10 Home installation even with default pagefile and hibernation turned on.
bro what software do you use to restore and backup the driver?
Nice Thread. Just what i was looking for!
How did you Update?
I tried via .iso on a USB drive.... did not work...
Great Job M$ did there -.- can't even see the full installation window.
(Attachment 1+2)
But well.... that's not the main problem here... it needs 6.27gb free space on C to install Windows 10 ~.~
(Attachment 3)
i still have my 4gb image partition....
Now trying the inplace Upgrade....
P.S About Drivers....

Here are mine on Google Drive:
drivers_Momo7W.zip
drive.google.com
Also made a Macrium Reflect Free Recovery Disk and saved the img on a USB drive... you never know.
Btw, i also got that error about USB not activated via BIOS. Did you also use a USB 3.0 stick? Heard that there are some driver problems with Windows10 installation and USB3.0
Edit:
Well... inplace upgrade also fails -.- needs 5gb more space.
(Attachment 4)
Edit 24.11.2021.
****ing Google drive changed the link.
Replaced it. Got about 2-4 emails per Week askig for the file. Should work again now.
i did it.... phew....
Skipped the 6.67gb limitation by selecting a USB drive as backup for the old windows... though didn't even use it in the end -.-
So i have now 6.6gb Free of 14gb.... oh yeah... and the 4gb image partition got deleted during installation.
The worst thing was the Touchscreen driver, because i did not update but delete all i also deleted Touchscreen drivers.
Touchscreen readme.txt insider the driver package said:
- Copy "SileadTouch.fw" to "C:\Windows\System32\Drivers"
- Update the driver "KMDF HID Minidriver for Touch I2C Device_15.46.55.386_6.2_x86"

Make sure you have a USB Keyboard or Mouse for the initial Setup and to install the drivers.
I installed VNC really fast and did all via PC ^^

Strange, I only have 2.5GB of free space doing exactly what you doing when I upgrade.
But the 4GB recovery partition is not deleted.
I'm still trying to find a way to boot from USB to do a clean install.
i used the .iso on a USB stick, mounted in windows and started the setup.
Btw, i can see your problems with Connected Standby....
SleepStudy
BatteryReport
Tough it was already horrible in windows8.1 so i never used that, and always turned off my device
Anyone else here has Stats from W8.1 times ?
Unfortunately I have no way of downgrading because I cannot boot from USB...
Tried the Windows 10 recovery menu to boot from EFI USB device also cannot.
shouldn't there be a "Restore Windows to previous state" ? or did you already clean the disk and deleted "old windows installations" ?

Yes, it restored back to Windows 10 Home.
My C:/Windows.old is less than 1MB.
I have no idea why this happened to my upgrade.
I'm trying to download the 5.7GB recovery file from Ployer website since a week ago but the speed to me is only around 5kb...
I believe this recovery file should be able to restore the tablet back to the original Chinese Windows 8.1 with Bing.
Linux
I dont know about you guys, but Personally, I would like to install linux on mine, but i still dont know whether it will support it. i have downloaded the iso for Kali linux and i plan to install it soon, but sadly, i cant seem to even reach the boot menu.
I think it would be nice for me to have a portable linux wireless tool, well if i can install it.
if anybody hass managed to install any linux distro on the ployer momo7w, please i would like to know how you got past the very fast boot screen, and into the bios.
How are you getting on with this?
I am just preparing to do the same upgrade... Amongst other things, the chinese writing, mid English Windows is driving me mad!!!
Have you managed to get everything up and running yet?
I have managed to get a few things sorted on this... Since you can only get it wrong once and its all over (and I nearly did!) I have managed to get USB booting, and I have also backed up the existing drivers on Windows 8.1, with a hope that in the worst case scenario (and I cant find the drivers for the touch screen!) I am hoping that I can send it looking through the backed up drivers and put it to use with windows 10!
So I am currently biting my fingernails, as I have been backing up for about 2.5 hours, and I have 18 minutes left, and I am hoping the battery holds out for the complete backup (Using Macrium on a live USB to do the backup!)
I will see how it goes, but happy to help you guys get your devices booting to USB if you want!
Running into issues! I can get a USB disk bootable, as I managed to back up from a UEFI USB, but now, I cannot build for love nor money - a Windows 10 installer UEFI USB! RUFUS, SARDU, none of them seem to be able to make it work
Got a bit more work to get done! I might event get a solution, but the way the ployer UEFI is setup, its missing some key settings in the UEFI, which without (CSM) we may not be able to clean install!
managed to get the new installation done, you will need a mostly charged tablet, a USB adapter cable, I would recommend a four port hub - one for a mouse, and one for your USB drive with the windows installer on it.
I am happy to share my BIOS settings so you guys can reproduce it! I am waiting for the install to finish and I will run all the drivers installations through, then I can try get the touch screen up and running with my backed up drivers! Hopefully a nice, clean (all English!) installation! I get driven mad by the recurrent chinese words throughout my OS, even though its set to English!!!
tell us about the storage used and free
I ran into another hurdle!
Got the install completed, but now, it doesnt recognise its a tablet! there are no unknown devices, so I cant install the drivers, the start button and the volume buttons do not work

4.88GB of free space out of 14GB drive, but there are so many problems with drivers missing, cant see the accelerometer, touch screen, soft or hard keys, I am thinking I might just wipe it and start again...
Right, I am going for a new approach!
I am using the inbuilt UEFI recovery function, and have just reinstalled the OS, looks like its probably Windows 8.1, but what I will then do, is try reinstall, telling it to leave my files. This may sound crazy, and isnt strictly speaking a "Clean install", however, after a clean install of windows 8.1 and an upgrade to windows 10, this should be the best that can be accomplished, without having driver issues everywhere!
I will keep trying and let you know how I get on!
....EDIT... seems its just reinstalled windows 10! looks like I will have to pull out my backups and reload the tablet!
help
Hi
I also bought one of these tablet.
I would like on Windows 10 were installed, but no way to succeed.
I read the forum, but unfortunately I do not know English well.
I live in Hungary.
I can not enter BIOS. I connected a wireless keyboard + mouse pressed esc, but not having been in the BIOS.
If I bought the írásotokból, USB can not be reinstalled?
Or, if you do not clean installation somehow manages to put even works with touch screen, volume keys, gyrosensor?
There are very few places on the device ... In practice, in addition to other Windows programs can not be installed. It would be nice if bootlna USB cancel the recovery partition!
It is very annoying that some Chinese characters in the windows, and do not even like 8 system
Thank you!
PS: I wrote google translator, I hope you understand
Lipothp
I am still working on the clean install... Read on for more details.... Unfortunately it's all not going to work very well....
So I reinstated windows 8.1, tried to boot and it failed, as such I reinstalled windows 8 through its recovery tool, though I probably won't be able to do that again.
Anyway, I'm stuck now, got 5.3gb of free space and that's it. I can't progress as I can't claim more disk space. The recovery partition is more than just recovery it is actively used by windows... So if you delete that partition, Windows dies. If you try to move windows folder it will die.
The next challenge is to try move the users directory and hope it works it won't thought. Even compressing the disk space does nothing...
Lipothp, I would suggest you get a wired keyboard and connect to your tablet, go to settings, recovery, advanced and reboot. When it comes up go to troubleshoot and then the option is there for bios.
Seriously it's taken me a week to upgrade and still no closer to having everything working.

i had the same issue. dont paste the drivers directly to windows folder. open device manager and install drivers for intel HD graphics and I2C touch controller and touch will start working. for rotation need to install bosch accelorometer drivers
Memory problem
I was told Memory 32 GB expandable upto 500 GB. How can it be expanded? It looks there is no room for HDD of 500 GB. Windows 10 was unable to update due to low space ie less than 4 GB, Windows needs 5 GB space.
In Android they gave 8 GB ROM for me. They said 32 GB ROM, atleast I understood in that way. I didn't know Windows 10 also was there, dual boot.

My hands on experience
Please do not try based on the info available in this site/thread regarding installation of Windows, installation of Android, unless further progress is there because of the following hands on experience.
1) The tablet is manufactured by little known company, hence not much development support can be expected.
2) the company is having only one service center at mumbai, they are not ready to share windows drivers or android files through downloads.
3) This looks like laptop but they say it is a tablet with keyboard, hence it is similar to phone with so many secrete partitions and files.
4) It has UEFI type BIOS only, (No legacy BIOS), it has 32 bit only hardware, it does not popular other hardware chips hence it is difficult to get worked open android OS or windows drivers* . (further I suspect it might have locked Bootloader this is the point i have missed before my attempt)
I have backed up all the 17 partitions and restored back with Easeus To Do back up (so far other image backup software are not even working on this type of environment). I have backed up various methods , as some problem i was anticipating (like Partition backup, Disk Back Up (sector by sector method), System Back up & Disk Clone while it was running OK )
But on requirement , when restoration was done with partition backup (as My windows was not booting , not resetting, not restoring , vendors asks to send it back to Mumbai)
windows problem was not solved but android was intact. when tried System restore, windows problem solved but android not booting, when disk clone restore attempted nothing was booting. when restore from Disk back up was done only windows was restoring. Hence they have locked somewhere.
I have tried to install Android -x86 5x it is 32 bit but not EFI compatible . No other s like 4.4, 6.0 etc is successful (these are installed at c drive, not same as manufacturer provided which hides in some partition )
In view of this , if windows corrupts and becomes non bootable , only Windows 10 32 bit UEFI version may be installed as per the procedure specified at initial [But screen auto rotation does not work, OS Switch is missing but we can go to bios (esc key to be pressed while booting) switch OS-but the may considered minor ]
In my case i have expanded my disk to full 28GB for Windows 10 and backup copy of OS and all imp programs like WinOffice etc & settings are stored (8GB) on my SD Disk of 32GB, which I also made bootable and selectable from BIOS. If any major corruption of windows occurs, as always saves my data on SD card, it can be temporarily removed and important work will be backed up, tablet can be restored in 40 min at click.
UEFI bios reset blind method
After some setting change in advanced video menu the screen blank
To reset / to load defaults we have to follow actual steps in blind method.
Press ESC key when you feel it is starting
Left left enter
F9 enter to load defaults
F10 enter to save
The following mentioned at Cube iWork 10 ultimate dual boot rooting at techtablets
please note that no matter what backup software you use, if you restore the entire disk image (specifically, the android partitions) android will NOT boot anymore. This is because Cube (or rather, their ODM) enabled dm-verity so the system detects that it has been “tampered” and just hangs at boot. to fix that you should reflash the official android image with the files provided by Cube, or use a modified boot.img (see rooting section)
Hey there guys, just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue as me, I have the TWG ces 101, pretty much the same tablet but with a different bios, I am having a weird issue with the touch screen, it worked fine before I nuked windows attempting to install android x86, and upon installing windows again and finally getting all the drivers working again, the touch screen is going crazy, every touch registers as it being somewhere entirely different from where you have touched, some spots on the screen when touched show up as 2 fingers on 2 random parts of the screen etc, I have tried calibrating to no avail as I cant even click where it asks me to, I have tried multiple versions of the driver (which I only found through a driver search program called SDI and right clicking it and searching the part number on microsofts download database (as it came up as unknown device and had no name)
not sure what else to really try...its driving me a bit batty

How to Install MTK drivers in Windows 8 / 8.1 / 10
what we need:
MTK Vcom Preloader Driver 2.0
Download : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24438995911977169
First thing we need is to Disable the Signed Driver verification on Windows :
To disable driver signature verification, we’re going to need to get into the Troubleshooting options from the boot manager.
The easiest way to bring this screen up is using this secret trick.
Hold down the SHIFT key while you click Restart.
{

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Once your computer has rebooted you will be able to choose the Troubleshoot option.
Then head into Advanced options.
Then Startup Settings.
Since we are modifying boot time configuration settings, you will need to restart your Computer one last time.
After restarting your computer a second time,
choose Disable driver signature enforcement from the list by typing the number 7 on your keyboard.
That’s all there is to it. Your PC will then reboot and you will be able to install unsigned drivers.
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Now its Time to open SP_Driver_v2.0.zip and start the DriverInstall.exe
it will open the install prompt . Press okay and dont change the installation path
Code:
C: // program files / Mediatek / Driver Package
during the installation it will start the verification window security.
Click on Install this driver software anyway
There will be an Error Message . - We Ignore it !
-Now Open your Device Manager and leave it open.
-Power Off your Phone and connect it with your Pc.
-you will see Under ports ( COM & LPT ) a Preloader unknown device
right click on there and click on Driver update/installation.
-Choose manually search for drivers
-Browse to C:// program files / Mediatek / Driver Package and apply.
-If all went good you have successfully installed the MTK Vcom Drivers. :good:

Windows 10 MTK VCOM USB Drivers for 32 & 64 bit + Driver install tutorial
To determine the version of Windows 10 that you have (32 bit or 64 bit):
- Right-click on Start then click on System
- In the System window that opens, in System section, you will find your version of Windows next to System type
To disable Windows 10 64 bit driver signature enforcement:
- On your 64 bit Windows 10 desktop click on Start then on Settings
- Click on Update & security then in the left pane click on Recovery
- Under Advanced startup click on Restart now button
- Click on Troubleshoot then on Advanced options
- Click on Startup Settings then on Restart button
- The computer will restart with the Startup Settings screen
- To disable the driver signature enforcement until next restart press on number key 7 or F7 on your keyboard.
- After restart you can proceed with the unsigned MTK drivers installation for your 64 bit Windows
- After you install the unsigned drivers, to use them again in the future, you have to repeat this procedure
To install the MTK VCOM USB Drivers on 32 & 64 bit Windows 10:
- Download the drivers *.zip archive and extract the folder from inside on to the desktop:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24269982087012126
Right-click on Start then click on Device Manager
In the Device Manager Window click on the first item – your computer name
Click on Action then Add legacy hardware
On the Welcome to the Add hardware Wizard window click on Next button
Select Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced) and then click on Next button
Click on Show All Devices then on Next button
In the Add Hardware window click on Have Disk… button
In the Install From Disk windows click on Browse… button
In the next window – Locate file – browse for the folder that you have extracted on the desktop at the beginning
Select the version of the driver according to your Windows 10 version – x64 for 64 bit and x86 for 32 bit and click Open button
Click the OK button to load the driver
From the list of drivers select MTK USB Port and click on Next button
If a red warning window will open, click on Install this driver software anyway
This action will add the following drivers in to the operating system:
- MediaTek DA USB VCOM Port
- MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port – for transferring the firmware to your device
- MTK USB DEBUG Port
- MTK USB Modem Port
- MTK USB port – for transfering PreLoader to your device (and recovery in case of bad or corrupt firmware)
Now we need to remove the device that we have installed but leave the drivers in the operating system.
To do that, in the Device Manager window we expand Ports (COM & LPT) section
Right-click and click Uninstall on the MTK USB Port
- In the Confirm Device Uninstall window make sure that the box Delete the driver software for this device is empty
- You need to leave the drivers in the operating system and only remove the device that you added
- Click on the OK button to finalise
Now, when you will connect your turned off MTK device to the Windows 10 computer by USB, the device will be recognized either trough a MediaTek Preloader USB VCOM Port interface or as a MTK USB port if it is bricked or it has bad/corrupt firmware. The SP Flash Tool will be able to transfer the firmware to your device trough this interfaces. Make sure you connect the device after you press the Download button in SP Flash Tool, as the communication interface will only be alive for 2 seconds if no data is being sent.

Lost IMEI Restore
A common problem many face in their phone is loss of IMEI no. This is results in no network detection by your phone. U can come to know you have lost your IMEI by checking Settings->About phone->Phone information. There under IMEI section you won’t be finding your mobile IMEI numbers displayed.
Don’t worry you can restore your IMEI’s. Just follow this guide and you will be able to restore your IMEI. I will split the tutorial into two parts.
BACKING IMEI :
-First step before performing all these things is that your phone should be rooted.
When your phone is in normal state with everything functioning install Root explorer and navigate to the below location
Code:
>ROOT>DATA>NVRAM>MD>NVRAM>NVD_IMEI>MP0B_001
-Now copy this MP0b_001 file to your SD card or PC whichever place you feel the file we be safer.
-Now download MTK Droid tools .
-Now extract the zip file and open the MTK droid tools exe file.
-Now in your phone turn on USB Debugging by going to Settings->About phone-> Developer options and there turn on USB debugging.
-Now connect your phone and MTK droid tools should be able to detect your phone. U should see a window like this appearing after your
phone has been detected.
-Now press the ROOT button present in lower right corner. When it asks Supersu grant in your mobile click allow. After MTK droid gets
access u should see a green colour box appearing in the lower left corner which means u have correctly granted access to MTK droid.
-Now click on the IMEI/Nvram tab. A window should open and click backup NVRAM and MTK droid tools would take a backup of NVram in
its folder.
RESTORING IMEI :
-Now when you lose IMEI first try this method. Now take the MPDB_001 file which you took backup at the first step and navigate through
Root explorer to this location ->ROOT->DATA->NVRAM->MD->NVRAM->NVD_IMEI.
-Now paste that file and replace the one present there. Set the permissions for that file as RWER-ER-E. Now reboot your phone and you
should be able to get your IMEI back.
If you still haven’t got IMEI open MTK droid tools and connect your phone and press ROOT again and give MTK droid tools root access.
-Now click on IMEI/Nvram tab and select Restore option and restore the NVram backup which you took earlier. Now reboot your phone and
you should be able to get your IMEI.
Extreme method :
-After performing all the above if you haven’t still got IMEI. Now switch off your phone and open SP Tools and connect your phone.
Click on format and format your whole phone. ( This wipes whole of the phone including NVram region ).
-Now flash stock ROM through SP Tools and after it completes start up your phone. ( Don’t be surprised. Your IMEI will still be in lost state
only ). Now root your phone.
-After successful rooting now connect your phone to MTK Droid tools and again press ROOT button and grant root access to MTK Droid
tools. Now click on IMEI/NVram tab.
-Now as you see in the image above you can see two boxes IMEI1 and IMEI 2. Now enter your device IMEI numbers manually in those two
boxes.( You can get your IMEI no’s from your phone box ). Now click replace IMEI. Now reboot your phone and you should be definitely able
to get your IMEI restored.

I have a solution for restoring IMEI:
In the dialer: *#*#3646633#*#*
OR
download "MTK engineering mode" app and start it
it will open engineering mode:
1/ go to "Connectivity" tab
2/ go to "CDS information"
3/ go to "Radio information"
4/ then select "Phone 1"
5/ At the top there is a command line "AT+" in it
6/ type AT+EGMR=1,7,"your imei number" (for example: AT+EGMR=1,7,"012345678901234")
7/ then hit "Send at command" (if you got error try to put space between "AT" and "+")
8/ go to "Phone 2" and type in the command line: AT+EGMR=1,10,"your imei"
9/ hit "send at command"
10/ restart your phone and it should work
You can check if it changed at Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> IMEI information
If your forgot your original IMEI numbers you can find them on the box of the phone
MTK droid tool recognizes my phone, but do not get the green button so root error. Granted permission in supersu.
If anyone is still struggling (like me) with the error: Initializing scatter file failed. Please check the name of the scatter which you load is legal
i solved by using SP Flash Tool 5.1552.00.000 downloaded from

Why on earth are you using such an old version of SuperSU?
You are probably using TWRP 3.0.0 which does not work on newer ROM versions. Try flashing TWRP 3.0.2-1.
Well i used it because it is said to work in this tutorial
The newer one didnt work either, as you said i think its the TWRP 3.0.0
I would like to download this http://www.needrom.com/download/twrp-3-0-2-1-4/
but i dont get any registration mails, tried to register with 2 different emails half an hour ago...
The version here on XDA is said to be only for P9000 Lite.
Edit: Ok got my login by using the forgot password function - the linked TWRP 3.0.2 and installing SuperSU 2.65 works.
Thanks!
also would like to know, can we fastboot the recovery as per all the other android phones i've used? And then custom ROM to our hearts content?

Yes. In Settings / developersettings enable oem. unlock Bootloader.
Then reboot to Recovery and go to power/ reboot to fastboot.
Then Unlock your Bootloader with the fastboot oem Unlock command.
After that you can use fastboot.

as i mentioned in my guide. very first of all remove all kind of mobile related drivers and xfstk tood if you already installed. it is very important to install soc driver before installing xFSTK. moreover before installing xFSTK and after installing isoc driver you need to power cycle and connect your device to pc. and use volume down button. change the right flag value. and when using xfstk. load files. click begin download. when it start waiting for device then power cycle it. it will itself force into download.
