By the time of this post it's May 5, 2016.
Has John Legere responded to Twitter about this recently or provided news of any progress?
I upgraded to this from a note 3 that is running custom software and it's a extreme disappointment that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge bootloader is locked especially with T-mobile. Has any developer considered using safestrap? Please update me with the latest news regarding our devices and if possible link me to a thread being constantly updated with news regarding this issue.
Thank you. [emoji1] [emoji1]

If the lack of replies wasn't enough... There are no updates, there is no root, and there is no bootloader unlock. Sorry.

It's a terrible experience from power user perspective.
I'm almost ready to go back to Note 2 This phone is so great in so many ways but the most essential function is missing.
I feel you guys. I keep my note 3 handy because of this. If anyone else has news please update. Thank you.

Yes this is the Tab 4 forum and if you look in the General section you can see for yourself that a couple of the European 10.1 models (SM-T530 and SM-T535) have already gotten an update, all the other models are still waiting. Nobody here is a Samsung employee so no one knows when the updates will go out. Right now several of the models have working Cyanogenmod 12(.1) roms (lollipop).

It's fairly simple you just have to know which model number you have (settings > About device > model number) and then in the general section you should be able to find a method to root
Since this is a huge violation of the term open source imo I wanted to post thks here as well since this topic section is still active

Misspelled words and poor composition won't get that petition very far.

This, and the fact that it hasn't really helped in the past.
The real customer to Samsung is Verizon. Not us. We are just Verizon's users of which wealth is to be extracted from.

First rule of purchasing a phone: buy it for the features it has, not the ones it might someday get. Otherwise you will be disappointed.
You knew the bootloader was locked down tight when you bought the phone. There is no chance in hell it is going to get unlocked. Deal with it. If an unlocked bootloader is that important to you you should have bought a Nexus.

OP is a full fledged member of the optimists club I guess.

If only it had all the same feature. I like the nexus but do like samsung more for the little built in features.

Your time would be much better spent answering the call to salat.
Why would you do that!? You could use that device(as backup phone, standalone navigation or media device or use it with Google Voice for an extra number) or sell it or donate it!!!
Or dashcam.

Amongst the plethora of other things you could've used this device for you did this.
Also as an added caution next time you decide to do something like this again. Please remove the battery.

Wondering if there's root and Rom options for the T-Mobile S7 Edge. Had to surrender my Note7 so I picked up this bad boy. Great device but I'd like to root and flash something a little lighter and faster. Any response is greatly appreciated!

I would check the tmo forums, just a guess though
I did and only one listed in all of the carrier forums/threads which I find really odd.

I've registered etc and I'm in the UK with the Edge.
I've not received the OTA update though.
Maybe I just wasn't selected, or maybe it'll just take a while.
