Use the UC Browser, but do not like the home page, which has several sites advertisements.
I would like to know has some version of UC optimized without these advertisements?
I do not want the UC Browser Mini

Simple one, how do I set the desire sense UI web browser to display a full webpage not the mobile vsrsiln, the site in particular is chimet.co.uk which I use for kitesurfing. I can do this with the dolphin browser but want to use the standard one with the HTC bookmark widget.
Thanks.

go into the browser settings and remove the checkmark for Mobile View and you should get the desktop browser view.
Doh! Can't believe I missed that, thanks!
what browser is your choice.. me im using the native only because i just flashed..
but i like dolphin hd and opera mini(when it wants to work)
there are others out there i know and the firefox beta (forget the name)
so let me know ? im always looking for new useful stuff.
Native: comes with the OS, does everything except flash just fine.
I use skyfire! Because I want to be able to watch flash videos!
I use Opera Mini becouse is faster than others. I also have tried Skyfire for the flash support, but was so sloow in 3G mode.....
Sorry for my English, I'm Italian
Stock Browser because it does everything fine and i don't need flash.
There are other good browsers like dolphin, opera mobile, skyfire, MIUI and xScope. But I still prefer the stock one. Well maybe Opera mobile as well.
I have tried them all and the native brower seems to work the best.
Dolphin HD with add-ons + Fennec beta with sync from my desktop/laptop.
Stock one when I'm using a wi-fi connection
Opera Mobile when I'm using a HSDPA connection (faster, low data transfer)

Same here.
I prefer Miren Browser!
Easy and very fast!
I use stocked browser for wap, skyfire for wifi and opera mini " FAST" for mobile data.
Opera Mini here
Stock browser for JavaScript heavy sites, and Opera Mini for everything else. I just love how the burden of processing pages are done by the servers
Opera and Skyfire. I only use Skyfire when i need to see flash videos. I'm not a fan of the phone's browser.

Tried Dolphin browser, but I still prefer the stock one. It's light, and does pretty much everything quite well.
I use Dolphin HD... It's perfect. sometimes I use Opera mini too.
I use Dolphin Mini 2.0, it's the best when you consider all pros and cons, and I tested others as well (miren, dolphin hd, opera, xScope).
Can someone send me file original host of LGP500?
Thanks
I have read some Honeycomb trick to always open full sites. Apparently, all androids have some sort of switch. Please enlighten me.

In your "Web Browser" I'm Pretty Sure if you Select Menu/Settings... Then Uncheck the Mobile View Box, It Should Enable the Desktop View until its Rechecked!!

Skyfire browser has an option on the main screen. Makes switching really easy. Works well if you are willing to try a different browser or just use like I do and only use skyfire when you want to run the full website.
Thanks. I kinda wanted to know this too.
Now to find out how to disable flash to make sites load faster, and to lessen that damned scroll lag. >.>
nothing beats the speed of 2.1 broswer. :/

In the browser that comes with the phone i see no option to uncheck the mobile site. I too am annoyed by these stupid mobile sites. As if they were designed for blackberrys or something else crappy.

Use Dolphin browser, it asked you during installation if you would like to view the mobile sites or desktop.
There is also a plug in for dolphim broeser hd that, toggles between mobile and desktop views. Works pretty good, sometimed have to restart the browser, not often.

Opera does this as well
can't you go to about:useragent on any browser and change it?
I am not interested in switching browsers. I dont have a mobile view switch in settings and i dont have about:user agent. I'll attempt to locate the article which said all androids can be switched to full view instead of mobile.

You do have user agent string in your browser. This should work on all webkit based browsers. I had read about this a long time ago, and with a single google search this came up.
http://lifehacker.com/#!5547037/change-the-user-agent-on-an-android-phone
The useragent string may or may not work depending on which ROM you are running. Back when I had stock eclair jfd I tried the user agent trick and all that did was crash my browser. Even rebooting wouldn't fix it, I had to factory reset
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7313019&postcount=5
I have froyo.ka6 and haven't tried it again, nor am I interested in trying it again since I have both Miren and Dolphin HD (both of which allow toggling of user agent AND have flash support).
I don't use stock browser anymore. Everyone says it's the fastest but I can't see any speed difference opening same sites with Dolphin HD or Miren...maybe in benchmarks you will see a few milliseconds?
Correct, i do have access to additional settings with about:command but don' have access to UAString which is needed to switch settings. Anyway the more i read about the subject, i found it was only temporary - per browser session. That is a waste of my time so i am moving along. i have eugenes froyo 2.2
If you want full vs mobile websites you definitely need to try another browser. You have lots of choices. Since you're running froyo you don't need the skyfire video capabilities 2.2 has flash video built-in.
Best free browsers for froyo (IMO)
Miren
Dolphin Mini
Dolphin HD (ad supported)
Opera Mobile 10 beta is ok but slower
Firefox is slowest but still in beta
Proxy browsers: (I don't like proxy browsers)
Skyfire
Opera Mini
Fastest for rendering / navigation are Dolphin HD and Miren.
There are a few others out there (xScope, Maxthon, UCWEB, Infinity).
All I can say is try them all decide which you like best - All have their pros and cons but they are all better than stock.
http://www.opera.com/mobile/new/
Great as usual.
However - the Flash support is better on native Android browser which is amazing to be honest.
i'm curious about opera or operamini
what's the diference ?
which one do you use ?
Opera Mobile is the one which does the webpage processing natively on your phone.
Opera Mini, you get preprocessed optimized pages from Opera servers (saves bandwidth for data size constrained plans). That is also achievable in Opera Mobile if you turn on Opera Turbo feature.
As for me I use Opera Mobile because my browsing is slower when using Opera servers (in Opera Mini).
@doministry, for the flash, is this handled by the flash app and not the browser?
As jtdc said.
Opera minis servers also don't process flash for you.
I tend to use Mobile for general surfing and Mini for when I'm abroad and need to keep data down or if in a 2G only area to increase speeds. As the bookmarks sync, it makes this easy.
Never realised what the Turbo option did though. Does that mean that turning it off brings it back to native and can actually speed web pages up?
I think its worth mentioning that Opera is the only browser on Android for 2.3 that does hardware acceleration. That means scrolling is super smooth like on an iPhone.
> Never realised what the Turbo option did though. Does that mean that turning it off brings it back to native and can actually speed web pages up?
When you turn Turbo off in Opera Mobile, the webpages are served directly to your phone, your phone does the rendering and all, the webpage and data comes from the webserver sources directly, not Opera servers.
The only reason why Opera Mobile would be faster than Opera Mini, is when the internet connection (link) from Opera servers to your phone ISP is slow. On most cases, Opera Mini should be faster as the webpages served from there are already compressed and optimized for delivery to phones. My issue is exceptional, my current ISP connection to Opera servers seems so slow, so I do not use Turbo function (or Opera Mini).

Unfortunately in some areas it doesn't match native Android browser.

Any specifics? I only use the stock browser when logging in to wifi authenticators, I may be missing what else does it offer. Thanks.

Well stock browser handles flash like desktop, Opera NOT.
And Opera Mobile is smoother sometimes plus has better UI, more intuitive.
However stock browser does a little bit better job in text reflow.
And mobile Facebook works better on stock too..
Most of the time the browsers that i use freezes, i tried ucweb, ASUS browser , both of them freezes, im using viper 3.1
