I just brought the VW car joying andriod headunit
SKU: JY-VQ127
. From China Warehouse
. Compatible for 2014-2016 VW car model
. Quad Core Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS Capacitive Touch screen on VW
. CPU: RK3188 1.6GHz Cortex A9 Quad Core, Resolution 1024*600
. RAM：DDR3 1G, 16 GB memory
i searched high and low in this forum and tried to root with
*#hct#root# - which gave me a invalid password error comes up
i tried using kingroot and getting error " root access is unavailable model : rk3188"
just wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction with instruction
on where and how to root these

*#hct#root# should be the correct root password. Here is the WiKi with rooting information.
Then I used SuperSU from Google Play.
Other rooting software just messed my system up and I had to re-flash the ROM.

i tried it again 3 times today and the 3rd time worked
the first 2 time i tried ( offline no internet connection ) the 3rd time i tether off my phone and tried it then it worked.. not sure if you need to be connected or not?
or maybe my fat fingers lol

I have the 8081 model running 4.4.2. I am having issue with the stock play store app connecting. I was curious if anyone had a URL for this company where firmware and software updates can be found.
I recently bought the AVIN Avant 2 Android head unit, but I can't seem to find reliable info on modding it. when I try to look up the MCU in settings, I come up with CA03-AL 0.1.50 NXP662x which looks nothing like the MCU versions I've seen posted here. Am I SOL on flashing a ROM/MCU for this head unit?

Why on earth do you buy a old unit with a dual core cpu and jellybean os.
I got a quad core cpu and 2gb mem with kitkat (later it will be updated to Lollipop)
Waiting on Tommy to give me the download to the update -- he hasnt replied to emails.
I just picked one up and it have MCU Ver CA03-AL 0.1.13 NXP6624
But no idea what the latest build is -- Mine is running R4.0.0.0

Because it was made specifically for my car. No need to use an install kit. Plug it up, slide it in. Still, the hardware shouldn't have an impact on the ability to flash a new ROM.

I got the updated ROM with root. But Everytime I try to mount system as r/W it reverts to read only.
I have a newer version of EasyConnected but due to signature mismatch I can't install it...

Hi all,
I have an Android head unit in my car running 6.0.1 Marshmallow, it's an Xtrons TCD629A.
About device returns:
Processor type - QuadCore-R16
Android version - 6.0.1
MCU version - 5.3.19-36-10-E50201-170215
System version - V7.3.1_20170505.204845_MLT1-DVD
DVD version - 2.13.15-1200xh-150417
Searching online it is very hard to find much information on this unit (I should have got an RK3188 based unit as there's a world of information about them).
So far I have tried: KingRoot, KingoRoot and One Click Root. None of which have provided root access after multiple attempts.
KingoRoot offers the most interesting result, it gets to 90% and pauses for a few minutes, then the screen flickers a bit and the unit restarts so it is obviously attempting something that doesn't agree with the unit, but at the same time isn't causing it any harm.
Does anybody have any advice which may help with rooting this device, or alternatively a pre-rooted restore image. In the case of flashing a pre-rooted image to the device, I am happy with anything from KitKat to Marshmallow.

Would it work for a Xtrons TS702L at all?
Hi, bought this unit a couple of months ago and it's been working great. I would like to install some custom roms but i don't know what type of mcu it has.
The model is a EONON GA7158S with the following information:
- Processor: QuadCore T3
- Android version: 6.0.1

Well... searched a bit and found a russian forum where they have some information about my model and apparently mine is not a mtcb unit. They have some firmwares and i proceeded to install one with the android version 7. Now im stuck on the android boot logo... tried the reset button but nothing, tried installing the previous version using recovery same thing..
Any help is appreciated

Hi, if you have online update for canbus, MCU and system in factory or developer settings please update softwares there.
If not having this option contact your seller to improve device - ask firware update system.
