Hi all,
today my OP2 suddently lost access to all my custom ringtones, notification tones and alarm tones. All my custom tones are still in the folder but when I tried to access the phone to change the ringtones for example, my phone was unable to locate any of those files, only showing the default system's tones.
Does anyone know how to fix this or know why this happen to my phone? I'm on the latest official stock ROM and didn't install any new apps when this happened.
Thanks!

So i bought a new Galaxy S4 19505 and i like everything about this phone till i found a major problem. Any picture or video on the phone doesn't show up in the stock gallery, only the pictures or videos taken by the camera application would show up. I told myself that this isn't a big issue and i installed quickpic which is somehow better than the stock gallery and works perfectly. However today i discovered that my phone doesn't detect any ringtones installed or any alarm tones! the same goes for the notification sounds, the three lists are just empty!
I tried installing several media scan applications from the playstore, i understand that such applications manually trigger the Android Media Scanner to run so it would detect new media files but unfortunately all of those applications fail on startup.
Now i suppose that my media scanner file is corrupted, so is there anyway i could replace it?
Thanks in advance.

Assuming you have correctly diagnosed the problem (which I have no idea) then what you are describing is a corrupted system file.
As long as it's only a system file that is corrupted and not the storage card itself, you should be able to fix this by using Odin to reflash your stock firmware. This will wipe your phone clean and restore everything fresh. And I mean everything. So if you have photos or music on their you want to keep, put it on an external SD card or move it to a PC or something.
This will wipe out the corrupted system file and replace it with a good one.
You can also root the device and install custom software, which will basically do the same thing but give you a completely different operating system. (Well...somewhat different. It'll still be Android. Just a different flavor.)
If the internal storage is physically damaged, then there is nothing you can do.
I had trouble setting a custom txt tone on my M8 after the Marshmallow update. The fix was to go into the settings menu then apps go to messages and then look at permissions and click on the storage option then you can set your own tone.
hello everyone,
i am wondering if someone can help me with an issue i am having. today i had my nexus 4 connected to my windows 10 computer but later on i found that it no longer plays my notifications and ringtones. at first i thought it was unable to access the internal memory anymore but i am able to access it threw astro file manager. i have tried moving the folders onto my computer and then copying them back and still i am not able to go an select my downloaded ringtones or notifications ever after a reboot. i am currently running stock android 5.1.1 lollipop
any help would be appreciated.
When chosing the way I wanted to set a custom ringtone, I accidentally pressed google disc button and now it doesn't show me the option to add a ringtone from the device's storage. How do I reset it?
I normally copy my ringtones to folder called Ringtones and they appear then in the list automatically after rebooting the phone.
Ringtone choice locked to Google drive
Hello! Same issue, after trying to access music on my Google drive as Ringtone, my GS8+ doesn't allow to get back to internal storage. Tried reboot but no progress. Help very welcome.

Settings-Apps-Google Drive-Set as default and chose "clear defaults".
Ringtone choice
Excellent! It worked perfectly thanks
I have a customized MiNovo ROM that started to work incorrectly and decided to restore a clean system from a backup. After that the problems with notifications in telegram started, i.e. having installed different sounds on each contact, telegram still plays pre-installed system sounds.
Also tried to install other ROM, and there the same problem, what can be the problem ?
