LeEco CEO Jia Yueting: “Apple is outdated” - LeEco Le 1S Guides, News, & Discussion

It’s often said that first impressions are the most important, so make each one count.
Such is indeed the impression Jia Yueting inevitably left in his first international television interview.

Mr. Yueting, the 43-year old CEO of China’s LeEco conglomerate, was recently interviewed by CNBC
during this past weekend’s China Entrepreneur Club event, and had a number of bold statements to offer,
including some very critical ones pertaining to Apple.
Mr. Yueting called the house that Steve Jobs built “outdated”
and cited such a belief as the reason Cupertino is losing momentum in China:
One of the most important reasons [for slowing sales]
is that Apple’s innovation has become extremely slow.
For example, a month ago Apple launched the iPhone SE.
From an industry insider’s perspective, this is a product with a very low level of technology…
We think this is something they just shouldn’t have done.

Is this an actual Android phone?

I saw an article about gambling with Android and I don't recognize the phone in the picture. It doesn't have any branding besides the Google on the back. Anyone know if this is a legit phone and whose it is? I like it!

I don't think so. It's one of those mockups that was made when there were rumors of Google making a mobile phone themselves. Before it was known that Android would be just the OS.
looks like it running WinMo, look at the icons on the screen.
Yeah that screenie is of a device running Windows Mobile 5.
it could have been an early prototype for the mytouch, who knows. a lot of prototypes never make it to the mainstream.
That orange square on the top of the front is the logo for the UK service provider orange.

its not a prototype nor could it have been.. Its obviously running winmo not android, therefor if it was a prototype for a phone it would have been a winmo based one not an android based one..

LeMall is at the epicenter of LeEco’s industry-leading e-commerce experience, it is one facet that ties the entire ecosystem together with a single-stop e-commerce platform that breaks the boundaries of platform, content, device and application.
Considering LeEco’s amazing success in India with the launch of its #SuperPhones Le 1s and Le Max, and its burgeoning LeMe Community filled with outstanding #SuperFans, it doesn’t take a genius to realize that LeMall is going to be yet another success in a year that has already been very successful for LeEco and its community of #SuperFans!

Sony confirms Nougat update!

Sony has unveiled its plans to release 7.0 update for its top devices, and that includes X Performance. Although an obvious thing, it's good to hear from company, and know that it's paying attention.

Elephone False Advertising

I've come to notice the images Elephone uses to advertise their phone are highly modified. As you can see below, the advertised renders show non-existent bezels which are not true to life. I'm interested to hear how others feel about this.

Yes..they claim many things in the phone like android pay, fast charge and 0.1 second fingerprint
All respect to you Andythedev and not to excuse Elephone - but all Makers are guilty of such practise to some extent or other - unless they are hit with fine or mass social media 'something-gate' , zero will happen. All we can do is -
1) NEVER , EVER, PRE-ORDER
2) Check the reviews and do your research - as you showed in your post the actual images of bezels vs their market blurb.
3) If such anomaly is known, is it a show stopper?
4) Buy / do not buy ... based on the previous 1,2,3 formula

Google Pixel Trounced Apple's iPhone Over the Holiday Weekend

Personally I realized why Google held back sales and deliveries for November 21-23 to 28th now.. Imho to deliberatly elevate sales/activation numbers artificially for this date..

Lol, now that's how you put a positive twist on a small number (actual phones sold). They are on pace to sell what, 3m by the end of the year, where Apple sold 45m iPhones just in the last quarter? Love the enthusiasm, but its a very sensational headline.

Considering Apple has had about 9 years to build up the iPhone brand, I think it's a good number for the Pixel now that it's just starting out.
