Poor phone signal.
I have reinstalled the latest official firmware, then a custom rom again. The imei matches the original. Any other ideas please?
Do I need to replace the antenna?!
Thanks...
Correct modem and CSC for your network ??
Hello,
I have the same problem, I have the latest ROM for my country and the good CSC (my phone as Lollipop) .
I don't understand why I have this problem, and in my house, when I was under kit-kat 4.4.2 at the same place I have a good signal, but now I have some time no signal or a very poor signal.
If i don't find a way to repair this problem, i think return with kit-kat.
Hi. Let me know if it works!

I wanted to downgrade the firmware on my galaxy S4 I9500 from BMG9 to BMG1 for the battery life because even when I bought a new original battery from samsung still the drain is high but the phone doesn't get hot as before. When I install the older firmware, the phone loses the mobile network signal and doesn't connect even if I choose the network manually so I have to reinstall the BMG9 again for it to work, can anybody help me with this situation? Thanks
Edit:
I found a solution through flashing the MG1 firmware with MG9 modem through odin but will this work as MG1 or the modem is controlling all the battery drainage and cell signal. I also believe that the problem came from a faulty imei??
Hello there,
I installed the latest CM from the official website and now I have problems with my signal.
Most of the times, the phone can not find a signal. Sometimes it catches it, but it will last for 4-5 minutes. If I go into flight mode and come back, the signal will be there for 1 minute. When I don't have signal, there's the R near the signal bar (Roaming).
I haven't changed my modem with the new installation (I9505XXUAMDC). I am on the O2 / TESCO Mobile network in Ireland.

Hi mate ,
I assume you have an I9505 , there is know issue with modem/bootloader incompatibility you may have to use a modem wifi fix or upgrade the bootloader to use the newer modems

Hi mate ,
If i am not wrong that is a 4.2.2 modem , if you don't worry about the warranty anymore i would get the full package
MODEM / LTE / BOOTLOADER
I fixed it by installing the modem+Wi-Fi fix. I was afraid of installing the bootloader, as if something goes wrong when installing the modem, it can be fixed, but I don't think it's the same with the bootloader
Hello.
I need help with my i9505 phone. This phone was for france but i am living in greece and i could have very good signal (3g and lte) while it was on stock firmware. One day i decided to flash custom rom (cm11). Since then i have disconnections for my signal (even gsm only) with message no service. I tried to roll back to stock firmware using odin but i have the same results. I think my problem is csc because i cannot change with csc select. I am having an erro from csc select "does not support single csc".... Or something like that. Could someone help with this annoying situation? I would appreciate any advice or help..

Dial *#1234# if you are using stock rom and add the result here.
I am not using stock rom now. I am using cm11. I cannot use ussd codes.

Hi all,
First of all, I have a Samsung galaxy s4 from Canada specifically from Rogers. I have got it hardware unlocked, rooted and I am on Cyanogenmod 11.
Now to my problem, I am in the Philippines and I would frequently lose signal, if I'm lucky, it would re-aquire the signal but most of the time, my work around is to turn airplane mode on and off and it would connect back to the carrier for maybe a minute and fully lose signal again.
Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated as it is such a pain to airplane mode and off when I'm jamming to my BT speaker
Here's information about my phone:
Model: sgh-1337m
Cyanogenmod version: 11-20150309-nightly-jflte
Android version: 4.4.4
Baseband version : 1337mvluamdj
If i could help you guys, help me with my problem just let me know.
Thanks all for reading.
Signal issues are mostly connected to the modem,
Flash the right modem for your phone/carrier and see if it help

Hey, thanks for the reply!
I'm a little new to this, could you go in depth on how to do so. Or maybe direct me to a few links I could follow? I am not in Canada and this is my only phone, so I don't want a chance to brick it.
Thanks!
Edit: do I need a computer to reflash the modem because that is something I don't have at the moment.
Here is a modem list. It also has a guide on how to flash.
There was another thread that included the latest lollipop modems , but I can't find it anymore.
You will need Odin which means that you require a PC.
Go to sammobile.com and check what version you need for your carrier and country
Hello
Recently got a refurbished S4. Actually i can't know the exact model.
In download mode. It says it is the L720T model (sprint). But i can't instally any sprint rom.
I could install int i9505 roms (jfltexx). I tried updating lollipop modem & bootloader but i could only install Sprint modem (Updated from L720VPUGOH1 to L720VPUGOK3)
But the real problem is that I got very poor wifi signal. When near the router,it works. As soon as you walk bit away ,the signal drops significantly.
I'm still wondering wether it's a hardware or software issue. And i'm not sure about which version i got if i wanted to flash stock firmware. How can resolve this ?
