I use whatsapp+ and it has a badge counter

Thanks guys. Appreciate it.
Playing around with whatsapp + but is there a special setting for it. I have already tick counter but doesn't seem to be working
It's all right. Got it fixed.
Thanks for everything!
Counter is sucks, sometimes didn't clear the counter after reading messages. It happens often, if you read the massage via Notification Bar
Last Update didn't solve the problem.

Edit:
After recreate the icon on homescreen it seems to work now

It's a new feature in the latest whatsapp update. Don't you people read the update info before you click it?
What's New
2.11.238
add option to group mute dialog to show/hide notifications
add option to delete media files when deleting media messages
add unread count badges for Samsung devices (recreate your homescreen icon if it is not working)
fixes to allow more audio attachments
add Slovenian and Azerbaijani translations
I suggest you update Whatsapp. Mine showed up right away, but if not, re-add the icon.
Yes, I read it, but i overlooked the Part with recreating the homescreen widget
Now it works.
Edit :
Works NOT [emoji35]
Same crap as before the update. [emoji35]
Sometimes badge counter won't resettet after reading all messages.
No matter how i open new messages, via widget or notification bar.
Supposedly, this update should fix that issue!

Are you using stock TouchWiz launcher?
That counter works in TouchWiz if app supports it since it's TouchWiz feature. I use Nova launcher and don't have that counter (Because it works ONLY in TouchWiz, If I'm right)

And In Nova with TeslaUnread for Nova Launcher.
But without any 3rd party notifier app that badges count work only on TouchWiz if app have that feature + permissions
Apps with
Code:
<uses-permission android:name="com.sec.android.provider.badge.permission.READ" />
<uses-permission android:name="com.sec.android.provider.badge.permission.WRITE" />
permissions most probably have badges count

You don't need root to install a launcher.
Hello 2nd question I'm afraid. How do you get notifications to show in the app icons? I get the notification when I swipe down from the top of the screen but that's it.
Thanks
Use a launcher with support for that or a standalone app (if there is?)
I use Nova Launcher with TeslaUnread.

Hi Guys, I've searched a lot for a solution to my problem but I can't find one so I'm here asking for some help, please feel free to point me to another thread if you think this issue's been already solved.
As you can read in the title I'm on the MIUI 8 Global 7.1.19 and I would like to use Nova Launcher Prime as my default launcher, but I can't find a way to get a decent clock widget with some added features (weather) working. I've tried cLock and DashClock without any positive results.
ps: I've already give all permissions to both the widget, launcher and add-ons.
You should give Weather M8 a try.

Hello,
I have been using Nova Launcher Prime for months, and the only issue i am experiencing is that, it cannot add icons to the homescreen from the Google Playstore, and most especially, the shortcut to the Facebook groups i am managing.
This is the only setting in Nova that I have found and as you may see, it is already active but i am still having the same problem. Any help, please?

Is the setting is ticked in your Playstore app ?
If yes untick it, because if not, the icon is added to your Huawei Launcher instead, even if it's not your default launcher
Hi,
Yes indeed it was ticked. But now, i already unticked it.
The thing that I am also trying to figure out was about the Facebook groups that I am trying to share at the homescreen, but like what you have said exactly, it goes to the Huawei default launcher, and not on Nova.
Thanks for replying to my query btw ?

I just updated to Oreo and noticed that now when I dismiss a Notification the badge from that app goes away too...
In the previous version this didn't happen, anyone knows how to avoid the badge from the app disappearing?
Thanks!

I was also wondering if there is a workaround for this.
To be honest, this is the most stupid thing I've ever seen in a software update, now if you put the notifications to silent for - let's say- Facebook, you will never get the badges on on the app icon.
In Secure Folder, it is the same, which defeats the purpose of the secure folder (hiding notifications), so when I enter secure folder, now I have to check each app for conversations or messages or any other notifications they might have.
Samsung should provide the option to unlink "clearing notifications from the panel clears the badges", and also silencing and app notification doesn't prevent it from having badges.
Nova launcher, it works, but the tesla is inconsistent.

While this may be an "upgrade" to people with stock android, it's more of a downgrade to people who've already experienced the app badges before Oreo. The main reason I am/was a fan of app badges is so that my notifications can be turned off and I'll see I have notifications based on the app badge. I hope Samsung will at least add the possibility of choosing to show app badges for apps that are put to silent in a future update. Right now they just seem pretty pointless.

I just think it's a backwards move and if they're so adamant of it at least give the option to allow unread badges even if notification is swiped away

I really dislike this change and am considering returning my Galaxy S9 because of it. There's a thread over on the Samsung forum about this as well if you want to subscribe to that one to keep track of this issue.
Galaxy-S9-Questions-and-Answers/Notification-badge-icon-not-working-on-Samsung-Galaxy-S9/m-p/288959#M52
I'm glad I found a forum on this issue...
This definitely seems like a step in the wrong direction. I liked that I would get new notifications in the top panel and if I swiped them away, the badge Icon would still show that I had an un-opened message. This was very useful because in situations where I was doing something and I couldn't check the new message right away, I would clear them because I still wanted to see if any other new notifications would come in after, the badge Icon would remind me to check later, if i forgot, when I had time to view or reply to that message.
This feature needs to be added back asap, it should be extremely simple for them to implement and it should be an option anyways for us to link or un-link the notification panel with the app badge icon.
Keep this forum going!
This is simply ridiculous! Gone from an almost perfect touchwiz to nova launcher ... i'm really upset.
For a lot of users Nova Launcher with Tesla Unread also has an issue with unread badges. Particularly with the Gmail app, but also with the native Samsung email app. See the recent reviews for the app on Google Play.
If you contact Tesla Coil (developers of Nova/TeslaUnread) they will send you an updated apk to side load. This didn't resolve the issue for me but YMMV.
But at least they are working on it. But i really liked the touchwiz look. Mainly the folders aspect not reproduced by nova.

While installing the updates they will show the small animation when you swipe the notifications the bagde will get clear.. before installing also in the changelog it is mentioned.
You should read the changelog first...
It is the way oreo notification's are implemented.. nothing samsung has done wrong here..

Thanks Mike. TU Ver 5.1.0 still not working for me. Have cleared caches, uninstalled/reinstalled (twice), etc. etc. Still have persistent unread badge stuck on Gmail app, even though I have read/deleted emails.
Turning badges off/back on in TU does clear unread badges temporarily, but problem re-occurs when new emails arrive.

Not sure if it applies to your problem but all the permissions have been set properly?
TU - Settings/Apps/Special Access/Notification Access - Allow
Then confirm permissions within TU settings for selected applications.
