Ok so I got myself a qi wireless receiver for my Galaxy Note 4 910G which works reasonably well.
My issue now is that when I leave the phone on the charger at night and it reaches 100% charge it stops charging for a while and then restarts with the 'do-dip' sound. And that continues all night.
I suspect this happens when the charge spoon below a certain (still very high 99.9x almost 100%) level and it wants to top it up back to 100% as it can do that every 5 minutes or shorter.
Is there a way to tune the charging settings such that
a) it won't make that do-dip 'charging begins' sound of the charge is above say 95% ( just silently tops up the charge)
b) also doesn't turn on the screen in that case
Or alternatively
c) only starts charging again when the charge has dropped below say 90% so it doesn't happen all that often.
For the sound part you can use tasker or something like that to shut off system sounds at night. I have mine set so that if it is on wireless charging and it is 9pm-3am, turn off system and notification sounds. Then I have another set so that if I unlock the phone between 6am and 10am it restores the volume settings.
For the screen wake up, I use "gentle alarm". It has a night mode screen with a clock display. I have that set very dim and use it as a bedside clock. Since the screen is already on, I don't get the screen flash from the charging restarting.
Is there a way in tasker to detect 'wirelessly charging' (vs normal USB charging)?
At the night when I'm charging the phone, the wireless screen saver (or what ever it called) stays on.
and when I wake up my phone is a bit hot.
How do I turn it off only when I charge it wireless?

But then it will turn off my Always On Desplay when I'mnot charging too?

Is it the AOD that is on?
If so.. That is not the cause that your phone is a bit hot.
That you phone is a bit hot is because of the wireless charging and maybe not original charger which is not lowering the power if the phone is fully charged?

It's not the AOD that on, It's like a special screen saver when you charging (I already turned it off).
The charger is Original, I got it from the Samsung store.

You don't need a screensaver. Where did you turn it of?
Go to settings - display. At the bottom is screen saver. Turn that off.
But that is not on with stock settings?
Schedule your always on display to only turn on during waking hours.

Wow, I had no idea (or forgot) there was such a screen saver...
But I have a similar need, as thread title says, to actually turn off the screen when I place it on wireless charger, so I'll post my current workarounds...
Maybe someone has a better idea...
E.g. I use "Sleep as Android" app to track my sleep over sonar, so from my bed I manually start tracking, lock the phone and place phone on the wireless charger at night, but as soon as I place it on charger, it turns on.
It will sometimes stay on even though the phone is "locked" (similar to how Camera app can work with phone locked) so I have to carefully turn it off manually by pressing power off key (it is Samsung's flat mini wireless charger model (made for S6), not the stand, so it gets slippery to do it from bed).
Currently, I'm using the "Gravity" app that has an option to turn off the screen when phone is placed on wireless charger... But that is an issue since I also have wireless charger in my car and I do NOT want to turn off my display (I use phone for navigation) when I place the phone on my wireless charger in my car...
Luckily, Gravity app has exclude list, so I have excluded maps software that I use in the car...
Hello all!
I've got a Moto G4, it's all stock, no rooting or bootloaders or themes or lock screen apps. Just got 7.0 OTA a few weeks ago.
On a PC it's fine. When I drive home and plug it into my car, my phone is in the locked state as I get in my car, if I plug it in and hit power to bring up my phone screen the charging status continuously goes on and off.
Now, here's the weird part, if I unlock my phone while it is still plugged in in my car, it charges like normal (charge status not going on and off). Then if I re-lock it while still plugged in, it will charge normally while in the lock screen (not going on and off). Using the same cable all the time PC and car, just noticed this after a while getting 7.0 a few weeks ago, my phone didn't seem to be gaining charge while driving to and from work.
Is there some setting somewhere that's messing with this? Thanks.
I always used to shut down my Nexus 5 before bed and put it on the charging pad. This phone turns back on when I do that. Only work around is to put it on the pad and then turn it off, which is not always easy. Why does it do that? Is there a setting I am missing?
I think it is an android feature for the last few years. I haven't found a fuction to turn this feature off but you can put it to charge and then switch it off and won't turn on again.
same with wired charging
Yeah thats normal, indication that its plugged in and charging. I know Nexus did not do that and I always wished it did.
Hi, I got my S10+ yesterday and I had it charging on a bedside table. When the charge hit 100% the screen lit and as you can imagine that is pretty annoying at 2am. Has anyone else encountered this issue and is there a toggle I missed somewhere to stop this from happening? The charging pad is an official Samsung one and I never had that issue with my Note 9.
Edit - Just tested it with normal wired charging and it does the screen wake up too. What is going on!!
I believe that is when the alert comes on to tell you it's 100% charged. I don't believe there is anyway to turn that off, except to just flip the phone over when charging.
