Hi guys
I'm trying to install a custom rom, but every rom I try keeps booting...
In recovery there's an error with unmounting /system or something and nothing works...

Which version TWRP?
3.0.0.0 works fine, newer versions have problems mounting partitions

I'll try this afternoon
Next problem is if I can install RR it hangs on "starting apps"

Make sure you do a full format / wipe before flashing the ROM

Are you sure it's 'hanging on starting apps'? First boot of an L ROM can take upwards to an hour at times.

An hour? No chance, if it hasn't booted in 15-20 at the very most, even with 300+ apps, it's bootlooped

Hour is unusual, yes, but I wouldn't rule it out, I've had mine take 45ish once.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

I don't see what it could possibly be doing for 45 mins that it couldn't do in 15-20, and if it did take 45 mins+ to boot, I would imagine the OS would be so unusable and corrupted, you'd have to wipe it again anyway
EDIT - Unless massive amounts of media played a role, trying to cache / library everything

Recovery says me this...
Unmount of /system failed; no such volume
script succeeded: result was [0.200000]
rom simply doesn't boot after 1h15 min ...

If you don't even get a 'starting apps' screen after about 10 minutes it's probably not going to work, are you sure this is an actual g900f? The only thing I can think is that you have a clone using non-standard partitions so the ROM scripts are only half working.

Try resetting the unit to Stock.

Unless you're using twrp 2.6.3.3 it will take 10 minutes to format cache, it's a bug in all versions aside from the one I stated.

Once you have rooted your phone, you have to delete a file in system, wich overwrites the custom recovery with the original. But i don't remember wich file it is. I think Google know it.:cyclops:
EDIT: I found it: you need a root Explorer. Go to system/etc and delete "install-recovery.sh"
After that, flash a custom recovery. Now it should work.
What also helps sometimes is to uncheck "auto-reboot" in Odin.
When the flashing is finished, you just hold the power button for 10 sec (until it reboots).

[q] [bootloop]

Okay, I've messed up real bad. I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 by using this method.
I followed it through, Used the correct download (SM-N910F (International, Qualcomm)) andeverything.
Odin reboots my device, but all it says is
RECOVERY BOOTING...
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING

What am I supposed to do? I've tried to pull the battery out, reflashing it, manually put it in recovery mode and everything.
Still, I Get the annoying bootloop.
I know there is ways of fixing this without wiping it.
Thanks - Mackedack
EDIT: I don't actually care about not wiping it now. (If I have to wipe it, I will)
