some people discovered my Shield TV over Bluetooth and try to connect to it, which stops playback and switches to a confirmation screen.
It is possible to turn off bluetooth without rooting and installing a rom custom like cyanogenmod ?
Thanks so much for help
I found to disable bluetooth
I'm using Es Task manager
Go to the Power Optimizer section and toggle Bluetooth off

You will need Bluetooth if you want to use the remote control (the controller is wifi though, so you can still use that). There has been a long thread about Bluetooth discovery on the official Nvidia shield forums; I think they said they'd add it in a future update.

Just tried a few latest windows 6.1 roms and found out that my bluetooth headset (I tried a few) is not asking for passcode anymore (it used to ask to enter "0000"). On one hand - it's a cool feature saving you time and efforts to pair your devices. On the other hand- it's quite dangerous. Just imagine somebody near you (while you're having lunch) is playing with bluetooth on the laptop and connects to your phone without you knowing it. Potentially, he can download all your info from the phone. No good!
I was thinking that it maybe something wrong with my bluetooth or the ROM on the phone. But after I did a quick search here, it appears that Windows 6.1 has this neat feature of "automatic cycling of the standard passcodes" during pairing process. Is there any fix to this security breach? Or maybe I'm not getting it quite right?
well i still havent paired my headset with my pdacorner v23 NonRBSN rom but if you go to comm manager, hit settings, the click on bluetooth. On the tab Security there should be a box that says authentication passkey required. i dont know if thats bluetooth or infrared....but im sure its bluetooth.
Hope that works.
With all the wm 6.1's I've used it appears to only work with BT headsets... GPS and other BT devices need a key....
Cheers...
If that's so - it's good. I'll experiment with bluetooth dongle on my PC.
Hi, i recently got a HTC HD Touch on Orange which i bought on ebay. The phone already came loaded with WM 6.5 on and so far i love it except for one problem. I have a Datsun 350z with intergrated bluetooth. When i tried to search on my phone it couldnt see anything, so this morning i upgraded my phones ROM to the latest Dutty's_HD_WM6.5_5.2.23016.5.0.3_Leo_R5. Since then i can search and find the bluetooth device of the car, input the pin code for it and it is added in my devices tab, however nothing appears in the "Select services to use from this device" section.
I am wondering if nyone had any idea if i am doing something wrong or whether its jsut that my car doesnt support the phone? I was also thinking about reverting back to WM6.1, would that work? Also, how do i go about getting a vanilla copy of WM 6.1?
Any help would be much appreciated,
Regards

Just a quick update. I can get the phone to connect to the bluetooth module in the car but its not easy. Basically when i put the keys in ignition that bluetooth gets power, i then have to quickly search for bluetooth devices on my phone and then it will connect. Would be nice if the phone just connected everytime to the car like my Blackberry did. Is this hardware or software problem please?
Not that anyone actually cares about my problem but i thought i post the answer up for anyone that might be struggling in future.
What was stopping my Bluetooth working with my car was having WiFi on. When i disable WiFi the car + phone works perfectly together. In my particular situation i use my phone to connect to an ad-hoc network, and because the phone is not connected to the ad-hoc when in my car the searching constantly is causing the problem. Whether this would be the same with infrustucture mode im not sure.
I've searched other threads and other forums but can't seem to find anything regarding my specific problem. I can scan for and pair with bluetooth devices from the bluetooth settings menu. However, I cannot connect to any devices. It always says "paired but not connected." I have tried both soft and hard reboots but get the same problem. Here's the crazy part. If I use a third party application that requires bluetooth connectivity (such as text messaging, bluetooth file transfer, or PDANet), I can connect to the paired devices and use them appropriately even in other apps and with a pretty decent range. However, bluetooth settings in the settings menu still shows the device as "paired but not connected" even when it is clearly connected and functioning properly via third party apps. I can also connect to the NC from other devices like the phone or computer though the NC still shows the device as "paired but not connected." The reason this oddity is a problem for me is because I cannot find a third party app to allow me to connect my headset, keyboard, or mouse through another route. The NC will find and pair with the devices but will not connect. I'm using CM7 stable version 7.1 and it was a clean install from stock. Is there any way to fix this issue to allow me to connect to devices like keyboards, mice, and headsets, or can someone point me to an app I may have somehow missed that will allow me to connect to these devices through a third party app?
So I have found a couple of applications that will connect the mouse and keyboard but still no go on the head set? Does anyone know of a fix for the problem of not being able to connect from the settings screen or alternatively of an app that will connect the headset as a workaround? The headset is a Plantronics 520.
Guess no one can help with this one. Tried flashing the latest nightly build but that only temporarily fixed the problem. I'll assume this is a shortcoming in the ROM and keep looking for a third party app that might provide a workaround.

So you say you can't use a bt headset with CM7.1? I'm sure my wife did use a headset w/ our cm7.1 nook-color... never tried a keyboard or mouse... I have a computer for that...
Hi, as the title said, I’d like to know what app are you using to share your phone’s 3G connection with the TF101 using bluetooth.
I tried everything but none works. Pdanet, etc.
And every single app does only wifi theter, not bluetooth.
Simply, i don’t know what to install on my Galaxy S2; I’d buy anything if sure that it’d work.
Does your phone model not support wireless hotspot??
Just saw that it is a galaxy s2, which means it should support wireless hotspot..you should root your galaxy and flash a rom with wireless hotspot hack enabled, no app needed.
First you'll have to root your Galaxy SII, if you're not ready/able to do that you can't really use bluetooth for tethering (I haven't found one that works WITHOUT root)
Thanks guy, buy my galaxy s2 is rooted since the first day I got it, and by the way here where I live the wireless hotspot is not disabled, it works also without root.
I don’t want to make my phone become an Hotspot, because it waste a lot of battery. I’d like to share connection via bluetooth so I can keep it always on without enormous battery drains. Which one do you use, No_u?
Here's the steps I performed to use Bluetooth internet sharing with my Motorola Milestone 2. I learnt that from a friend who paired an Asus Slider with his iPhone, so I'm pretty sure Samsung Galaxy S2 will be able to support Bluetooth internet sharing without root..
One-time set up (configure Bluetooth pairing)
- Turn on Bluetooth on both devices
- On Galaxy S2 (or other smartphone which support Bluetooth internet sharing profile), activate "Discoverable" mode.
- On Asus TF101, (under Bluetooth settings menu ya?), search for the smartphone and select to pair.
Every time when you want to activate internet sharing via Bluetooth
- Turn on Bluetooth on both devices,
- On Asus tF101, under Bluetooth settings -> Paired devices, press on the smartphone to 'connect
Done! Enjoy internet via smartphone Bluetooth.

TF101 support Bluetooth Tether (use phone as modem) with bluetooth PAN profile.
When pair with a phone has bluetooth PAN profile (it has 1 more icon in device list, just like A2DP profile has a headphone icon), just click on it to connect.
Many phone have bluetooth DUN profile (Dial-up Networking) but just a few have bluetooth PAN profile (personal area networks). I bought a SonyEricsson Cedar J108i for this function
You have to search in user manual, phone wiki page, ... to know what Bluetooth profile is supported.
I bought recently a Xbox one s controller for me. Because it has Bluetooth I could play normally on my phone, but yesterday I updated my android to the last version of CM13 and since them I can't use it on my phone.
Now everytime I try to use it I have to delete it from BT paired devices and re-take them, but everytime I try to pair the android shows that the controller is connected but IRL isn't, the Xbox button keeps blinking and the app Bluetooth viewer shows that the device isn't connected
How can I fix this?
After some hours searching, I found in this Post a solution, where I just copied the remap file and it worked like charm.
