[Q] Time for a battery replacement? - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The last few months, I've been unable in able to get more than 2.5 hours SOT, on any ROM/kernel, even when configured for maximum battery life. Is it time to replace my battery? I've only had my OP2 for 6 months or so, but I have used charging current overrides to charge it at 2A. Could that have done it?
Here are some screenshots from this morning's battery usage:

I think you need to give more information! For example what is a clean flash or dirty flash for you. What roms did you flash?? For example hydrogen os or oos3. What rom is running now?

I've used H2OS MM, the latest 5.1.1 OOS with boeffla configured for max battery, Skydragon OOS with both stock and boeffla kernel, Skydragon H2OS MM, ResurrectionRemix Marshmallow, and right now I'm using Exodus with Benschold's custom kernel. I always clean flash.
I've tried Greenify and Amplify and Powernap and each of those apps individually, and both aggressive and conservative Greenify/Amplify profiles. I've also tried uber/linaro boeffla builds on OOS, and the snapdragon power tweaks.
The best I've ever gotten on my OP2 is 5hrs SOT, months ago. In the last 2 or 3 months I haven't been able to break 2.75 hours, regardless of my configuration.

Okay so flashing we can assume is not the problemm. Can you see any abnormalities in usage with programs like betterbatterystats?

go to oxyslim 5.1.1, flash boeffla, use zzmoove governor, don't install the facebook app, do 2 days

And for the record, my SOT right now is 1.5 hours and I'm at 32%

@magnamentis do you have any advice on his battery problem?

I am currently on the latest exodus nightlies and I can consistantly get around 5 hrs SOT. Maybe you should try it out. Im not sure if this helped, but i flashed a factory image of oxygen 2.2.1 using the unbrick guide. And then I did a clean flash of exodus.
Btw, I use no apps like greenify/amplify/powernap, in my experience, they have made battery life worse.
I hope this helps.

Your reference of "since" is from "boot", not from "last charged". Another thing is 50% alarm from "google play services" tell that either this is misbehaving or you were on LTE/3G for more time. I have always seen google play services to cause drain on LTE

My apologies, I'll repost screenshots when I can, I fell asleep and didn't charge my phone last night, hah.
I'm always on LTE, I'm rarely around quality Wifi connections. Do you know of any fix for Play Services LTE drain?

I have searched a lot for possible fixes but there seems to be no fix for that. Probably turning on location helps. I saw issues on google forum and several other as well but no solution. This issue is there no matter which ROM I use. The problem is that mobile data keeps radio active a lot , hence device stays awake and drains battery.

Best battery life ROM for Galaxy S2 (I9100) ?

Currently using Resurrection Remix ROM (KitKat 4.4.2) 201401016 # Basic, the older version released in January 2014, but the most nice and fast for me after testing more then 30 ROMs. Everything is fine, at least almost, the only problem which I want to deal with, is a battery life. Got anyone some recommendation for good ROM with nice battery life ? Spending 2% of battery just for booting it up is too much even for me with 3 batteries.
So, I open a poll with some common roms, feel free to submit other ones if they aren't in a poll options.
Thanks

Only stock will give you best battery life. And i recommend NeatRom. Of course it depends on your needs, but you can try any other ROMs based on stock.

Also had a irc client and browser running which it does not show. Torrent client was also running all the time in the background downloading some retro movies. I was also watching documentries off Youtube for 3 hours straight!
IMHO, Gingerbread has best battery amd smoothness among all! I used to get 7 hours screen time on Gingerbread, Sweet!

Regardless of rom, if you are rooted, grab a firewall like AFWall+ and whitelist only those apps you really, really need accessing the internet.
That wins half the battery life battle. For extra life, freeze or uninstall bloatware (particularly those that runs all the time sucking your battery dry).
At the moment, after having installed NeatRom 8th version Kitkat, Some MEDIA task is draining my battery for 58%... WTF. +gallery randomly shows 3-4 folders of 30... By the way thanks for your suggestion, I will try that

You can try an app like BetterBatteryStats to help you analyze and target the root cause(s) of your battery drain.
NOTE: I assume that you are turning off the major battery killers unless you are actively using them. By this I mean the screen, GPS, bluetooth, Wifi, 3G (switch to 2G-only mode), background sync etc.
To get the best battery life on s2 : dorimanx kernel is the best..u are able to reduce voltage/ reduce The clock speed . And still fast . Many more tweaks using stweaks to get the best overall battery/performance . The more battery tweaks or profiles the less performance . Always find whats best for you :highfive:

Marshmallow Battery life discussion LG-G4

Hi! Can you share your personal experiences of battery life using android 6 on G4? With details like, SOT, network used and signal strenght, tweaks applied on phone, background running apps? And it improved over Lollipop?
Thanks!
(And sorry for my bad bad english)
I'm upgrade today to marshmallow so i will post my opinion in day or two. So far i'm hapy with upgrade.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
Not sure Doze is working on my Marshmallow build.
I just switched from a Nexus 5 on 6.0 to this LG G4 and the Marshmallow ROMs don't hold a candle to the Nexus 5 in battery drain overnight.
Nexus 5 lost 1-2% overnight Dozing with a 2 year old tiny battery...the G4 lost 5-6% last night with a bigger brand new battery.
I suspect there's bugs to work out still.
I also switched from N5, 1 year and 9 month old, and had the initial feeling that the battery is not that great, but it was a placebo, N5 was super optimised, using Elementalx kernel, doze, Tasker, greenify vs G4 barely rooted and some bloatware removed. Actually G4 gives me 5 to 6h of SOT, while N5 was 3,5 to 5h. So if I look at the numbers G4 has the better battery life, even not being optimised for that.

Should be half that.
Give it a few more charge cycles for battery to get conditioned.
I m more and more happy with battery life. On lollipop i usual have 1 hour less screen time. My setup is wifi and 3g are always on sync, bluetooth and gps today are off all the time. My SOT is 4h 50 min with 8% battery left. So far so good.

nope, I don't use stock kitkat, but kitkat based roms, just like you're sharing your personal experience similarly I've shared mine bro.
I'm very surprised with my result. This is stock 5.0.2 with stock everything and relocked bootloader. All I have done is disabled background data for a few troublesome apps like Google play services.
I have 2 email accounts setup push. Bluetooth is always on and was on a 50/50 mix of WiFi and 3g data. Display brightness is auto.
Disabled most of the Google syncing stuff though. Overall I'm pretty happy. I want the 3rd generation Moto G now though.
I'm getting a 4 hours & 58 minutes Screen on Time with 5% battery left. Still a good battery performance for a phone that would turn 2 years old this coming april. I'm pretty much contented.
I'm on a 7.1.1 Resurrection Remix ROM with default kernel, Greenify was installed, wifi was on all the time, 1h 30m of surfing the web with Chrome, streaming videos in YouTube for 2h then browsing Facebook and Instagram with the remaining hours.
My result, i am on AEX rom v4.6
the phone is only 2 week old i bay it for 50$ ?

Bad Battery
Hi all,
I am only able to get about 2.5h of dot within the day. I got my Mi5s month ago and the only thing that helped me, was playing a lot with amplify (4h Sot were possible then). But nearly all application which makes a device smart won´t work in background anymore.
I hoped that updating to nougat will fix. But today... I am at 1h42min dot and only 27% left after 10.5h of use. I only listen to amazon music (over 3G) for about 2 hours. Some surfing, some whatsapp and i use my samsung gear s2.
Greenify is running. I also freezed qfp with titanium backup.
I don´t know what to do. Some time ago I tested the device with only whatsapp running... Got same results.
I ordered a new Mi5s through gearbest. Will arrive in the next 2 weeks. I hope my device is a little broken.
We wait new screenshot
