In the zip is as radio update, but also something else for the system.
But the patch notes are not saying anything about other Updates.
So I don't know.

Thanks buddy. I just flashed full 2.2.1 full rom and then the 2.2.1-x OTA. Then SuperSU, Xposed, Custom Kernel and so on. Booted up. No issues.

Full rom is up.
For rooted phone, just flashed in twrp. Then flash supersu, and other stuff (e.g. Custom Kernel, xposed, 4k hal mod etc). Wipe cache and dalvik cache.

This is not a blog, nor OP forums, nor a sales thread, nor reddit.
They a) didn't promise anything, be glad that you WILL recieve OOS 3, b) offer you to use a custom ROM and root without losing your warranty(!!!) on a high-end low price phone.

They promised that the update will be at the beginning of the year
But, you have right, sorry for typing opinion
They promised only that you will get it in Q2/2016, that is April - June, so they have 2 more full months if they want to...

Hey everyone!
It's 5:47am on this Tuesday, November 9th, and I have a firmware update notification in the status bar.
What should I do?
Devs?
: )
Are you running a custom Rom or stock? If stock, what is your current software and firmware version.

I'm running a custom rom, SlideMeRoot, with the first Mytouch Slide update applied.
Or SlideMeRoot is a version of the stock rom?
Then:
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Software number: 1.27.531.1
Images attached.
They are trying to give you the OTA. Don't take it if you like your root.

There hasn't been a text message sent out about any other updates. This is them trying to ruin your root access.

Seriously doubt it.

I also haven't heard about any privilege revocation updates in that case.
The OTA broke root for so many people it isn't funny.

Slidemeroot uses is older than ota, they are sending you the rom that cr modded(1.3.x). Upgrade to cr for new radio and it will go away.
Edit: read rest of your post,it may be a small hotfix, probably not 2.2 .Maybe 2.1.1

Sounds like you've got the OTA many of us have had for quite some time. Take a look at my signature; if your build resembles my current ROM it's an older OTA. Post some screen shots as you did earlier so we can see the change since you've updated. Thanks.

I've also had that update for quite some time.
So before anyone else suggests that very update again in this thread, bear that in mind.
Well what are you waiting for? Go ahead and transfer it from the phone and post it

Bear in mind the OTA update was more than just a radio upgrade ... which from your initial post appears to be the extent of the OTA you have had for quite some time. Interested to see the updated screen shots though ...

Dude (and everyone else who reads this thread), please -- I'm asking for guidance here.
So if you want me to do something, articulate what that is.
I will transfer the update from my phone and post it here, just tell me HOW.
Anything else you need: also articulate what that is and how.

It was more than a radio upgrade; it was also a fix for other slide conundrums.
So you want me to apply this OTA update and post screen shots?
Because that would be unwise for a rooted phone...

We're probably gonna have to wait for that a bit more. I'm currently on CM12, cause I don't like the stock limitations, so it will most likely pass a few days till they rebuild CM12 and include what 5.1 has brought new, so I'll stick with what I've got right now, which is 5.0.2.
So, we'll see some flashable ROMs based on Android 5.1 after a few minutes, hours, days, depending on how fast the developers move.
EDIT: If you're on stock, when the update comes out, the best move is to update your device through OTA, not with flashable zips.

Hi guys.
Basically the new official update for the Moto G4/G4 plus are around the corner (supposedly) and I have already unlocked the bootloader, rooted it, installed the Xposed Framework and made modifications with Gravitybox. Now, how much of this do I need to undo in order to get the update without problems? Or will we be able to just update it and it'll wipe out everything? In case that I needed to unroot it, how can I do it?
Thanks guys.
Everything except the bootloader unlock

All of it most likely, especially after installing Xposed and Gravitybox. Flash the stock firmware before the OTA comes out, or just wait til an updated full ROM is released on File Factory or the Moto firmware site.

Thanks, it'll be really helpful to get the new update.
Just a heads up that if you check manually for the system update it might find it right away. 5th month in a row this has worked for me first day first try, running 7.1.2 stock OTA now.
It worked right away
I love you
Has anyone on the beta got it yet? Its annoying that once again they leave us hanging for the official release and security update.

I know really annoying. I tried sideloading the full OTA over 7.12, but it refused, as the beta is a newer build date (but older code).
Anyone know of a way to keep my data, but get back onto stock 7.12?

I dont think there is a way to be honest. Just wait and hope its not as long as it was with the official nougat release.

The sideloading error might be because of the newer ADB tools. Try reverting back to platform tools rev.25.0.3.

Does anyone have a reasonable explanation as to why one isnt getting certain updates?
The only available update I have is the December 2017 one, but afaik that one is riddled with bugs, and I don't rly feel like risking it. The January never popped up, yet alone february and march one. I've tried all those possible "tricks" with Google Services, from data clean up, signing up for the beta program, factory reset; nothing worked.
I've been told by the support to wait for the batches to arrive; 3 times now.. On the Mi Forums I've been told to sacrifice goats to Chthulu.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Download and flash the fastboot ROM by Mi Flash Tool.

You are probably on nougat. You need to update to the december Version (oreo preparation) and then you can update to march from there.
The OTA updates are incremental updates from a specific firmware version so you have to go through the sequence of all the updates. You can't just jump over several in one go.
