Get Android N Developer Preview on selected Xperia™ devices - Xperia Z3 General

https://developer.sony.com/2016/04/21/get-android-n-developer-preview-on-selected-xperia-devices/
We’ve been working with Google to ensure you can get ready for Android N using Android N Developer Preview with selected Xperia Z3 devices, and you can provide your feedback on the software. Find out about behavior changes and how to get started.
Android N is Google’s next software version, and they’re preparing early for its release by making Android N Developer Preview available now. That way, they have more time to incorporate developer feedback before the release.
For developers using selected Xperia devices, you are able to flash Android N Developer Preview on 2 variants of Xperia Z3 – versions D6603 and D6653.

What’s new in Android N Developer Preview?
Google has already added a few new features and APIs, here’s a quick list of the main ones:
Multi-window support – This new multi-tasking feature lets users open up two apps on the screen at once.
Bundled notifications – You can group messages together, for example, by message topic. Users can then take actions in one place.
Direct reply notifications – Users can respond quickly to notifications directly within the notification interface.
Efficiency – Google has improved Doze to save even more power in Android N. There are also new behaviors in Project Svelte, aiming to reduce the memory needs of Android.
You can find out more about what’s new in Android N, see Android N for Developers.
How to get started?
Head over to our Android N Developer Preview page where you can get instructions on how to flash your compatible Xperia Z3 device. You’ll also find out how to return to the latest Android software once you have finished testing.
It’s useful to note that the Android N Developer Preview software is intended for developers and not for usage as primary software.

Long life to z3

Nice. Will this install do a full wipe? (Coming from concept edition)
Amazing that Sony are now maintaining three different software versions for Z3

Anyone tried it yet?

Xperia Z3 Compact will get N Developer Preview too? Z3 and Z3 Compact are the "same" terminal

[Request] Sony's Android Concept Marshmallow Build 2085

Hello everyone,
As you know Sony give us a Concept Rom based on Android Marshmallow. It should have been only accessible to 10 000 people, but, Thanks to @Jozinek, @jenkins-84, and @russel5 every possessor of an Xperia Z3 Compact can flash this rom, using Flashtools or using custom recovery.
Among the tons of great things that this rom contains, Sony gives us OTA update. Initially the rom started on version 2058 and everyone could update to 2085 BUT Sony cut, for an unknown reason, the OTA update.
Some people have been able to update their rom BEFORE Sony's update cuting, and this is my request :
Someone having a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact using Sony's Android Concept Marshmallow updated to MRA58K.Z1.2085-somc, rooted or not, with custom kernel or not, please contact me, via this thread, or via PM, so I could try to make an flashable update for everyone stuck to 2053
[NEWS]
Hi there, some people send me, or are uploading their 2085 files. Thanks to them for responding me !
In the next hour I'll be working for the 2085 flashable zip, if all goes well, between today and tomorow, it will be available !
[NEWS 2]
Not enought quick, someone made it before me, so, sorry for those who wanted to help me but jenkins-84 made it ! Will give the link here when he finish his upload ^^
it is online on his thread working fine except a few small things

Congratulations mate 7 tl_09 users, the general lollipop 5.1 has arrived 3/11/2015

Go now for those who decided to rollback to kitkat 4.4 , try the new general firmware for Colombia , all bugs in b324 were fixed in this b327 , download /update/enjoy .. for mate 7 tl09 only. I am prevented now from butting any links but search it now on consumer colombia region and download it b327 ,,, goodbye b324.
If they've only just released a Lollipop update, it doesn't seem likely we'll get a Marshmallow ROM.
Installed and thank you for sharing. Battery life seems to be very good. No Huawei keyboard. Carrier aggregation disappeared, don't know yet if any affect to network speed. In motion control, fingerprint gesture is back although not working. General update to speed and performance.
Hi,
thanks for the info - can anyone confirm this "General B327" working and maybe there is a changelog?
For me, I tried to update and around 5-10% it forced an installation error (I rebooted with no probs after cancellation).
Regards, Bacelo
I have downloaded and installed 5.1.1 on my MT-L09 and it works well.[emoji3]

Confirmed Working! I updated my Mate 7 L09 this morning from b324 to b327 and all features are running. The build is smooth and stable and slightly lighter on the battery. Knuckle screenshot works!
The b327 works very smooth at me, but the fingerprint gestures for the notifications not working.

What this is:
The latest version of Kitkat, the latest version of SuperSU (Stable) and the latest version of XZDualRecovery.
I have also included two downloadable packages (more information below) and a bloatware removing flashable zip.
-23.0.1.A.5.77 Global Generic
-XZDualRecovery 2.8.26
-SuperSU v2.65 (Stable)
Why now?
I may be in the very small minority, but I continue to use Kitkat despite its well known vulnerabilities.
The only other pre-rooted version 23.0.1.A.5.77 available on XDA is found here, which is outdated, and also a customized DE version, while mine is a Global Generic version.
Click HERE to download flashable zip.
Bloatware Remover:
This list is my personal preference.
I've done plenty of research on what to remove but more importantly, what not to remove.
Warning!
Bloatware Remover completely deletes the Xperia Keyboard, please install an alternative prior to flashing the zip, otherwise you'll be left keyboard-less.
Do not flash zip after flashing ROM for reason listed above.
First flash ROM, boot into it, download/'ADB install' your keyboard of choice, then boot into recovery and flash the Bloatware Remover zip.
This zip also removes the Xperia Conversations SMS app since it doesn't do grouped MMS conversations, Hangouts is not removed however.
Install the DLC package below if you wish to have the Nexus 4 MMS app.
Click HERE to view the contents that are removed.
DLC:
This package is a flashable zip that contains the stock MMS app found on the Nexus 4, busybox and a speaker + headset volume boost combo.
Xperia Package
Do you miss the Walkman Music Player since it's name was changed to just "Music"?
This package is NOT flashable, it just merely contains the latest versions of Sony branded apps that would be available via download through the Xperia Update app which is removed if you use the Bloatware Remover zip.
Install these apps via ADB or through your favorite package installer if you wish.
-Sony Videos App
-Walkman Music Player
-Photo Editor
-Podcasts

Hey, mate! Nice job there, I'm willing to try a Kk rom myself.. So thanks for this.
I only have one question, I'm on MM 6.0.1 stock, can I just flash your rom through twrp? And what about the recovery, how do I access it from this rom? Thanks again!
PS: My bootloader is blocked.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't MM bring changes to the partitions? Safest bet is to flash stock KK, install dualrecovery and then flash this.
Oh, I see. I just flashed Loli again on top of MM. Worked fine. I'M on 5.1 now, but still afraid of flashing this. (=

At the moment Just released for the following:
Z5(6653)
Z5C(5823)
Z5P(6853)
Maybe released in the following days for other items...
Has anyone else noticed double tap to wake is working correctly in this update? After testing it out this weekend, I haven't had the screen accidentally turn on while it has been in my pocket.
I have just updated and i can say that phone is smoother and there is no more lag when you try to view picture that you have taken inside camera app it shows it almost immediately also launching camera app is faster for me and photos are taken faster and with less noise in night.
Thats the things that i noticed from my view on my z5p a guess it the same things for z5.
Also mobile data icon is now separate from signal icon
I'm gonna sound stupid , but I need to ask any way. Where can I get the FTF file ? I just got mine today , it's a carrier bloated version I need to install the stock one. Thank you in advance.

Your carrier one is still stock. So what you mean you want a cleaner stock ftf, which will change the carrier or even the region.
Here is a list of latest ftfs, assuming you have Z5.

Probably because they will update to Nougat very soon

Android 7.0 is the last version update for Z5!

I am realy sorry to share that. Sony will not release 7.1 or newer version of Android for Z5. Already 7.0 released by Sony for some regions, but it was a big joke for all of us.
Stock Nougat features, it does not have more for a Xperia device.
I miss the freedom of Android after my Moto G and Nexus.

The OPs source is simply from a post someone made over at the Nougat update thread.
I doubt we will see Xperia X features in future updates, but I don't think this will be the last ever update for the Z5 series phones.
Ill only belive this when Sony make and official announcement.
+1 for believing we'll see further android updates...Hopefully!
Yeah, this device was launched on SEP 2015, so don't had two years of support...
And Sony with its z devices (Z3 for example) start in 4.4 and jump to 5.0 - 5.0.1 - 5.1 - 6.0 - 6.0.1... And that's two years+ of updates...
So maybe (if we're lucky) can't wait other update ... And if don't happend, well, we still have lineage os

Do not kid yourselves, Z5 won't get 8.0, it is highly debatable whether it will get 7.1.1. at this point. I've owned almost every Sony flagship phone except the XZ and they typically got 2 major updates and that's it.
I'm seriously think about wait for the nokia 6
Why? Z5 is much more powerful device than Nokia 6, if you have one ofc.
