HI GUYS
I know many of us are getting dissapointed when we are unlocking bootloader and having freeze issue,all our hopes of flashing custom rom gets washed away..
First of all i would like to explain why this issue is appearing
As you know zenfone 5 has only 3 variants a500cg/a501cg/a502cg.The most popular ones being a5001cg/a500cg.the process of unlocking bootloader involves flashing two files known as IFWI and DNX (both are .img).our motherboards comes with its own version of IFWI and DNX loaded onto them,when the bootloader is unlocked,the IFWI and DNX of the unlocking tool gets flashed onto the motherboard.If the two versions(one from motherboard and other from unlocking tool)gets MATCHED there is NO freezing,unluckily if the files DO NOT GET MATCHED,FREEZING OCCURS.......
So the question comes why do some phones freeze and other do not? thats because asus manufactures ships different motherboards but with the same model tag a500cg/a501cg
and asus only know why it does so...
NOW COMING TO SOLUTION PARTTill now what i have learned is that the only way to solve freezing is locking the bootloader back and flashing stock firmware..
Recently i stumbled upon a post which claims of solving the freezing issue.after following the tutorial you will have
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER WITHOUT FREEZES............ LINK==http://windroidica.in/2015/12/possible-bootloader-unlock-freeze-fix/
i contacted the developer via facebook and he told me that the linked post got some positi
I ALSO WANT SOME HELP FROM YOU GUYS,I WOULD LIKE THAT YOU ALL PLEASE SHARE SOME BASIC INFO,THE INFO GATHERED WILL BE ANALYSED BY ME AND THERE MIGHT BE SOME PATTERN DISCOVERED like phones manufactured after the month xx and year 20xx are having freezes..this will obviously help other users as they would be knowing that they are going to have freezes and would not void their warranties..

Hello.
I just recently got Galaxy S5 which appears to be only sold in Japan. There's some custom firmware installed on it which prevents Android to be updated. Phone doesn't have SIM locked, so any SIM card can be used.
Because the forum doesn't allow me to post link to a screenshot which shows firmware info I'll just write it down.

I'd like to completely wipe this firmware from the device, replace it with the latest Android version (6.0?) and root it. At first I'd like to know if it's even possible to do any kind of firmware changes on this model and what exactly do I need to perform the update/root.
Thanks.
Doesn't look like there is a 6.0 stock ROM for it, but you can upgrade to 5.0 here
http://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?r=&v=&q=SCL23
Flash with ODIN (Instructions all over the forum many times)
Okay, instructions on updato seems quite easy to follow so that shouldnt be a problem. Is there any recommended tool for root? I've found a lot of them and I really don't want to mess something up.
PS: How come there's no stock ROM for 6.0 even tho it's been mentioned in some articles that SCL23 model is also supported by Marshmallow update?
Anyone?
Okay, update to 5.0 passed without any issues. There are some default japanese applications on the phone which I cannot uninstall, is it possible to get rid of those somehow?
I have the same device Do you update succeeded or not
I installed Android 6.0.1 and the network was missing help someone Galaxy scl23 or give the firmware 4.4.2 or help to find the GSM network

Go to this link & download 4.4.2 then follow this tutorial.
Make sure to use key input from the options & use capital letters where needed. All being well you will have everything working again.
Make sure not to use any download manager for the download link. File gets about 100kbps so it'll take a few hours but you will get it.
I did the above then rooted the phone & flashed correct TWRP version to it then flashed 5.0 Lollipop SpaceX rom here. Everything working good & no loss of service on reset or reboot.
Hope it helps

Hello,
It would be awesome when someone could help me.
- Tonight I flashed the newest Stock rom (Security Dec 2018) with Smart Switch.
- Then I rooted the phone with TWRP + Magisk
- Then I decidet to deactivate the OEM Unlock
What would be the easiest way now, it looks that there is a new bootloader in this rom, so I can not use an older Rom? Is it true, could it be?
Can please tell me someone a Rom (what is downloadable and not behind a paywall) what I can flash with Odin or a simple other solution. My knowdledge in this kind of business is old and I nearly never use it. I tried it now for around 6 hours, please can someone tell me a noobproof strategy for a Samsung SM-G950. If it matters I´m from Germany.
Work in progress
-- Using SamFirm to download new Firmware
--- tried new German + new AT Firmware
--- both failed, is it possible that Samsung released a new version this night so my version is newer? Error Code: --- SW Rev. Check Fail (Bootloader) Device: 4, Binary: 3
I give it up for now
:crying:

Your issue is you are trying to flash older firmware than what is on your phone. You need firmware with bootloader version 4 or higher. Bootloader version number is the 5th number from the right of the firmware file name. A simple check of software version can be found in settings - about phone - software info - baseband
You can search for firmware using samfirm or sammobile or updato all are free to download

I already used Samfirm with 2 Firmwares from 2019. The Firmware-Package with the 4 Odin files had release date Middle December 2018, this are the newest firmware versions - In my oppinion.
The phone is also bricked right now, so I can not read out the actually firmware - I used the newest from Samsung - as written.

Can you still get into recovery/download modes
You could try a factory reset
Not sure what firmware your looking at but if from Germany on updato I can see at least 2 firmwares which may work with version 4 bootloader
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model
Edit: For some reason link not going directly to Germany firmware list
You will have select model eg: S8
Then use filters to select region

Thank you very much but this side sucks, downloadtime > 1 day
Can you please give me a filename to keep sure I take the right one.
In what specific position do I see where the Bootloader 4 is? My thinking was just take the files from end 2018 and 2019.

Samfirm will probably be the quickest.
File name convention eg: G950FXXU4CRKG the number 4 ( 5th from right ) is the bootloader revision number the higher the number the latest firmware available. You can not downgrade firmware ie: 3,2, or 1( bootloader no.)
The latest ones I can find for Germany region for the s8 Oreo:
G950FXXU4CRL3- CSC - DBT - December 14
Since I am not sure what carriers you have but CSC codes as far as I know
DBT - I can only assume unbranded(non carrier) ?
XEG ( 1&1 )
DDE ( congstar )
VIA ( 02 )
DTM ( T Mobil )
VD2 ( Vodafone )
I would use samfirm as it is quicker in downloading at least for me
In samfirm top left enter model no. SM-G950f
Underneath in region box enter ? ( I can only suggest using DBT or one of the above. )
Samfirm.will only show latest version available for your region.

I already used it yesterday with DBT + VD2. I will try it again
I think the problem is that SamFirm sucks actually. I can not download manually firmwares there, maybe the automatic sucks und brings me old results.
Now I download this here: https://samfrew.com/de/amp/download/Galaxy__S8__/ke8v/VD2/G950FXXU4CRL4/G950FOVF4CRL1/
I think now I got it. I thank all people what have inspired me. It´s flashing.
Just a final question, is it possible that MOST Firmdatabases what are promoted in XDA Developers are a bunch of ****, it looks like the owner of this ****sides permanently promote their moneymakingmachines here.
Final Notice: Because I don´t trust this side, I flash the Nov Version and than flash with Samsung Tool the latest Dez Vers.
Background
I have 2 similar mobiles (Samsung S8 SM-G950FD Exynos 8895)
I rooted one mobile long ago then decided to unroot it and get andriod 9 update as my other set has already updated to andriod 9 via OTA.
My objective was to unroot and update os to andriod 9
===================
Unrooting:
I decided to flash it directly with andriod 9 stock rom for my mobile
I downloaded the correct stock rom (G950FXXU4DSBA_G950FOXM4DSBA) from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G950FD/ , as i had other set as reference
I verified that G950FXXU4DSBA_G950FOXM4DSBA is correct rom by double checking my other set , check attached screen shot. Back cover of both S8 have SM-G950FD printed
Using Odin i only flashed BL, AP, CP and i skipped CSC as mentioned in video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6QoOItsYcg by @4:56
===================
What I achieved:
I have fully functional S8 with Andriod 9, But I cant do OTA anymore and my model number displayed is incorrect as well
===================
ISSUE:
Setting => About Phone => Model Number now displays incorrect model, it reads
==> SM-G950F instead of SM-G950FD
When I goto Setting => Software Update => Download & Install , after checking for update , it gives error,
Your current software is not supported. Visit a service center.
===================
Please advise !!! and check screen shot

You cant unlock the bootloader on these devices. Goto sammobile or updato and down load the latest and flash with latest Odin
Hello,
I have a samsung galaxy s10+ and I would like to downgrade android 11 to 10
I unlocked the bootloader but i cant get any stock ROM flashed that has binary version under 14 (E)
This is the closest I could get with Odin: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G975F/SIO/G975FXXSEFUJ2
Is there any way to bypass the binary lock?
This is the firmware I want: https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-G975F/SIO/G975FXXS9DTK9
Tried flashing it both from download mode and from bootloader, i get SW REV CHECK FAIL DEVICE 14 BINARY 9 error (or something like that I dont remember)
My phone is not network or carrier locked and any of that bs
I found an old thread where an user claimed to have successfully bypassed the lock but it is from 2017.. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/5-1-1-rom-sm-a310f-twrp-downgrade.3614602/page-2
Is it possible for me to downgrade my current device? Literally no stores in my area have galaxy s10+ on stock right now and probably won't , I bought this phone 1.5 years ago
Thanks everyone
Edit:
I found another similar post which is also very old and I doubt it has any useful information for now https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...amsung-bootloader-from-sw-rev-3-to-2.3650483/
