rooted Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

could i get marshmallow OTA update in my Samsung galaxy note 4?

Nope. I don't know whether Wanam Xposed's fake official status works or not though, but you can always try, I will suggest to not take the OTA route anyway.

How to disable automatic updates on Note 10.1?

I just bought a Note 10.1 2014 tablet. It's on Android 4.3, I have rooted it with Odin. I would like to disable the auto update to prevent it from updating to Kitkat. I have freezed FWUpgrade 1.2.0 with Titanium Backup. Is that enough? Or do I need to freeze/rename some other files? Thanks.
Just curious why you don't want the update? I have a p600 wi fi only and I have to say I've got much better performance after the update. That said my note 3 was awful after the update

I also found 2 other programs that could be updaters (Software Update v3_1308_2_1 and Software Update v6_1308_5_1), I have also freezed them for now.

I have my phone (Samsung Note 3) getting automatically updated overnight even though it's rooted (thankfully that was still on 4.3). Can anyone confirm that for the Note 10.1 once it's rooted I will not get any more OTA updates? Thanks.
I'm using galaya note 2 kitkat original and rooted. I tried ota update and an error message appeared and said unable to update my phone because it is modified

I believe with root, you still received the OTA update, but it will failed when you try to run the update.
Ok cool. As long as it can't successfully update through OTA. I have everything I need to use on 4.3, unless there's an app that requries 4.4 or higher, I don't want to update.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005 Official LOLLIPOP Update!

Hi all,
I just need to know when Samsung will update Galaxy Note 3 (N9005) to Lollipop?!
ANY NEWS ?!
If there would be any news, don't you think you would've already heard about it?
Samsung refuses to give even a clue about a Rom release. If you ask they give the old response that the firmware is in testing and may be released at any time...
Well as Exynos devices (however only for Russia) have got the official update I don't think ours will be much further from release. Now whether I will upgrade to it or not is an entirely different question. I think the update should be available within one month from now.

Yes, officially. Here's the link, http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/42405/N900XXUEBOA6_N900SEREBOA6_SER.zip/
Do check for what version it is though, I mean 16 or 32GB, I don't know that. Again, that is for EXYNOS models only.

Verizon note 3 lollipop?

Does anyone have a leaked firmware update to 5.0 lollipop? For the sm-n900v (verizon)
Every other carrier already has it out. I'm on 4.4.4 kitkat. And want to update. I will root if nessasary as long as it doesn't affect knox. Thank you in advance.
Lol you should really read threads and look for information before posting. Most people wont even bother with your question if its already answered in a thread somewhere . First of you cant root 4.4.4. as of yet. I have a bounty going to get some incentive to get root. But it looks to be locked down tight and i dont see it coming anytime soon. No your stuck reguardless if there is a leak or not you have to wait for the upgrade release by verizon i would recommend not getting the firmware if you want root and wait to see what happens with development.

Samsung haven't announced their release dates for the Note 3, but this list can give you a pretty good idea of when it's coming out:

Android 5.1.1 is out for Tab S2.
Because Tab S2 forums aren't available, hence mentioning it here.
Hopefully, Tab S gets it too.
Tab S2 users can grab it here - http://samsung-updates.com/details/51450//SM-T710/BNN/T710XXU1BOH6.html
Do you think we will get it?
Hopefully it brings theme support for the S2... a man can dream.

I can confirm that it doesn't trip knox, and that it does install 5.1.1. Here's the tricky part. When the tablet boots it still says galaxy tabs s2, then flashes the samsung logo, then flashes the nook logo. I have all my previous apps now with the addition of several Nook apps.
It's almost as if it's a random hybrid.
Indeed, I think it's a special one it has country code BNN "unknown" ,
there is also another one available which has country code XAR (cellular south) http://samsung-updates.com/details/51460//SM-T710/XAR/T710XXU1BOH6.html
it's not a official update.
Has anyone looked into the XAR one above?
UPDATE: the XAR does not have the Nook integration. In ODIN mode the Current Binary is Samsung Official and System Status is also Official.

I believe cellular south is an American provider (not a service I have). I have the WIFI only version and so far everything seems to be running smoothly.

There is only 4 ways to obtain a official update, downloading a rom and manually installing them is not considered official, I'm sure Samsung won't give you any download link to official rom.
Those are official, you officially don't know what you are saying....

if it's not from Samsung, it's not official.
Anyone have a Mega link for XAR? These downloads are ungodly slow.
you can use this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647

I would wait for @hsbadr do a safe upgrade otherwise updating bootloader could patch the xploit recently discover.... Some guys could lose everything by this point

I really can't wait to install the MM update, but I definitely don't want to lose root. Ima wait patiently for a safe upgrade.
I'd thoroughly appreciate if someone could upload the update.zip so I can check the bootloader and work on an update mechanism.
I think they haven't rolled out the update... Been checking for a while and says system is up to date... Nothing in NY
hey guys anyone know that when will marshmallow update come in samsung galaxy note 3 T-Mobile

Definitely agree. I'll stick on Paul until it's proven safe to upgrade to mm. I don't even care if it's a stock mm rom. As long as I keep my bootloader unlocked.

I checked Kies, Verizon Software Update Assistant, and OTA. None are available yet for me.
OTA is live.

Not showing up for me either

Just showed up on both my wife and my note 4. Waiting to find out if we can still obtain root before taking it though. I'd really prefer the official marshmellow combined with Cyanogenmod.
Western NC here, BTW.
Just downloaded and installed. All the icons are yucky now. My phone was fully stock so did not have the same concerns as some of you with regards to boot loader et all. Location is Boston. Seems ok so far other than the yucky icons.
I'm in eastern NC and still nothing. I'm OK with that though as I hope some of you will be the guinea pigs and see if there is any issues with it before I install it

I want to make sure we can still unlock the phone. We should be able to get a complete CM13 now if the bootloader can still obtain perm unlock and we have perm root.
I haven't seen any new phone released since our Note 4s that delivers every feature I want plus more, so I'm planning on sticking with our note 4s for some time to come.
