Most here probably have noticed that google in recent Play Store updates, now control your device security options. The only option to keep Google from checking your apps is to disable your setting after every reboot or pushed google play store updates.
I use disable service to control what services run in my apps. So if yoy find Google to evasive in controlling your device and privacy, I highly recommend using disable service. It is becoming the 2nd most important app I use now.

I've noticed in the last week or so, possibly more, that even though I have "Auto-update Apps on WiFi only" enabled, as I have since getting the phone last fall, it no longer Auto-updates at all.
I can open the Play Store, go to 'My Apps' and there is a list of Apps there waiting to be updated.
The only change I've made, which was made at least a month ago, and which I'm fairly sure predates this behavior, was to stop Google Search from autoupdating by unchecking the appropriate box. (It created some problems with my Bluetooth devices, taking over response away from S-Voice which I preferred, and some other issues).
My WiFi connection is solid.
I've turned off (through the usual methods) a small number of apps (Audible, Caller Name ID, Group Play, Isis Mobile Wallet, NFL Mobile, S Health, Slacker, Voice Mail).
Any idea what is causing this behavior, and how I can fix it?
(As a secondary item, it seems I can no longer access the option to enable or disable auto-update for an individual app - has this been moved or changed? I go to the App in the play store, and nothing happens when I hit the menu button at the bottom left, which is where I thought I remembered accessing that option before.)
Well, I found the answer at Android Central. Went to Google Play Store in Applications in settings, and cleared Cache and Data. Restarted the Play Store App, and everything returned to normal.
Not sure what happened to the Play Store App itself, but something had gone awry there, and the data/cache clear reset it.
Mystery solved.
Does anyone know where a list of the specific services used by Google Play Services is located so I can disable certain ones and still maintain functionality of ones I need to run certain apps? (Gmail, Play Store, Blogger, Maps)
I do not want to disable or remove the whole app, just freeze the battery hogging useless services I do not need or use...
Thanks
From the aptoid app store i had updated google play services and device policy, after that I am getting error message as unknown issue with google play services, neither I can not revert back to factory setting in aptoid nor uninstall google play services, if i try to uninstall google play services from play store, it says that u need to deactivated as device admin, and in setting device admin when i try to uptick google play services, i am getting error as unfortunately, setting has stopped, i am not able to use gmail and all associated google services app.

This is what happens when you get apps from a pirate store. Why did you download it from there in the first place? It already comes installed on your device.
I second Heisenberg's concern about getting apps from a pirate store, and doing system apps is just silly.
You need to fully reset your device and start again. Either use factory reset or flash a factory image via fastboot. Heisenberg has a full guide to all guides. Do that and stop using pirate sites!
hi
I have been using my Note 4 N910 h for more than one year and everything was perfect despite this annoying google service battery draining issue that i believe many are facing as well ..... it drains cellphone's battery as hell no matter what you do .
i installed Greenify and activated experimental features to be able to greenify system application including this bloody one , but i wasn't able to find it among them ..... why
any idea how to find and greenify it ? is there any other way to prevent it from draining the battery
thanks in advance
This is total guesswork, but I think "Greenifying" Google Play Services might F up your phone.
That's why it's not included on the list.
You could "App Settings" (Xposed app) and stop Google Play Services from starting up when your phone starts, but just have Nandroid backup ready.
If you look at the battery usage settings for Google Play Services, it shows the following as included packages:
Google Services Framework, Google Backup Transport, Google Account Manager and Google Play Services.
Some of those can be selected in Greenify. I'm not sure would happen if you selected them though.
Again more guesswork, are you syncing (lots of) data frequently via your Google account?
i.e. contacts, calendar, apps etc
This might fall under Google Backup Transport or Google Account Manager, which in turn falls under Google Play Services.
I denied all the stupid permissions it needed. There's an xposed module called Xprivacy, you can deny many permissions using that like keep awake and stuff. Helps, but don't mess with it that much. I don't. The guy up me is making a good point. Have a nandroid backup.
Just have a few simple words to say screw safenet.
Disable snet services and safe browsing update services in Google play services, and your device will thank you.
More details please... how did you do it?
TIA,
Rich
Used disableservice app. Open system apps, search for google and select google play services. Search again for snet and disable all of them. Search again for safety and disable safebrowsingserivces. Don't disable the other else you delay Internet browsing.
There are another 15 services to disable to get a max of 15 hours of constantly on use, depending on how much apps run In background and what kernel you run and it's settings.
I've rooted and disabled stuff, is this any different?
