Headphones not working for calls - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys. I've been browsing the forum for an answer to this but I didn't find anything.
I have my Nexus 6p which was working just fine. I use a Samsung Galaxy S4 headphones which where working with the phone.
All of a sudden, the headphones stopped working for calls. I could still listen to music or listen to voice notes even the sound of the key pad was audible, but after you press the call key, there's no noise.
However I can still hear the call, even with the jack plugged in, thorough the speaker.
I realized that if I tap the hands free key I would listen through the headphones.
Does anybody knows what's happening?
Thanks
Edit. I'm currently using MHC19Q build. 6.0.1

I'm experiencing the same problem. It started yesterday.

[Q] TF Mic not loud enough on Google Talk

Has anyone had issues using the TF to video call and the mic not being loud enough? I use Google Talk and while I can hear the other side ok, they usually have a problem hearing me. I can't find any settings in Google Talk for the mic volume. I end up trying to shout in the direction of the mic (which I think is located on the right side next to the audio jack). I also use the SE MW600 bluetooth headset with the TF a lot and Google Talk doesn't seem to output to headsets. That would solve the low volume issue as well. Any insights or confirmation would be appreciated.
The mic on my wife's transformer is defective, but my transformer is fine. We are going to have to send hers back. Try google voice search, if it has a hard time hearing you when talking normally, then you may have a hardware problem too.
Looks like I have the same issue. I tried using google talk today with no luck. SO I tested the mic with both the sound recorder and the voice search. The volume indicated with those shows a problem.
Its very directional. If I angle it so my mouth has some line of sight to it then its fine but facing head on I have to speak up. I wonder if a small plug in mic angled to the front would help.
I am surprised that the BT headset did not work. I use one all the time on my laptop with Skype.

[Q] Mute bluetooth music on phone call

I'm having a strange problem that I'm trying to see if it's bluetooth stack or CM 10.1 related. When I'm sitting here at work listening to my bluetooth headphones (Jabra BT3030), anytime a phone call comes through, the headphones mute and the ringer AND the music I'm listening to start blaring out of the rear phone speaker. I have to reject the call, stop the music player, and then call the person back. The headphones I'm using also function as a handsfree headset, so, in theory, the phone ring, music, and all answer/deny functions should be handled by the headphones. They've certainly worked this way on every other Android phone I've owned, so I was just curious if this might be an oddity of the new BT stack on 4.2.1, a bug in CM 10.1, or even possibly a setting I'm missing that's causing me this issue. Anyway, when I call the person back, the headphones take on the role of handsfree headset just fine.
Thanks in advance!
I am experiencing the exact same issue on my Galaxy S3 using Moto S305 headphones and CM10.1. I've been searching all over for a solution to this problem and haven't had any luck.
I figured out how to stop the music player audio from coming out of my speaker when receiving a call while on bluetooth. If you turn your ringer volume up then it won't send the music from the player out the speaker phone. When you have the ringer set to vibrate only then it sends your music out the speaker. But I don't want ringer noise either, I just want it to vibrate. My solution was to take my favorite ringtone and insert 5 seconds of silence before it starts to ring. That way I have 5 seconds to either reject the call or answer it before it starts making noise.

Test/Service Menu Speaker not working?

Hi! I am currently running Wanamlite v3.4 (GT-i9500) and just a bit of curiosity I tried entering the Test/Service Menu. All of the tabs are working, then I noticed that nothing happens when I press Speaker, but when I try pressing the Speaker (R), a loud music plays. From my understanding, S4, both international versions have only 1 Loud Speaker. I can still hear the ringtones whenever someone calls or texts me, notifications and also perfectly functioning for both video and music playback, so that means the loud speaker works fine. Then I have read in another thread that S4 has 2 speakers, left and right, and the Speaker tab corresponds with the Left Speaker? It is quite confusing.
Hope someone can enlighten me on this. I hate bringing this to a Samsung Service Center.
Many thanks!

Weird Speaker Behaviour

Hi all,
I picked up my 6P for few days. I couldnt figure out how can i listen to the voice clip/voice message properly from either Whatsapp or Line, does anyone here got the same experience as me ?
When you play a voice message from Whatsapp/Line chat, initially the volume is very low and you can barely hear it. And then when the proximity sensor under the top speaker is being covered, the upper speaker will sudden play the message in max volume i think, making everyone around you able to hear that message.
End up I can only hear those voice message using a headphone.

I use Telegram and voice messages work fine here on loudspeaker. If I cover the proximity sensor with my thumb or ideally, as though I was speaking on the phone by putting it to my ear, then the audio stops from the loudspeaker and plays through the earpiece only, so you can listen to it quietly without disturbing anyone. Is your experience the same as mine?
This is how u=it's supposed to be and I find it quite clever actually.

not exactly the same as yours, when i play the voice message and have the proximity sensor covered, the audio did came from the earpiece only, but at the extreme loud volume which i couldnt turn it down.

Speakers aren't working

Hey everyone,
since today my phone will not play any audio through its speakers.
At first, it was only media audio, i.e. Youtube videos or music, that would have no sound.
The alarm sound and my ringtone would still play as usual.
Unfortunately, after checking again this evening they don't work anymore either.
The only time the speakers seem to be working is when I put someone on speakerphone.
If I just leave a call as is, I can't hear anything.
Although somehow the caller - instead - hears themselves with a slight delay.
Everythings works fine with headphones though.
I've tried resetting my phone, which hasn't helped at all, so I'm kind of lost.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Cheers,
1919k
Ive got exactly the same problem. The speakers dont work unless i put the phone on speakerphone in a call. And even then the sound is buggy.
Did you install in the meantime any magisk module?
any solution ?
Exact same problem, and I had updated my phone 3 days ago.
