Has anyone tried using Android auto yet? For me voice controls don't work the greatest. (Moto voice/Google conflict , I think)
I use it every day with my 4100nex. Voice recognition was bad before installing a firmware update one the head unit from earlier this year. Check if there's one for your stereo available.
Figured I would give an update, may help someone later. I was on stock MM. I downgraded to LP and now it works great. I might make a backup and go back to MM just for verification. Haven't decided yet.

I have a brand new (June build) unmodified A500 and it's not pulling any OTA updates. The current build of the unit is 1.016.05_COM_GEN1. This is weird that it's not even pulling the 1.039.05(?) update. Yeah I know I can do the updates manually, but I'd rather keep my unit stock for the time being.
For the record, the microphone and gps are working very well on this (june) unit. The color intensity and uniformity is a bit off though.

You can manually update to stock 3.1 though...
Anyhoo, from what I read around here updates are given via serial number lottery, you just have to wait for your number to come up. I don't know if that's true though, just what I've read.

I've never received an ota. I was rooted and running roms on day one.
You don't need to root to install updates, just drop the update on your SD and go!
Let us know if you need help.

i'm still stuck with 3.01....i wanted to update to 3.1 and i tried to update it a plenty of times already but after finish downloading it says that invalid update....can u help me how to " just drop the update on your SD and go! " help is so much appreciate thank u
Have been waiting for this update hoping it would fix some of the bluetooth problems. However, losing Google Voice is pretty much a deal breaker for me, so I was planning on refusing the update long enough to see if others are able to root with the new update.
Does the new update come with a new system image? If so, how does the dev community get the image? Is it copied off a phone that has the image or does verizon release stock images for flashing.
Has anyone successfully root after receiving the update? If so, I assume this means running the new kernel with the previous route66 system image.
It looks like this person has http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29095607
It looks like we are allowed to downgrade firmware from VRALG1 to VRALF2 to get root using ODIN.

So I convinced my aunt to get the nexus 4 a while back. Unfortunatly its now not able to make calls correctly. Everything works on the phone without an issue just that There is no sound incoming or outgoing without having to put it on speaker mode (while in a call). This is a already know issue but there is not true way to fix it. We got around it by install the aplication called soundabout and unchecking something about the headphones. That got It to work... for a while. Now it is not working and am going to have to have to downgrade it back to 4.2.1? I read that was the only way. But I wanted to find a real solution. Or at least a reason as to why it happens to maybe figure out a solution?
Are you on 4.2.2? If so, you need your radio baseband upgraded to .48.
If that's not the case, then it could be a hardware issue.

there are a few ways to fix this. technically its not broken, they want you to use the newest baseband/radio, since it disables lte. easiest way is to flash the .48 radio, which was already stated. there is also a method that involves editing a certain file(found in the original dev threads).

When she brings me the phone ill have a look at it. Thank you for the replies. Ill probably upgrade her baseband seeing as how she doesnt need lte. I flashed the 4.2.2 images available on the google developers website. All of them. Do those images comes with the baseband that is needed? It came with the radio, recovery, and a few other things... I forgot.

I Found this http://www.randomphantasmagoria.com/firmware/nexus-4/occam/ but i am not sure what version to download? are they all compatible?
My phone is on the latest btu software but now has a permanent notification telling up to update to nougat beta. I don't want to. How can I remove it
I've deregistered from the beta program but it's still there. I tried nougat bit right now I still prefer nougat so went back. Can nobody help. Surely I'm not the only one
Nougat is great your missing out
I already used the beta for 2 days. So no I'm Not missing out. Don't be so ignorant and patronising.
I tried it, I liked it, I gave my feedback and right now the beta for nougat is not as good as the full released marshmallow version so I went back until they've improved it.
I'll take that as a no lol
Install a package disabler from Play Store and disable the update apks

I have been searching to fix this issue for days and no luck.
Whenever I use an app that needs GPS (Google Maps, camera), my phone automatically reboots when I am using a Nougat Rom on my Moto X Play.
Anyone have a solution for this? The roms run great other than this bug.
Thanks

Which ROM are you using and which one did you come from?
I went from CM13 to 7.x and had both GPS and mobile data problems until I went back to stock and then finally back again to 7.x. I dunno if that was the solution but I've had no problems since (currently on AOSP Extended, latest).
I flashed a bunch of them and never had a problem. Just before this problem i was using 6.01 Spectrum.
I re flashed stock and then went back to nougat pure nexus but same problem no matter what nougat rom I flash on moto x play.

Ah, unfortunately I'm not much help here then.
I would suggest going to your ROM's thread and posting there, with a logcat.
Good luck!
I have narrowed it down a bit. When my mobile data is on, and phone is using gps then I get the soft reboot. Anyone?

GPS causing reboot
I used to have the same issue on my device.
Everything came back to normal after modifying my APN settings...
I'm not 100% sure which particular setting made the difference, but it seems that the flash process have modified the original settings, so I just entered the pre-flash settings that I had written down before my fist rom flashing attempt.
