Hello Everyone!
I have been able to get my Xfinity TV Go app working on the FTV.
1. Download the Xfinity.apk [Mediafire]
2. Buy or Download the "Mouse Toggle for Fire TV" [Google Play - $2.99]
3. Install Mouse Toggle on an android device (tablet or phone) and make sure you are on the same network as the FTV stick.
4. Follow instructions on the Mouse Toggle app (EXTREMELY SIMPLE)
5. Install the Xfinity.apk to the FTV via ADB
6. Open the Xfinity app on the FTV
7. If the Mouse Toggle installed and is running QUICKLY double tap <PLAY/PAUSE> and you will see a cursor on the screen. Move it with the D-Pad and select Username/Email
8. Login with your Comcast Account
9. Profit?
I have done this and it 100% works! It is still a bit of a pain to have to switch to D-Pad mode to scroll and the Mouse Mode to select but all in all it works!
Thanks and any comments/feedback is greatly appreciated!

Yes you could but not everyone has a Bluetooth mouse. And for a cheaper one is 5 to 10 usd while the app is $2.99. Also it is easier to just use the supplied remote instead of multiple devices.
But to each their one.
@AndroidDeveloper4Life
Great guide write-up. Been using the Mouse Toggle since last year. Once you get use to it. It will become second nature to switch back and forth.
Are any of your FTV's rooted ? If so, is XFinity blocking playback on rooted devices ? Are you live streaming from XFinity on a FTV Stick ? Is it smooth? Asking because the ATT Uverse app has been pain if your rooted or overall too.
Thanks.
I do not have a rooted fire tv stick but will get one of the 3 in the house done soon. But it is great quality live streaming (about 1 min behind normal cable). Looks great almost HD quality. We have the 2nd step plan on the Cable (sorry it doesn't give a name online), and we also have the sports addon and everything works great. Of course it will take a min for it to reach HD quality upon loading a channel. But have access to 70+ channels and probably like 90+ if we had HBO, Showtime and all that. But it works great! A he|| alot better than Kodi live tv!
I have a rooted Fire TV 2 and the Xfinity apps work fine for me. Been using these apps for months now,

Great, will get an account from a friend to try it out. Haven't tried XFinity for close to two years. Glad they got their act together.
Also my bad experience might also be due to FireOS 3 vs FireOS 5. Since all my rooted FTV's are 1st Gen & are still on FireOS 3 waiting for an update.
Tried Uverse on a stock FTV Stick but there where still problems with both Amazon & PlayStore versions of the app.
What version of the XFinity app are your two using?
The Xfinity apps are great but it would be nice if they had D-Pad/button support. Like stated earlier, get that mouse ready!

Have been using & am used to the Mouse Toggle for Fire TV app since Nov. of last year. So no worries if a mouse is needed. Used to have some Logitech M325's hooked up to my 1st Gens. Don't anymore. I really like the scrolling options of the Mouse Toggle for Fire TV.

So does this really work on a nonrooted firetv stick running any software os3 or latest os5? Does it continue to work today( a couple months later)?
I'm trying to find out if I need a rooted ftv to play xfinity tv go app or is any nonrooted ftv1,2,or stick fine?
I tried it with a new cheap Android box but kept getting error 3322 on all the channels.

Anyone know a way install the other xfinity tv app?
The one that accesses the X1 DVR?
Today I tried installed the latest Xfinity app since the old one has been discontinued. When I try to launch it a black screen shows for a few seconds and goes back to the app list. Has anyone had any luck getting the latest version installed and working?

The tv go app still works, it just gives you an error on the home screen. You can still go to Live and search for content to watch. As far as the xfinity tv app goes you'll need to find an older version like 3.2.0.016 which works.

I know it still works, but is there ever going to be a time that it doesn't? It appears Comcast made the new app not function on a firestick or something. A little disturbing for the future...
So when I go to live tv now in the app all the channels have been removed and it says to get the new xfinity tv app and they have stopped supporting xfinity tv go.
I installed the latest xfinity tv app but it just ends up crashing every time. Any help?
Just install Kodi and then install the Exodus add-on.
You'll be able to watch every tv show and movie (that I've searched for) for free.
Also in better quality than Comcast. I have the X1 box and it looks like 720p resolution.
The difference is clear when you stream Amazon or Netflix at 1080p.
This doesn't answer the question at hand and yes it is another solution. What we are asking here is has anyone been able to get the current xfinity tv app to work on the firestick?
I actually got the new xfinity app to work on my fire tv, BUT i can't log in because it says you need internet explorer to log in. I used version 3.2.0.016 and i also tried the two versions after this version and they worked, BUT will not let you sign in your account. Is there any way i can download the app log in on my computer and then side load the app to the fire tv. I'm sure someone will figure this out. the tv go said they are not going to have it anymore, you can still watch some on demand movies on it, but no live TV.

It's because that app requires KitKat, the Fire TV/Stick is only Jelly Bean.
I thought that might be the case, thanks for clearing that up for me.
Just a quick update, i have found that the apk has been updated and it allowed me to install it on my Fire TV [ http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...play-t2929147] however even when a PS4 controller is paired to the Fire TV, it will not work within the app. I used workaround 2 and it worked like a charm. I hope this helps someone.
So how are people getting past the verification/login screen when they load up the Remote Play app? I've got Firefox instaledl on my TV Stick but when the login forum pops up from the Remote Play app I can't control/type anything in with my remote.

Anyone know a way to use the ds4, unrooted, mapped correctly if possible, without workaround 2, because that workaround doesn't work if not local.
this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/mod-ps4-remote-play-native-gamepad-t2975609) someone has been working on an app that supports all native controllers, i testing using an xbox 360 controller and it worked great.

I tested this out and I was able to use the sixaxis controller app and paired my ds4. Everything worked except the touchpad and the PS Home button (PS Home Button is currently configured to take your Android device to its home).
Ive got this working using the 0.73 apk from script kitty.
Working well using the second acccount hwck ( saves me having re sync controller all the time. Plus fire tv is in range of mynps4 foe the bluetooth).
Question is, im missing the little tab on the rempte play app that lets you adjust the settings, so i cant set the video quality to high
Anyideas?
Ihave the apks for 0.6 and 0?70 so i can always try those.

Mine activated without issue. Was having a few issues playing videos though....Think I'm 1 pre-rooted firmware behind. I'll update when I get a chance and test then.
If you have Comcast or charter cable then it won't work as they block amazon from being able to use HBOgo

Some folks have. And it's menu navigation is laggy but the actual video playback is not bad (That is what has been reported here & @ AFTVNews.com). You will need to go into the Amazon website & purchase the free HBO Go app to get it added to the Amazon Account that you are using on your FireTV Stick. Then you can sideloaded. If not it will tell you, you don't own the app. Easy bypass...

Sorry to hear, still working fine for me.
I tried uninstall/reinstall...clearing cache...updating...no dice.
Spoke to soon. Stopped working for me on my Fire TV Stick. I now get a "video error: we're having trouble playing this video right now".
Anyone still have it working?
What's strange is that my Fire TV firmware is the same version as when it was working and the app hasn't update, so is this some sort of a server side block?
Is there a newer version than what's in the OP somewhere? I've been using the version in the OP here

I just need to add : F'n Comcast!
I can access my HBO Go on PC, Mac, Android phone and tablet. Roku and Apple TV.
Why the hell do you make it impossible to register with Fire TV? What the heck is wrong with you, Comcast? And why does this society allow it? <facepalm>
Welp, HBO Go works great run through XBMC, but won't move past the white screen from the Amazon launcher. Not quite sure why...but it works!
I side loaded the amazon HBO GO Fire TV apk and it works fine on the stick. It eve showed up in recent apps after a few mintues. It run s little slow but I read it also does on the FireTV.
Get APK Here
http://www.speedyshare.com/pP3ve/HBO-GO-2.7.06.apk
Every single time I get activation error the app will restart something like that.
Works fine on FireTV
That's odd had no issues activating.
Didn't try apk from link above but did transfer it directly from Fire TV - Fire TV stick. App works fine but navigation through menus are definitely laggy on Fire TV Stick compared to regular Fire TV.

How do you install this? I sideloaded via ADBFire but when I launch it, it says that I don't own it and takes me to the screen to install it. Attempting to install it says that my device is not compatible with it. I am not rooted. and am running the 6220 firmware.

Apparently Comcast is the same. I guess after successfully holding Netflix hostage they want to do it with everything. It plays on my Kindle fire, but when I hook up the hdmi, all I get is the HBO GO menu, and then the hbo logo intro, ratings, etc., and then a black screen with a zero minutes time bar across the bottom, till it times out and goes back to the menu. I tried it with the iTV fire apps and the Amazon video app and got them to work by basically looking at the dependent amazon apps and installing them as well. If I had a fire still I'd give it a go but alas I don't.
Ok, so I was able to extract the Fire TV .apk file and sideload onto my Nvidia Shield TV. I was able to open it and navigate using the standard Shield remote. The only issue I am having is playing live TV content. Sometimes it loaded fine and other times it gives me an error and telling me to Refresh the content. Seems to be very buggy for Android TV. Well I installed the Amazon app store too on my Sony TV since the Vue app was asking for it and I still kept getting that device compatibility error. Of course there's now an Android TV app did the Vue though.
*I wanted to add that maybe my devices aren't rooted so I don't have any means to turn device compatibility check off like I do with my 6P.

I installed it and got error 40 which I got on my tablet because it's rooted. I assumed it was due to root so I disabled super su and tried again. This time ESPN started right up but video was choppy. I try other channels and get error 40 again. Are you rooted? If so can someone without root try? I don't want to unroot to try it but will I have to. I hate having to switch inputs to my fire tv box to watch live tv.
I got it installed on my unroofed shield tv. Similar behavior with the errors on some channels. I'm having better luck using the streams from the what's on now section

From what I have seen that error 40 if it followed by something like 1005 means it has detected root.
I was able to load a version of the amazon fire app onto my shield last night. The remote works, same interface as my fire stick down stairs.
I got TBS to stream, but then had no other luck and gave up. The error I got was telling me to refresh, I don't remember the code it was almost 2am.
My phone Pixel XL that is rooted is giving the error 40 and I did look into that some, seems to be because of root. I don't THINK I rooted my Shield TV. Pretty sure I never did. Never had a reason to want to.
Some of these errors were due to what I believe to be service overload. They are admitting to an "overwhelming demand" It was not loading channels consistently on my PC at work yesterday 5PM EST yesterday and was also messing up when I got home to try it on the Fire Stick. This got a lot better by 11PM EST last night and I am told that it is working great today from the Amazon Fire Stick, I have not been home to try it yet.
With all of that said it has been hard to tell which errors were because we are trying to sideload the app and which are service errors in general that have nothing to do with the device we are trying to use...
Side note is there a thread just about the DirecTV Now app? Would love to figure out how to bypass this root detection so I can use it from my phone.

Haven't tried it yet but feedback says it's working on all channels with no buffering.

I have this loaded to my google drive to try on my shield tonight.
The Amazon App does not seem to have the VOD content that the phone app does. Im hoping this is the phone app, but that also sounds like you need a mouse to make it work well. (remote issues)
Purchased one of the Adesso mouse/keyboard/remote thingys to try with the app and the shield.

Looks like the thread in the link above was created the day after this one, just thought I'd mention it incase anyone has missed it.
No conclusive answers yet. Seems there is the Google + post about the app that is tweaked gonna try it soon.
Heya - I'm thinking about the Shield refresh. Currently use a K1 tablet as my pseudo-TV experience. I need DirecTV Now to work. So I guess things aren't looking optimistic yet and I should stick with the K1 for now? Is Android TV and the remote worth it?

Unfortunately I don't have the file. I downloaded it on my old phone and I didn't save a backup. I also wiped my Shield TV so I don't have it on there either. You aren't missing much because it was just the mobile app and it didn't work very well. I don't know what the hold up is with Directv Now and Android TV but if they don't get an app before my 3 months of prepaid service is up I'm cancelling and going back to PS Vue or Sling TV. I was having so many issues with it on my Apple TV that I just started using a free 2 month trial to Sling TV.
Free APK to send chrome cast content (screen cast and tab cast) to your fire tv. It supports any fire tv.
Instructions:
side load the APK to your Fire TV
Version 1.2
This is not my work but it is verified to work and it does not contain any ads or any limitations
Hello!
Thank you very much for this app. I sideloaded on my FTVS and it works great with Spotify. Unfortunately I can't detect it with any other app like Chrome / Youtube... Is this app able to cast only sound?
I was able to test it with chrome tab cast and screen mirroring from Windows computer
Install Google Home on your tablet, phone, whatever and go to cast screen.
This works great. Just gonna keep stuff like roms\emulators on my tablet primarily now.
Thank you!
Hi, thanks for apk. Unfortunately it doesn't work for me. I have installed your apk and googleHome Cast app. Moreover i installed the google play service for android tv. On my phone and my PC i can see the new "tv-stick-chromecast-device", but i don't can see anything if i try to send something from Phone or PC to the Stick. After opening the Chromecast app i tried to go to cast screen, but there is no device found. What i'm doing wrong, please help me. Thank you.
greetings
Sideloaded also and works perfect!!
Works perfect for me on fire stick 2nd gen nice one is it a full one or a trial ?
VERY cool!
It took me several times to get it to cast but it is works.
I hope this app sticks around longer than the last Google cast app for AFTV.
Does this app require Play Store/Services on the Fire TV device?

no you can install it right away
Hi josuelopezv:
What's so shameful. Developers give you a convenient to install android box without Google Play Service since you said you already buy it from Google PlayStore. But you leak it as piracy and don't think how many times developers spend to implement the Cast Protocol in house.

I thought this is forbidden/illegal? Shouldnt this thread or at least the APK have been deleted?
I do not have a problem to buy any app that has the right functionality.
Im just not used to see pirated content on here(?)
There is nothing illegal about this.

This doesn't seem to allow cast of youtube. It works fine for everything else though. Was hoping to use this for a workaround for the upcoming youtube app removal.

Same here. Casting from YouTube via Chrome on my laptop doesn't work but casting the whole screen does (never found a use for that though since the quality and latency make it pretty useless)
Yeah since I found a work around for the coming youtube/fire armageddon I'm not concerned. How are you casting the whole screen btw?
Dave
I use Google Home to steam everything and haven't had a hiccup. Even games work fine.
Thanks! I'll give this a shot. How is the apk in this thread different than the one in the play store?
Thanks for posting this. Is there any way to support the developer as this appears to be a premium version?

Why don't you find out for yourself? Kinda seems like a complete waste of time to register just to say this.
This appears to run as a chromecast receiver & NOT as a chromecast Audio receiver. I'm not sure why Google differentiates them but it would be nice to have a toggle in this app.
