Hi guys, I didn't see a thread about battery life, so I thought I'd start one to see how other people's battery life was.
I have an unrooted nexus 7 and after using it a few weeks I finally decided to see how long the battery would last before dying. I wasn't very impressed.
My battery lasted 3 days and 12 hours with 5 hours of screen on time. I didn't use it heavily or anything. Light browsing, a little bit of reading, almost no videos, no music, screen brightness at "low" setting and I even have the wifi turned off when the device is asleep! That seems pretty underwhelming to me. I am syncing 3 gmail accounts though, so maybe that is it. I'm just suprised by the 5 hours of screen time. I thought this thing was supposed to do 9 or 10 hours (that's what some of the reviews like Engadget said). No?
What is your battery life like? Is this normal?
So you got over 3 days of battery life? That seems pretty good... im a little confused when you say 9 to10 hours at the end of your post though.
.:: Nexus 7 :: ParanoidAndroid :: JB ::.
I am able to only get 6 hours off my Nexus 7. I play 1 hour of games and the rest is browsing. Sometimes I watch videos, but even without, I can't seem to get more than 6 hours on low brightness.
To people are are getting 8-10 hours, did you let your battery drop to nearly dead? I have never let mine drop below 25% except for one time. Some people reported their N7 died at 20% so I let mine reach that percentage.

Lol, obviously not looking hard enough
Plenty of threads about battery life, gotta love that search box!

Lol 3.5 days with 5 hours of battery life is pretty good. The 8-9 hour estimate doesn't account for 3.5 days worth of idle drain. You can get 10 hours if you use it for 10 straight.

+1, I too was disappointed to see that I was getting "only" 5-6 hours screen time with my 2-3 days usage.
So I dug a little deeper and found that all the 9-10 hour battery life reports was the device being used constantly over around a day.
I guess the idle time and sleep walking the device does kind of effects the battery life. Same with my phone, the beast Incredible S, in 1 day I can get 4-4.5 hours screen time, but if I stretch it over 2 days it only gives me 3 1/2
So I agree about the idle thing
Luminosité at 10%...
it's a 7" anyway(smaller battery to fit in)... can't ask for more.
How are you guys experiencing the battery life? I had 100% at 12 PM now it's 3:23 PM and it's on 64%. I haven't even used the phone that much, 1 hour screen time only. I don't feel like this reflects the size of the battery (3000mah)
I have it on lowest brightness, I always kill the apps right after use and it just keeps draining fast.

Hard to say. Personally, I'm struggling and I can't get over 3 hours SOT. I own other phones and I do that routinely. Other people are getting ridiculous SOT, so I guess its all subjective. This thread should help answer your question.

I switched to the G4 from the Xperia Z1, I loved the battery life of the Z1. Now 3 hours of SOT is really a struggle, I don't think that's good at all..

This is my first day off use after a full charge, I'm pretty happy so far.
I've been unplugged for 7 hours and I'm at 46%.
2.5 hours of screen time
With the screen off:
1.25 hours of phone calls over Bluetooth
1 hour of listing to music over Bluetooth
Connected to my Moto360 the entire time

I got 3 hours and 46 minutes of SOT from 100 to 0, I had 0% brightness most of the time and only had wifi and 4g on, nothing else. This kind of upsets me, those are not good stats at all...
The battery needs a good few days and a few cycles of discharge and charge for it to become most effective. Wait a week before making any conclusive decisions on battery usage.
Bear in mind this is a large hi-res display, so watch your brightness if you want to save battery.
For me battery life has been great. I easily get a full day out of it with around 3 hours SOT and medium usage.

Wow. I'm pretty jealous of you. When i got my LG G4, on my second day, it only lasted for about 8 hours!!! Even though i had Bluetooth off, data off, 3/4G off, location off, battery saver on and brightness on auto. I am so disappointed with my phone as i am having to charge it in the day and sometimes through the night and i've only had it for a month.
Screen on
Can LG G4 screen on over 4h?
I am having great battery life
Good battery life
Getting through a working day easily. It could even last longer if I was more careful about closing the apps and all those usual battery saving tips. I just leave most of the stuff on... Bluetooth, WiFi, Location... Screen brightness is set on auto and it's plenty bright for my use even outdoors. :good:

Did you even look at screen shots posted in this thread? And SOT varies greatly depending on usage. One person may get 4.5 hours, while another only gets 2.5.

Hey guys,
how's your battery life going? I'm rather pleased with it so far. This is my first day with the phone on stock with no mods or special battery apps.
Can you guys recommend a battery app to restrict background leeching?
Cheers

Screen-on time? I got on my first charge 30hrs. off the charger and 5,5 hrs. SOT with 7% left.
From 92% to 10%, with hardcore installing, making nearly 100 photos and some videos, and gaming, running tests, im get more than 4 hour SoT.
Stock OS, no mods.

60% left, 3.2h sot, only wifi (no sim card), location on
First full cycle. Im pretty pleased with the battery. Stock rom and kernel. Magisk as root and no battery saving apps. Didnt even use battery saver once it hit 15%.
7hr sot with moderate usage. A little bit on clash of clans. quite a bit of web browsing on chrome. Used facebook, messenger, tandem and other apps quite a bit. Also used wifi 90% of the time and LTE the other

Naw, normal day, mix (wifi and 4g).
It's about the same like 3T but I will sell it.
Very impressed with battery backup.
First charge (full) since I received the device, everything stock.
Medium to high usage over 36-38 hours, setting up, installing apps, gaming a little, videos, browsing. Mostly on WiFi, maybe a couple of hours on 4G:
15% battery remaining
After today's oxygen update my battery has gotten significantly better. It may also be a case of the battery settling in after a few days. I went from losing 30% in 2 hours idle in my pocket yesterday to losing 30% in 9 hours using it throughout work today. Color me impressed. And this is coming from the Moto Z play. A battery beast!!!

But for honor 10 the sot for webbrowsing also states 12h but seems more liie 6-7 indeed. (maybe its cause my battery is not calibrated yet, im still on first charge) , i hope it gets 10h on wifi.
According to gsmarena that should be possible

Have never got over 6 hours SOT
my app (accubattery) seems to display 8 hours of SOT while browsing on wifi atm.
and not sure if its because i have turned on battery saving but past 2 days i get 9-10 hours browsing on wifi.
that seems right for a 3400 battery for it specs.

Got about 7 + hours of SOT ..
What is approximately the SOT when using i) mobile data and ii) two SIM cards?
Sent from my Huawei Mate S using Tapatalk
I'm getting a bit more, but mostly over WiFi, ralely on data (4G), sometimes I charge the phone at night before going to sleep (10:30pm), go to sleep with my phone near to me and check it several times during the night, and it reaches 4pm with 30% of battery, so I feel like in normal situation more than 14 hours of charge and around 8 hours of use.
installed a new app for battery measurement called 3c battery widget.
according to this thing i probably get around 8 hours of sot as well. (wifi browsing brightness set not too high)
I can get max 3-4 hours SOT. 4G active all the time except when I sleep ~8 hours. GPS allowed. No wifi, not playing games at all. Using Facebook, messenger, 9gag and sometimes navigation.
Record is 2.3 hours SOT at 54% battery so with same usage I could get about 5 hours. Usually 1 SOT hour = 25% battery for me.

I had a Oneplus 3 since october 2016 and I did not realised how bad the battery was. During the last 2 years I had 2h30 of sot MAX, mosty 2h.
With the Oneplus Nord, after the first charge I got 4h30 of sot (36 hours of usage) and still 21% battery left.
I don't game, mostly web browsing.

This has me a bit worried. I have had a Huawei mate 20 and a Xiaomi mij 9t pro that got me 6 to 7 hours easily... And those had 4000 mAh.
This proves everything is relative. It is more than enough for me.
Don't forget It was only the first cycle so I cannot conclude anything yet.
Not to bad after 4 day's actually. 5.5 hours SOT and 33% left. Most of the time spend on WiFi though.
9h
Just web browsing. Little youtube , 30 minutes or so. Wifi. Brightness auto.

Now a get max 8 hours .

I am barely getting 4-5 hours of SoT. Is there something that I need to do to boost up my battery life?
When I first got the phone battery life was just ok 4 hrs sot. After 5 days its improved by quite a bit including the latest September update.
Am on 90hz all the time. Blocked all Facebook. So far its ok. Would have been great if it had a slightly bigger battery.
I will get an 6 or 7 hrs screen on time on 90hz,
In this picture iam using continues hotspot thats why its low
