how to root rkpx3 (same as rk3188 and brothers ?) - Android Head-Units

Hello,
I bought this unit
http://fr.aliexpress.com/item/6-2-A...eo-Player/32600746091.html?detailNewVersion=2
By the spec: a9 cortex 1.6 quad core I was thinking of getting a rk3xxx but that's not the case I got a rxkp3 :/
So is rxkp3 same as rk3xxx ?
If not is there custom rom or at least a way to root it?
I also can't get access to recovery menu. (I tried a lot of thing)
Thanks

I have the same unit the only way i could get to the recovery was to root it and use an app that reset to recovery and when i did that all it showed was an android on its back and it said no command and when you reset everything is back to factory. The only thing i can get to flash is the update files i got from joying and when i put them on a sd card and reset the device with it in it flashes uboot then proceeds with flashing the mcu, boot.img, kernal.img, etc.
If anyone could help i can donate to their time i would really like to install the malaysk rom but everything ive tried has failed.

[Q] Imei recovery for dummies

Good afternoon everyone,
I have just bought a N4 with 4.2.2 installed on it. Right after turning it on for the first time it asked if I would like to install the new 4.3 version. Of course I said yes, and then ended up stucked in the X logo screen indefenitely. After this annoying situation I've been told that it could take up to 90 days to replace it on the store, so I used fastboot to return it to the stock 4.2.2 version, following the tutorial presented on this forum, the SO booted smoothly but after it my IMEI info is completely gone.
My concern lays primary on the warranty, and secondly, is there a noob tutorial on how to recover my original IMEI number with 4.2 ROM?
Thanks for your time and congratulations for the amazing forum.
After trying every single tutorial presented on this forum I gave up. Returned it back to the 4.2.2, unrooted, blocked the bootloader, upgraded to the 4.3 to generate the original error and called tech support. I will return the thing and get a new one.
I'm most certainly sure the problem lays on the baseband, something with the first 4.3 upgrade damaged files and the system isn't able to rebuild itself, and I couldn't find a way to do it manually.
Unfortunately I will avoid upgrading it to the 4.3 untill google says something about this bizarre bug that is making several people go nuts with android.
Have you tried reflashing the radio through fastboot? Maybe that will fix it.
Or maybe flash an older radio (eg. .27 or .33) and see if you get your baseband/IMEI back.

Both 27 and 33, not to mention 48 84, and every stock ROM I could find.
I have come to a conclusion that the problem do not lays on the radio I chose, because when I fastboot it shows me exactly which radio is installed. The problem seems to be that when I boot to android it fails loading the radio.

Yeah, as it was a brand new mobile and I didn't have to worry about lost files, that was the very first thing I did.
Thanks for your persistence.

Who wants root/custom recovery/custom roms for the core prime?

So far ive gained root, and made the first custom rom for the galaxy core prime, ill be compiling a custom recovery for this device when i get my linux PC buil environment set up again.
for ANYONE who wants to root use kingroot(not kingoroot)
exactly like superSU but seeing as CF autoroot/framaroot/towleroot dont support this device it will have to do until i release a root method for this device with superSU.
So here goes
ROOT - kingroot(not kingoroot)
RECOVERY - coming soon
CUSTOM ROM - revolutionary core prime(coming soon)
Thank you!!!
Have a core prime and always wanted to check out the Custom ROMs that came out. It's a SD410 so it shouldn't be as hard as if it were an Exynos (I know it is not easy anyways, but at least the Snapdragon makes it a bit easier).
Will read this thread and see what you make!
Thanks and good luck
Me
I would be glad to use custom recovery too ! Thanks

hi for what model of core prime?
I would like a custom rom for the Prime Core also
I have been searching for a recovery and rom. I rooted a while ago with kingroot and now I have trouble with recognizing the charger input. (Same charging issue with nextbook nx7 on diff charger). rebooting usually remedies this. I fear kingroot corrupted my kernel. I would love to replace it with a prerooted kernel.
Btw I'm using the s820c variant galaxy core prime from straight talk. It has the Snapdragon 410 as well.
Sm-g361h??
Does it work for the sm-g361h model??

theres no pre-rooted kernel, i can release an insecure ADBD one if you like that will have to be applied by dd method but that defeats the purpose

yes the root works for all, once i get a working recovery ill make a few recovveries for other variants if i even need to then we will have the wiespread oftions of roms, only thing i lack ATM is a working 64bit linux PC
Thanks for the quick reply Ricky. still looking forward to your finished recovery as well as the rom. Is it cm based, aosp based? This is big news! there is very little support for this phone. good luck in your work.
appreciate your brave work son, for what variation of the phone you gonna make it?

im not a big fan of CM based roms, id rather build a rom from software built for that device and only for it then build from a source that is universal with reduced capabillities
Let me know if I can help. I got root with odin 3.10 but as we are all aware, there aren't many (if any) recoveries and custom roms.

Twrp works to boot into recovery, though I have no idea whether or not flashing a custom rom will brick it. If you want to send me the one you made I can try mounting and see what happens.

hey mate woul you be able to link me to the recovery you are using? and what device is it built for? the way we can check this is make a full backup in recovery then extract the backup andd see if it has backed up the right partitions, if it has we need to check if its the right format, im sure i read a while ago TWRP backs up with tar and just mounts all partitions and wipes the needed partitions recursively, if that is true we wont have to worry about the format but we will do our research an get this successfully up an running
I didnt actually get twrp installed just the app though I'm js u can still boot into recovery with it. Sorry for the mis lead. I am working on the kernel that shiny side posted up. I'll let u know when I get w it

How to install Viper4Arise or Viper4Android on Eonon GA2163?

Hi everybody. I want to install one of these two app on my Eonon Android head unit. Correct me if i'm wrong, but i need to root the head unit no? I can't find any solution to root it... I tried kingoroot without success. It stuck à 90%. Can someone help me to root my GA2163 please? Or at least install one of the two Viper4. Thank you very much.
Nobody can help? Please.
I got the same unit rooted with KingRoot, the latest version. It took 3 tries to find the solution, but it did solve it.
Eonon GA2163 Root possibility - at your own risk

I see a lot of responses for Kingroot.apk (note: not Kingoroot) to root the Eonon GA2163. However, I also had no luck with this app. I installed a ROM V8.2.3_20170902.134531_KED1-mod that is already rooted. This ROM installs from the Car Settings option and needs no fancy work to install. Somewhere my MCU also changed (I'm not sure this ROM did it though). Root worked well. Lost my analog radio and my Aux.apk though...not a big deal for me. Search the web for the file. Also, I had to load CarLauncher as the original home screen was removed...also not a big deal. CarLauncher is much better.
Disclaimer: try at you own risk

Do not change the MCU as this will screw up the radio and the aux in.
Standard disclaimer applies - try at your own risk - it worked for me.
Any updates with this with being able to install Viper4Android?
@tboneplyr I finally installed the rom you told me to try. After installation i checked if i was root and one app tell me that i'm rooted and another one tell me that i'm not rooted... I can't install supersu neither twrp. I need twrp to install viper4android (or viper4arise). I don't know what to do from now. Have you an idea for me? Thank you.

The newest version of Android for this tablet is Android 5.1 but it runs fairly slow and isn't really worth it I personally prefer KitKat because it still supports most apps and runs pretty smooth. To install a room you need to root then unlock your bootloader.

Hi, I recently bought an Acer A500 without realising that the software updates were no longer supported by Acer. The current build is Acer_A500_1.105.01_EMEA_GEN3 and it is on Android 3.01. I am wanting to upgrade to a newer version as this software seems to be outdated and doesn't seem to run properly. Is it possible to install a Full ROM directly over this to get to Android 4.0 or do I have to update incrementally? I have no experience in dealing with this so would appreciate any help I can get. So far any links I've found to the full ROM's are inactive. I've downloaded the following OS from the Acer website but not sure whether I can simply run these to upgrade: Acer_7.014.02.041.203.01.WW.GEN1_A32H_A and Acer_AV041.A500.RV21RC03.WW.GEN1_A40I_A.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If they are zip files take the Acer_AV041.A500 one and rename it update.zip put it on an SD card and turn on your tablet holding the volume up button + power(may be volume down) and it should update to ics(4.0). If you want to update past that( to so thing like KitKat(4.4) you need to root your tablet and unlock your bootloader there is a couple tutorials on this website on how to do that. If you want links to everything just ask me.

Thanks for the quick response. There is an update.zip file in that zip folder so will use that one. Does is matter that it's not EMEA_GEN3? Is there any benefit to updating from 4.0 to KitKat 4.4?

I would try to flash that any way, it probably won't work but it's worth a shot. The only benefit to getting kitkat would be more supported apps from the app store but a lot of apps don't work anyway because this tablet does not have neon support.

Yes but, it is a fairly complicated process(compared to most other devices). I would see if you can find any firmware downloads for this device and try those before you try installing a custom rom.

Need stock rom for Onn 10.1 surf 100005209

I hate to be the guy who whines about his bricked device, but I would really apreciate some help. Looking for the stock rom for the Onn surf 100005029. Any help appreciated.
Same here, just picked this up from wish as a refurb, 100005209.

i was looking on here for anyway of upgrading it to 10 or 11? or even then cant find a recent firmware to download

You could theoretically use mtk-su to create a temporary root environment and then dump the rom, but I've never used it so I can't be of help there.

All of the files they have on this thread are for the older models. Before they called the tablet an Onn Surf. I bricked mine by flashing the older boot.img so beware of that. And I don't know if updating android is even possible.

It's a huge shame there isn't custom roms for this device, even in May 2021 it is still quite usable for consumption and light gaming, and I can only imagine how awesome it would be if there were custom ROMs that didn't have the bloatware included.
me to I tried but failed.
Nothing here about the Stock Rom for the ONN 100005209?
