It started just recently, i use chomp sms as my messaging app. But since few weeks, sent messages do not get delivered. It keeps on pending if i change my default messaging app to chomp (or any other 3rd party messaging app). And if i change back the default messaging app to stock app, the pending messages get delivered.
I don't want to use stock messaging app..
FYI: I just unlocked bootloader, rooted my phone and installed TWRP 3.0.0 (kirin varaint), is it because of this..

Is it just me or is the stock messaging app a little laggy? I installed Chomp SMS and no lag.
Added a number to my phone today but all texts I sent to her instantly failed. She could send to me and I would receive it but I couldn't send to her.
Was using Textra when this started. Tried to use the messaging app to see if it would work but it would let me send any messages with Textra set as the default messaging app.
I changed the default to Messaging and was able to text her. Went into Textra and it also wouldn't work unless I set it to be the default.
1. Can you not use other texting apps while defaulted to something else?
2. Any idea why I couldn't send to her? (don't know what phone she is on)
OK, So I've changed the default SMS app from Messaging to Hangouts, for the main reason that I have a smartwatch and Hangouts allows you to read conversations on the watch. Problem is now that the default Messaging app keeps giving me Notification Badges. I've tried disabling it in Applications, but it doesn't show up in the "All" list.
Any ideas?

disable notifications via settings (or phone manager) >notification center>messaging.
The sms app is not a separate app. Its a combined app along with dialer and contacts called "huawei contacts".
I use a third party messaging app called "textra" but when I text another android user on AT&T his messages only show up in the stock messaging app. How do I fix it?

I love Textra for messaging! Have you tried re-syncing the messages again in Textra? In Textra go to Settings, About, and click on Resync Textra.
I usually do that after I restore my messages using Titanium. Some will show up and others wont. The Resync option fixes the messages right up for me.
Anyone having issues with Messaging App after update to JoyUI 11? My messaging app cannot display the messages stored on my phone. I downloaded a third party message app (Textra) so I can read and send text messages. The notification for SMS is also not working anymore (no alert and sound for incoming messages).

Have you tried allowing all the app's permissions?
I can't text message at all
Try to disable "chat" or so called RCS messages in app settings.
