I’ve noticed this twice today, first when I woke up with 100% battery state, then after about 20 minutes it dropped to 15% and alerted me. It has done this later on when I charged it via USB A>C from about 30% to 15% again.
Sounds like a duff battery, anybody else had this issue?
I had this issue on my 2nd 6P, just return it, buddy.
I'm going to see if it does it again, I rebooted if and no issues since.

Hey guys.
I have had a Nexus 7 since the end of July and I love it! However, recently I have been experiencing a weird problem with my battery. Normally, after a full charge I can get about 6 full days in just standby or about 5 if I use it for a considerable amount of time. What has happened recently is that my Nexus has dropped the battery percentage by a lot at completely random times. Like for instance, Friday night it was at about 15% when I left it. Now normally it'll only drain a few percentage points while in standby. I came home about 4 hours later to find it completely dead. That has never happened before. It gets weirder. Last night I went to bed with it at about 85% remaining. I woke up about 6 hours later and was surprised to see that it drained to 55% in just standby! Then after it drains a large amount, it goes back to normal standby behavior. (It is at 53% as I write this)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Have you checked which apps are running in the background? Did you install any new apps around the time your issues began?

Sorry for the late reply. I have not installed anything new. I will see if it happens again. So far, it has not.
Thanks!
A quick update on a weird bug I encountered in the N4 yesterday. I was outside and got home with my battery at around 50%. I plugged the phone in and look away for a couple of minutes and when I looked back at the phone and the battery was at 100%(!).
I knew this couldn't be right so I checked the battery graph and it showed a steep jump from 50 to 100 in a matter of minutes. I did a phone restart and the battery was back to the correct level and went back to charging normally. Unfortunately I forgot to screenshot the battery graph and after the reset the graph was reset as well.
Could this bug be one of the reasons why certain users are reporting very bad battery lives on the N4? I can imagine that if I had not been paying attention with the charging and just took the phone out to use later, the battery would have seemed to drop very quickly. How commonly could it happen even; has anyone else seen it?
This happened to me last night. I plugged it in to charge and it said the battery was at 100

This happened to me only once. I jumped from 1% to 100% in a minute I was like no way this thing charges that fast lol

Does seem like it is a common problem then. Better keep an eye out on the battery when charging it.

Add me to the list, a reboot after I observed the nano second charge to full capacity didn't even make it display properly. I didn't try a hard reboot however.
Not selling my GN just yet.
I bought a nexus 4 quite recently and the battery was actually quite fine. But recently, it started dying at random levels like around 30-40%. Today i charged it full to 100 and then rebooted to recovery which showed a 31% level. On restarting the system too showed 31%. I charged it again and repeated the process but it keeps returning to 31. Whats going on here? Attached is the battery graph showing severe loss of charge at every restart.

Brand new or used? The battery has a short lifespan, so if it has been used by someone for more than a year theres a big chance it's time to change it.
I've bought my N4 brand new in February 2014 and the battery is definitely much weaker. With light usage i get from 7am till bed time with less than 35%. I lose a lot of it on standby.
Well it was supposed to be new. It booted up with stock Jellybean. I've been using it for a couple of months only.
Hi guys
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed high battery drain on LMY48M?
Since the update my battery doesn't seem to be lasting the day if I have mobile data on and I use it occasionally. Basically unplug at 7:30am and by 3pm I need to start charging it. There's no obvious process draining it.
I did replace the battery 5 weeks ago and was working fine. Well into 20+ hours with use. Then not long after the update I noticed this issue.
Any thoughts on what could do?
Edit: Should have used the search (noob mistake I know) it's obviously an issue most are seeing on this build.
Are there any recommendations on Kernels to switch to, seraphore (sic) I've seen mentioned.
I'm always wary of updates in case something detrimental happens, but I recently updated to 48M and have seen no adverse effects. Phone on since 6:30 and still at 60%. Definitely no battery drain here.

Strangely enough it's behaving today. Had a SOD last night, cleared my cache and so far 12hrs since 100% and I've got 43% to go, reckons another 8 hours. This is with my usual usage.

Fingers crossed you've sorted it. 14 hours since 100% here and still have 45%. 12 hours to go. And to think I was considering replacing it with a 5X! [emoji50]

Good evening people at xda,
From the past few days i am facing an issue in which my battery drains instantly like if i unplug my phone at 25% within 1 minute its at 17% and within 5 minutes it is zero and phone shutsdown. Then i remove my battery and put it back and the battery is again 18% and then again the same thing happens.
*I had made sure that no app is causing this immense drain
*my phone is not rooted
*Running lollipop
*N910G
Any help would be strongly appreciated!
New battery. Mine was doing the same thing. Got a whole new phone when I replaced the battery.

Didn't bother with the hassle. It was at the end of the warranty period and the batteries are so cheap these days. Got a two pack of Anker for about $40 I believe. Great company for chargers/battery packs/batteries.

Same here over here. I have an N910C and I get sudden battery drains. The battery starts jumping down from X% to Y% in seconds until phone shuts down. So, I connect my charger and suddely thr battery is 15% again. Sometimes I see that battery is 20% and I connect my charger but I doesn't start charging my phone, it is as if I started a battery countdown and instead of charging my battery starts discharging faster than the speed of sound. Other days I have 40% and suddenly 0%; phone shuts down. This is insane. Let me know if battery replacement solves the problem.
Also getting poor battery life and fast drain in seconds. Had 13% of battery yesterday, started Skype call and phone shuted down. Last night I had 27% and turned on the ultra power saving mode. Had 25% in the morning, turned the saving mode off and battery went straight to 7% and phone turned off in half minute. Should get new battery tomorrow, will update then.

Same as what I experienced last week. And I noticed the left side of my screen was lifting.... then I checked the battery and saw it bloated... I threw it away and used my spare....
well i got it done by the company under warranty. got a part named "msb" replaced!
