Hi all,
I want to make a logcat but i run into the following issue:
When my phone is in TWRP or booting ADB says device offline.
Wheb booted into Android it works fine. ADB shiws device and also making a logcat works.

hello i have this issue too and drivers are properly installed. I tried both on windows 7 and linux, it shows device offline. I think the prob may be with twrp recovery.

Yeah really annoying.
I need a logcat of booting CM13 (which is not booting) but i can't make one and thus i can't see whats going wrong.
Maybe its TWRP but it's the only thing there is for the A7........

Yup let's hope so...... but you have TWRP 3.0 right? I have 2.8.7.0 so it's not the version at least.

For which device is adb not working, do you have MTP disabled?

Mine is a Galaxy A7 (A700F).
MTP is disabled in twrp indeed. If I enabke that and do ADB Devices the list is empty.
When MTP is disabled i see the phone id and then offline instead of device in the last column.

Nobody any idea???

But it would be nice to just give a reply... its annoying that some don't even do that.
Asked for help a lot lately for making a device tree....... finally 1 person wanted to help. All the others don't even reply.
Let us keep eachother in the loop ok? In case we find something

yes you're right. no prob let's keep in touch.

You all assume that we don't have real lives. I have just moved house which has taken up all my time lately, I also have a family and a job.
I do this in my spare time of which I don't have much, I'm sure it's the same for others.
Anyway to answer the question the issue is not TWRP, but certain Samsung kernels. For some reason the kernel itself blocks adb.
I am looking for a solution, but this needs help from others who can test things out.
I don't own any of the devices here so I rely on the assistance of others.

We are not assuming anything. I also work with devs and i know what it involves, we were not talking about you particularly. besides taking 10 seconds to answer a question would not prevent anyone from going to work or having time for his family. neither is it an obligation to reply, we were just asking as it is the purpose of this thread.

So is this information correct?

I ve read that those replacement new vibrants with hardware keys disabled wont get in to download mode once you are stuck on that computer and the phone icon screen. There is no way to get out of it am i right?
anyone?....
I replaced my phone because of that and I couldn't get it back to download mode.

I guess you just answered your own question.
Really, though, this question has been answered a hundred times on this very forum. Maybe people are tired of new threads popping up constantly asking other people to take time to do research for people that obviously can't be bothered to do it for themselves. Search first, then ask if you can't find an answer...preferably in a relevant existing thread instead of creating 10 new ones. The other users of this forum aren't here to be your free research monkeys.
...and again, insulting people isn't going to make them want to help you. If you want people to be friendly and considerate you need to give that back...it's a 2-way street. Nobody here is being paid.
*prepares to be flamed by the OP...again*
If you have root then you can use adb to get into download mode by typing "reboot download mode", if you don't have root then you can't use adb.

are you retarded???
you obviously share the same sickness as the OP "cantgoogleshitaphobia"
you can too use adb without root, how do you think people locked out of hardware recovery are even getting rooted in the first place? (and dont say one click root cause if you knew anything then youd also know that program uses adb as well)
the only thing you have to do to get adb to work is turn on usb debugging and have good drivers installed.
to the OP just cause you ask a question dont mean crap, you dont come in demanding a response to a question that has been answered time and time again in this very forum. I usually find posts like these and still help out with a link if its already on my subscribe list but your just an ass for the way youve gone about it, sorry not everyone works within your mighty time frame

If your phone is on the phone != computer screen and you can't enter download mode via the volume keys - you're bricked. You can't fix it unless you can enter download mode, and some versions of the phone you can't enter download or recovery modes via any keypresses. Since you're on the phone != computer screen, you also can't connect to the phone with ADB - so you're boned like a few other people here.
See this other thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=764360
And this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771247
And next time, be patient and don't act like a **** when people don't reply. Not everyone knows your particular situation or can give you a solution on a silver platter.
The irony in this is that the junior member has better forum manners than the senior member. Just thought i would point that out. lol

ok thanks. i was just frustrated and nervous but tmobile is sending me another one. this phone was on vibrant rom and rooted if they find out is there going to be a issue? i am thinking that only way to get back is flashing stock odin again and once they do that it wont be rooted again. so i should be good. what do you think.
Yes should flash the original rom cuz if Tmo find out they are going to make u paid the original price of the phone not the discount or insurance price either. Reason I know cuz I know several people that work with Tmo corporate store not affiliate stores.

Isn't there anyone one here who would be willing to make a rom for the ME301t besides the stock ones? If we were willing to donate money to get it done?

Cromi-x and Geimlock are already compatible with ME301T... :good::good::victory:
Since the ME301T is so close to the TF300 in terms of specs and because of how easy it was to make the ME301 work on CROMI or GRIMLOCK, its possible that there might only be a few minor things that need to change to make a ME301 work on a CM rom. Since there are no devs who own an ME301T we would needs some help from the community to get it to work.
Mainly we would need for someone with an ME301T to install a CM based rom and see if it will boot. From there you would need to get a logcat and send it to us so we can see if we can fix the issues that are preventing it from working.

Sounds like it isn't too far off. What I need is for someone to try and flash a CM rom and send me logs of when it is booting up etc. As a suggestion, I would try this rom: GRIMLOCK_CM_3.0 as it is the rom I am working on. It would be easiest for me to help on that.

Okay, will do. I'll download and it and give it a shot. I'm not very good with the logcat stuff, lol, but I will do my best.
Well, it boots into the rom and I get a little circle which is a mouse I guess. I can get around and I can get into settings but I can't figure out how to get down to about tablet so I can get to usb debugging. If I try to adb while it's booting up adb just says waiting for device... So I can't do the logcat. Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong or a way to get adb working?

Okay, I wasn't sure if you meant to flash both files one right after the other, so I flashed the rom, then the test. Sticks me at CyanogenMod animation. Then I did a clean flash of just the rom, rebooted and flashed the test, it booted, said Android is updating apps and then gets stuck at starting apps. So then I rebooted just to see if maybe that would do it but that just sticks at CM animation once again.

Instead of being able to just touch the screen and make choices, this little round circle pops up when you touch the screen and you have to move that little circle around and tap on the circle twice to make choices. It's like using a touch pad for the mouse on a laptop. For instance, if you want to open settings you have to position the little circle on the settings button, tap twice, it opens settings, then you have to position the circle on say wifi and tap the circle again. To scroll, you have to position the little circle at the very bottom of settings, and it's a hit or miss type of thing, tap it and then move it upwards to get to the bottom, like about tablet and tap the little circle again. Does that make since? The rom is basically mouse driven instead of touch driven.
This logcat is while it's booting and also once I'm in the rom.
Bluetooth is definitely working. I connected a bluetooth mouse and I can navigate with that instead of having to navigate with the little circle.

Stuck in cwm recovery!! Help!!!

Okay, so here's my situation...
I installed TWRP with no issues, and a few days later installed CWM recovery (just because it's what I'm used to from previous device usage), but just today an OTA occurred. Yes, I'm an idiot and was warned not to do this and for that I am getting hit my some severe karma. Anyways, all I want to do is get my device working again. I could care less if it's stock, and I lose all of my data. I just want it to return to normal functionality. I'm on CWM version 6.0.4.4 and have no ADB support so I'm unable to push any files for a restore. Also, I have backups in my TWRP folder, but cannot access them from the restore from /sdcard menu. If anyone out there could help me out I'd be so damn grateful. Thanks!!!

FIXED!
If anyone out there needs help with this issue, I've found a very simple quick fix.
1. http://koush.com/post/universal-adb-driver Download and install this. For some reason it enables you to use ADB while in CWM.
2. Plug in your device while powered on and in recovery mode.
3. Now, enter the following commands in order.
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota of=/sdcard/fota-backup.img
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
4. TA DA! You should be able to reboot your device in full functionality!
Note: The command prompt was copy and pasted by me from this forum --- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
Big thanks to thecubed for getting me outta this one!

3. Now, enter the following commands in order.
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota of=/sdcard/fota-backup.img
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
4. TA DA! You should be able to reboot your device in full functionality!
Note: The command prompt was copy and pasted by me from this forum --- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
Big thanks to thecubed for getting me outta this one!

I am in the same situation. Please describe it in detail as to where to enter the command. Specifically where do I get "adb shell" and how to get this command prompt. Thank you so much
I was having the same problem tried everything to get it to reboot even the universal drivers still didn't work. I ended up using ubuntu and installing the jdk and sdk then ran the command that was in the TWRP tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696) and it worked like a charm. 9 hours though :/ hope this helps a little bit. if you dont have a computer running ubuntu just make a live cd and you can do it from that!
this was the link to the question I had posted.

Worked beautifully, after a few hours, almost gave up. This was so simple, it's aggravating.
same problem stuck in cwm menu

Deep, Deep Brick (LG G2 D802)

Hi guys,
After a long search on XDA, unfortunately I couldn't find the answer to my problem, so need to start a new threat.
This is the case: phone is on 5.0 CM12, tried to install twrp on it via the twrp market-app. When needed to reboot phone went dead and wouldn't turn on anymore. Tried to reflash firmware but my phone won't boot into download mode. When trying to do that, my pc just opens 7 screens with removable disk E:, F:, K:, L; etc.
In computer manager it also won't show the LGE port, which I would need to use to repair my phone. I never had something this bad before. Does anyone please know what to do?
Thnx in advance very much!

Thnx mate.. only one noob question: how do I boot into Ubuntu?
I don't really know a lot about rooting either but I can tell you that you, well, have to have ubuntu installed as your OS.
anyways me and my brother tried it and it didn't really work, because the G2 was only connected to the laptop for a few seconds.
I just wrapped it up now and im going to send it back tomorrow. I hope I'm lucky... good luck with your brick

lost adb connection, no system partition

I lost the ADB connection while writing the system partition to my Nexus 10, rendering it a doorstop. I was using Windows 7 through Parallels on a Mac. I googled the problem after this happened and found out that flakey ADB connections are a Mac thing. Had I known that, I never would have done this on the Mac. Too late now. Here's a thread about the problem.

I have TWRP installed, but the only partitions it lets you flash are boot and recovery. Why?? If it has the ability to let you flash those two, why not let you flash the other ones??
I can't establish an ADB connection if I can't boot the device, and I can't boot the device when it doesn't have a system partition.
Please, could someone tell me how to make this tablet no longer a doorstop? I really like it. How do I get a system partition onto it?
Thank you.

Greetings,
Thank you for using XDA Assist. To get you the specific assistance you need, I'm going to move this thread to the Nexus 10 Q&A forum. Good luck!
I've solved the problem now, thanks.

I hate this kind of posts. Don't write only I have solved the problem. describe how you solve it. So other people (like me) with the same error could try it.

Totally agree. I usually don't do this. I don't remember what the issue was anymore, but I suspect that I was making a stupid mistake, and that's why I didn't explain it.
