I installed stock ROM on my phone. Everything was working fine but then it started to lag. After lagging for a bit it just froze up. The background went black and the phone became unresponsive. I cant get it to turn on in recovery or down load mode. The way it froze makes me wonder if the phone will ever restart. Is there anything I can do to get it into download mode or recovery even though its completely dead?

Explanation:
Tuesday afternoon I was getting out of my car and dropped my phone like I have done hundreds of times but this time my N4 with the official bumper fell face-up into a small stream of running water on the side of the street. I quickly picked it up and wiped it off and tested it and everything seemed ok but I turned it off to be safe. I came home about an hour later and put it in a container of rice and let it dry overnight with a fan blowing over it. I booted it the next morning and everything was working as it was the day before.
At this point I was stock everything, no root and never been rooted.
Fast forward 2 days laters my device has been plagued with random restarts and/or turning off. At this point I had not installed any new apps or changed any settings so I'm pretty confident it was some rogue app causing this trouble. So I had planned on doing a factory reset but 4.4 was out so I decided if I was going to set everything up again I might as well try the update. I decided to try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2507021 and everything worked fine. I cleared the cache and everything, a fresh start. I had no errors trying to install CWM or the ROM and KitKat worked on my phone just beautifully but then it started rebooting/turning off again.
So I went back to stock. Erased the whole device and flashed the radio, bootloader and 4.3 hoping/thinking it was 4.4 causing the trouble but still the same thing. I don't know what else to do so I have come to you XDA!
Weird behavior I have noticed
phone will boot when charger is plugged in
sometimes can't turn on phone without the phone charging - fastboot or normal boot
When I say turn off I mean like the battery has been pulled out of it
Reboots are completely random, sometimes vary from a few minutes to couple of hours of booting up. It happens when the phone is idle and it happens when I'm using the device in more apps that I can remember.
Scenarios & Outcomes
Full boot in 4.3 - Turns off eventually
Full boot in 4.4 - Turns off eventually
Safe mode boot in 4.3 or 4.3 - Turns off eventually
boot into fastboot - Restart the first time then it works as expected
boot into stock recovery - Restarts
boot into cwm recovery 6.0.4.3 - Restarts
Turn on phone - Reboots after google logo shows and boots normally only to turn off eventually by itself
Overclocked too high? Rice blocking cooling, maybe blow compressed through it? Good luck!

Hi guys!
I devoted myself a complete evening into fixing my little brothers GS5. 2 weeks ago he told me he was installing an original Samsung update. However after this update his phone would randomly turn off after a few minutes of being on. So I guessed something was wrong with the software. I flashed a stock rom onto the phone, but now it doesn't even boot. I tried multiple stock versions of Android 4x 5x and 6 for the GS5. None of them made the phone boot. Sometimes it showed the Samsung logo, but most often just black screen. I can't boot into recovery either, the same story. I tried twrp, the lights of the buttons were on, but the screen wouldn't turn on. When the phone normally boots with a black screen I sometimes get notifications though. LED flashes sometimes and there's audio.
Anyone having any thoughts how I can fix this? Help is much appreciated!
I've been having some problems with my Galaxy S5 recently after ~2 years and some change of owning it. I'm stock rooted on the original ANCG KitKat version.
The problem: If I power off my phone, it will cause it to go into a bootloop, not going past the first screen (Samsung Galaxy S5, powered by android). I haven't found a reliable way to fix it from the loop, but I usually just remove the battery, wait, and try again until somehow it just works and boots up. This is extremely problematic because sometimes my battery runs out and after charging I'll have to go through this game of chance again until my phone works.
The next problem also adds to this frustration as well. When I attempt to pick up a call, my phone will sometimes just not work and restart itself. This leads to lots of confusion and I can't call them back for some time because the phone is stuck in a bootloop.
In the few times that I do get my phone to actually boot up, everything works fine except sometimes my Wifi just doesn't work. It gets stuck on "turning on" where the notification drawer quick setting icon is dim green and never gets to the turned on full green state, eventually just turning itself off (no green color).
I haven't done a factory reset or any real troubleshooting yet, as I'm a bit worried I won't even be able to boot up the phone and I don't have the time yet to spend a full day fixing it. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
The calling problem may be caused by the google dialer app not being set as the the default phone app but as for the other issues i have no idea a factory reset is a good start though
unfortunately I had the same problem but I have marshmallow but the factory reset helped with the not booting up and see a big difference with the battery
Hi all!!
Unfortunately my first post here starts with something not quite fun.
My BS2 has just randomly decided to go into a bootloop (I think it's called.). It doesn't even get past the logo screen and it's totally unresponsive to all buttons. So, not quite sure what to call this.
I have NOT EVER rooted my device or flashed any firmware or messed with it in any way.
I was just using it normally when it suddenly started flashing and turned off, never to turn on again.
The phone is running the latest version of the Global from. Nothing else to describe really except that the phone is bone stock with nothing ever done to it.
Would really appreciate any insight anyone would have on this!
Same problem
Hi! I have an S10+ Snapdragon, I bought it a year ago, the firsts weeks the phone worked perfectly, but as time passed, the phone started to reboot suddenly, no matter what I was doing, sometimes playing music, watching videos, or chatting in whatsapp or telegram. Then, I don't know why, the phone got bricked, got stuck in the boot animation and it only started in recovery mode, I made a factory reset from recovery mode, and the phone started only in safe mode. I took it to the technician and he flashed it with Odin and the phone worked again, but still with the sudden reboots.
Few months later, the phone got bricked again, it got stuck in download mode, with the message "hash of data does not match digest in descriptor" in the top left corner, another technician said me it was necessary to change the "motherboard" of the phone, he changed it and the phone worked again and still with the sudden reboots.
Sometimes the phone reboots completely, sometimes it reboots from the end of the boot animation and sometimes it seems that the systemUI restarts because the screen gets black and I have to unlock the phone with my pin again but the apps processes still running normally. Once, the phone rebooted and it got stuck in the lock screen, I wrote my PIN and the phone got back to the lock screen again, and so on... I have to reset it from the recovery mode and it worked again.
Nowadays, the phone stills rebooting suddenly and any app stops working anytime. I've noticed that when it reboots, the middle left side of the phone heats.
Someone knows what can be? Thx in advance for reading and for any help
