What on God's green earth is this battery drain - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

What ever this is is SERIOUSLY draining my battery...
Does anyone have any idea what 10425 is or what it does,?
I haven't installed any new apps besides ESET security.. Can it possibly be that?
Screenshots attached

Uninstall it then and see for yourself

Damn. That's not good.

I would try to factory reset, maybe just a fault installation/update?

Did you get the recent update yet? I use AT&T and just got mine today.

I thought a numbered process always had to do with a removed app, if you didn't uninstall any app prior to ESET (which drained my battery on my Galaxy S2 also) it probably didn't install well. Let us know if you got it fixed, just for future reference

Bug: High CPU load

Ok, so I have this issue with my phone and haven't seen a topic about it, so let's go.
My phone has a heating issue which is cause by an application that makes the cpu run constantly at 50% circa.
The strange thing is, that even though i close all apps via an task manager and system apps too, the cpu keeps on running. The only thing stopping this, is an reboot.
It happens a couple of times a day and i don't know what triggers it. I may be the app market? It happened an hour ago and i had only opened market, browser and gallery - so one of those triggered, I guess? As mentioned, it doesn't help closing all apps though.
Anyone else experiencing this? It drains the battery fast and overheats the phone very bad. I am running ke7. Thx

Theres a lot more running next to the apps you have opened. Most of these processes running on the sgs2 is bloatware.
I have frozen over 20 processes, which keeps my phone cool and makes batterylife longer. I've carefully tested if freezing would do any harm.
Try a different firmware, though it shouldn't happen in the first place.

How do you measure CPU?
Have no problem at all running stock and I didn't freeze anything. Good battery and never hot!
I use same phone company as you do and got my phone 2 weeks ago. So our phones probably came from same production batch (KE2)
SystemPanel app and yes, KE2 batch maybe i should flash the rom again.

Android System Draining Battery..PLEASE Answer.

Have been asking about this problem for days and no one has answered me yet. For the past few days Android System has been using the majority of my battery. Always around 30% or more. I attached screens so you can see the processes running underneath "Android System"

You probably didn't receive an answer because there are COUNTLESS threads on how to find out for yourself what is causing your drain and how to fix it. People need to stop expecting to be spoon fed solutions. You're on a developers forum where there are guaranteed to be bugs and issues, If you can't deal with that, don't hang out here.
Someone had to be the asshole haha
The only solution I can think of, is to periodically close the apps you're using the least, Again though if this doesn't work then of course do the good old factory reset and try again. Anything past that and it's hardware issues.
Download something like Better Battery Stats and see if one of your apps is causing wakelocks. If you don't see any wakelocks, I'd say the next step is to check your CPU settings. Different CPU governors keep the phone awake longer than others before dropping back to deep sleep which could cause higher system drain. Beyond that, if you're rooted reflash whatever you're running, if not try a factory reset.

I clear my recent apps almost every time i am done doing something on my phone. So I dont think that does anything for me.

There arent that many wakelocks. But when there are its normally from Google Search. Is there a way to stop that? And I am using the Google Experience Launcher. Does that effect anything?

I am stock rooted with the Google Experience Launcher.
Also, If I were to factory reset(Which I hope I dont have to), would it be safe to do so even though I am rooted with TWRP installed? Like will there be a risk bricking/bootlooping my phone if I factory reset while rooted with TWRP? Should i factory reset using TWRP or in the settings menu on my phone?
I had the same issue over the past few days, and as simple as it seems, rebooting fixed the problem for me.

Yes, you can even do the factory reset from within TWRP; just select the standard wipe option. I did it yesterday in prep for installing a new ROM. It does take awhile, but I had no problems and my internal "SD" memory wasn't touched.

So if I factory reset through TWRP will I lose root or TWRP itself?

Nope. It just takes you back to the starting blocks of whatever ROM you have loaded. For instance, if you're on stock it takes you back to Day 1 of owning the phone, but doesn't erase anything on the "Internal SD". If you've loaded another ROM, say Malladus or something, it will just take you back to the base of that ROM, with no mods or personal settings.
This is happening to a lot of different people on a lot of different devices. FYI.

I don't know what GEL is.
I may have your answer. Use BetterBatteryStats. Check processes and wakelocks, pretty much everything. Battery Manager was telling me the same thing, but a random game was keeping it awake.

Please Help Crazy Battery Drain!!

Ever since I purchased my Note 3 I have been having crazy battery drain. My phone won't make it past 4 hours. I tried doing a hard reset and it made it for about 11 hours but once I put my apps back on it starts draining crazy again
I have to charge it about 5-6 times a day. For example this morning It has been of the charger for an hour and is down to 78%. In the battery stats it shows media server is using all the battery and I can't for the life of my figure out why or what app could be causing it. My phone also won't update every time I check for one it fails. I havent rooted it or anything I just need it to last as long as my Note 2. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Here is screen shots of all the apps aside from what came allready on my phone.

Extremely high Android System battery usage.. What gives??

This is my first charge cycle but why is Android System higher than my screen, is this normal? Could it be because of the fingerprint scanner? Any help would be appreciated!

Nope! So damn, I factory reset after I rooted, maybe I need to do another one :/
I noticed that my phone would heat up and the battery would drain quickly... then I found this gem.
Activate developer mode... then go into it and all the way at the bottom you can limit background running apps. So far I haven't had a problem

[Q] UK S5 Updated to G900FXXU1ANE2 - Problems

Hi,
A couple of days ago I updated my S5 to G900FXXU1ANE2 with Kies 3 from my PC.
I've noticed worse battery life, but I guess its too early to judge so I'll give it a week or so and a few more cycles.
However, I have noticed that during ALL games the battery gets ridiculously hot. I've never had this on any previous firmware updates. If its related to the flash/firmware then I am tempted to go back as it never used to get hot and battery life was a couple of days.
I know there will be some stock answers advising me to do a factory reset, but I'd really rather not.
Cheers,
GG
Same here..my screen gets very hot since update

I had strange battery life, too.
"Multimedia" drained my battery and phone became hot!
It seems that there is a scan of every media on SD after update..
Today I have another problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2737673
EDIT: Multimedia started again draining my battery.. I can't believe it..!!!
Noticed my battery life isn't as good after the update either. Not noticed any difference heat wise though.

Kill the bluetooth test process, it causes a damned large amount of wakelocks.... that helped a lot for me.
Also NFC despite being turned off, it was causing some wakelocks for me.

Whats the bluetooth test process? I can only see 'bluetooth share' running and it only let's me stop the process not disable.

Change to the All tab in the Application Manager and scroll, it should be below bluetooth share and it will have Force Stop enabled.
Got it. The only thing is that it will restart after every reboot because you can't disable it. I switch my phone off at night. Will force stop and see if it improves my battery life though.

Heres to hoping that Samsung release another update to resolve this.
Its a shame coz on the previous firmware the battery life was awesome.
