So I am not receiving push notifications for Venmo only. All my other apps work fine. I have checked the notification settings within the Venmo app, as well as the Application Manager, both are on. Any advice?

The following is very irritating to me and hopefully i'm not the only one.
I've installed 2 imap accounts and let them check every 5 mins.
Sounds are configured and working but...
When my device is off he gets his mail on schedule. But no notification.
No sound when my device is off. When I turn on my device it lits up in the bottom bar, an enveloppe appears in the top bar and last but not least my sound notification will ring.
Anybody an idea?

I've also scheduled imap automatic check on several mailboxes and I do have a notification sound.
Have you checked the notification sound is enabled when going to parameters/sounds & notifications/notifications/new mail ? You have to enable it yourself since it's not the default behaviour.
Everything in Sounds and Notifications is checked and he does ring only when i turn on the device. Not when it's on stand by

I've been using Chomp sms. But decided to go back to the stock messaging app. Alls fine until I receive an alert - trouble is I can't hear it? I've disabled notification alerts in Chomp, but no audible alert tone is playing in stock app, even tho alert notifications are enabled in stock app.
I'm also not getting the envelope icon on my pull home screen pull down , must be a bug?

SOLVED -just un installed Chomp completely. There was no other way around in. It's as should be now.
Has anyone been able to get this to work? What I want is for Gmail and GoogleHangouts *NOT* to vibrate, but I *do* want a vibration for notifications from SMS. It seems to be that the system ignores my settings within each app, and instead always vibrates.
Strange problem. Don't seem to get Gmail push and/or notifications to work when I receive e-mail. The checker is clearly checked in the gmail settings (though the sound is not). But no notifications are visible in the notification bar when I receive new e-mail.
Anyone with the same problem?

go to label settings in gmail and tick notify for every email
I am unable to disable Group notifications and Message notifications under Chats. This setting is under Settings > Apps & Notifications > Notifications > Whatsapp. If I disable after some time I find slider is again green and notifications show up. Is there no permanent way to disable notifications as sometimes notifications are annoying as they keep filling up on the home page. Thanks
You can disable the notifications completely under Apps & notifications -> notifications and choosing the app you wish and turning off notifications as a whole or turn it off for specific category.
Hi. Ya thats what I have done. If you read my query I have disabled group and regular notifications yet after some time it shows up under notifications and when I go to check settings they revert back to allowed (Green Dot). It says as Grey Dot only for some time. Is this an issue with all android devices or specific to this device?
you can just disable the notification entirely in the application setting.
