Third party chargers for the N4

Ive noticed the stock wall charger delivered with the Nexus 4 is rated at 1.2A, 5.0V. My old phone had a micro usb charger at 0.8A, 5.0V. I imagine the N4 will charge on the lower rated charger, but would take longer. Isnt the standard usb rated at 0.5A? My desktop PC has a new Asus board that has the Charge+ 3X Faster Charging, which I would guess means the usb can pump out power at 1.5A. Looking around for a car charger and additional wall charger, I imagine the N4 would be fine with a higher and lower rated charger? Or should I stick with 1.2A or less? Ive seen car chargers at 1.0A, 2.1A, and 3.0A.
the n4 will only take the current that it needs. a higher Amps- rated charger won't hurt it.
i use a 2.5A portapow quad output charger, the extra power of which enables the charging of multiple devices simultaneously.
I bought this charger for s2 when I had it.. and sold the phone immediately. However I still have this charger. Now what I want to do is, keep one charger (stock) at home and the other (Nokia one...which is also Original) at my workplace. I want to know, is it compatible? As the manual say, u shouldn't use 3rd party chargers. So I want to know your expert opinions "before" start using it on N4.
Thank you
I use my old blackberry + LG car charger
^ You think this would go fine with my N4?
The Output/Input is all same.. only 160 mA is diffrent from the Stock charger. So I don't really know.

USB type C to USB A fast charging?

Are USB type C to USB A cables capable of fast charging? Or is USB type C to USB type C the only way of getting fast charging?
You can get somewhat fast charging on an A to C cable theoretically, up to 2.4A, however as USB Type A isn't rated at 3A you won't get the full speed of a true Type C fast charger. I found with many Type A 2.4A chargers though that none say fast charging, but that may just be because I'm using the cable that came with my 6P.
I bought this cable and plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on my pc. It delivers just as much juice as the stock charger. The two both charge at the same rate.
Updated. I'll add that USB 3.0 is capable of delivering up to 5 amps with the right cable.

I have the Play store Google cables and they won't rapid charge with my car rapid charger , but the Type-C to Type-C google cables will with same charger . So I'm thinking no but I don't have a AC rapid charger to confirm .

A USB 3.0 port on a PC can only deliver up to 900mAh. The stock charger is 3000mAh.

That is a big difference in mAh. It does rapid charge pretty fast though when plugged into my pc. It did not rapid charge with the cable Google provided though. I had to buy the joto which I showed above.

Does your phone say rapid charging? What does Ampere show as the rate of charge?
Before the car was broken into I had a Belkin 4 port charger and the A-C cord delivered fast charging just fine, the one it came with AND the third party cord I ended up using also, have a couple of Yoozon branded cords from Amazon
I have a-c cable, and tried charge it using a 2.0a power bank. It says charging rapidly. Is it save to charge this phone using power bank?

Yes. It says rapid charging. I'm not home now but will check what it says it charges at. I did grab a screen shot yesterday though. You can see by "USB debugging connected" that I am in fact plugged into my pc and it says rapid charging.
Connected to pc I get Max 1050 mAh. On stock charger I get 1850 mAh Max. So the stock charger will be about 40% quicker than USB 3.0. Guess one could just buy a USB C 3.1 pci card if they need it as fast as the stock charger

The stock charger is 3000mAh, so depending on how low your battery is (it charges at a higher amperage at a lower battery, and slower as it gets close to full), you would likely see 2500-3000mAh when charging a nearly empty battery, which would be 3x faster than a computer USB port. I'm not sure why it says charging rapidly though, that should only happen if it's above 2000mAh or so.

Maybe an extra pin being present tricks it(wild guess). I did notice the fluctuations in mAh and am glad to know that's normal . One thing I noticed in the app ampere is it said the port was capable of delivering 1800 so maybe it's just reporting wrong in marshmallow.

1A charger vs 2A charger vs micro usb vs usb 3.0

Hy guys,
so, i have a normal 1A charger with a standard usb to micro usb cable. It takes around 3 hours for a full charge.
I was wondering if i can reduce the charging time if i buy a usb 3.0 cable and use it with my 1A charger. Will i see an improvement in the charging speed? Do i need a 2A charger, and if yes, will it work faster with the normal cable i already have?
Thanks!
ps. my phone is on 4.4.2 with root
The USB 3.0 cable only improves data transfer from the computer to the phone, not charge speed. And yes, a 2A charger will charge faster but only if your current cable supports the 2A. If you have a generic, cheap cable it is most likely it will still only draw 1A of charge.
Thank you. So i probably need to get both the cable and the charger then.

Recommend USB Cable for Zenfone 3 ZE552KL

Hi guys, I'm buying a Zenfone 3 and need few recommedations of this type of usb cable. It because I'm new with usb type C cable. In Asus' website i was reading about it comes with a Usb cable type C 2.0. So, in another page I saw that if I use another kind o type C cable the phone could die by overheating.
I'll be so grateful for your answers
You can't really get a bad USB-C cable if you stick to the OEM charger. Just get whatever.

POWERBANK for S7 EDGE with FAST ADAPTIVE CHARGING SPEED

Hi all,
I want to buy min 20000mAh capacity powerbank for me and my wife's S7 Edge phones and capable of fast charging both S7 Edges simultaneously.
I already bought Anker Powercore Elite 20000mAh ( https://www.anker.com/products/variant/PowerCore-Elite-20000mAh/A1273011 ) but, it does not charge them with fast charging !
I tried many cables (all of them orginal and official) but the results are the same: "cable charging" !
So, can anyone suggest me 20000+ powerbank with fast adaptive charging for S7 edge for sure, even better if real user with real experience?

Thanks. I checked it out but not enough for us :/
Also, it is surprising that Xiaomi can support fast charge for Samsung S7 Edge but Anker can't !
Mine was Anker Powercore Elite 20000 and had 3 usb output, total 6A. If 2 phones charge at the the same time, 3A for each. But still says "cable charging" :/
My orginal samsung fast travel adapter is 2.1A and says "fast charging"

Are u sure the Anker that u bought is fast charging support ? Try with different cables bro. I will check for a 20000 mah MI PB and give u link
Your Anker powerbank doesn't support fast charge.
Samsung fast charge work by increase voltage from 5V to 9V but lower current from 2.0A to 1.67A, which give the total power of 15W (9V×1.67A) up from 10W (5V×2.0A)
So for powerbank to support fast charge, it must be able to output 9V.

Thanks for the advice.Yes i checked that out also and it supports quick charge only if 1 phone is charging.
But i decided to buy Xiaomi Mi ( 2nd Gen) Powerbank 20000 mAh. It has also QC 3.0 and almost half price cheaper. I read the comments about it and most of the users are happy.
