HTC ONE M9e problem after rushing TWRP 3.0.0.2 Install - One (M9+) General

Hello.
I need some help to restore to factory.
The phone is the HTC One M9e -- Android Version: 5.0.2 -- HTC Sense Version 7.0 -- Software Number: 1.03.709.13
I have unlocked the bootloader and the software status is **Modified**
I believe the problem is when I used fastboot to install TWRP 3.0.0.2 without reading that this is actually an upgrade and TWRP earlier versions must have been intalled prior. As a result now, I am unable to get past -- BOOT TO RECOVERY MODE -- When I press power button, I see...
"This build is for development purposes only..."
The only option left is to reboot the phone after this. Here are some additional details...
HTC_HIMAR 128 SHIP S-ON
CID-HTC__621
LK-1.01.0000 013d9a88
OS-1.03.709.13
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks..

You should be able to get to download mode and flash twrp 2.9.0.1 and then supersu 2.65..

Thanks for replying, but I don't see a twrp 2.9.0.1
where do I find this?

Bloody good question.. I can't find it either but i have it installed on my m9..

I guess Captain Throwback removed the download link from his thread (that version has never been available on the official website). [Edit: The following recommendations apply to the M9 (codename: HIMA).] According to him the recommended versions are 2.8.7.1-CPTB-Beta1 (can be found in his thread) for firmware versions 2.x or lower and 3.0.0-2 (can be found on the official website) for firmware versions 3.x. I've been using both versions without any problems.
Edit @cnsops: I just saw that you own a M9e (codename: HIMAR) and not a M9 (codename: HIMA). I'm not sure whether those TWRP versions are compatible with your phone. You might risk a brick by flashing them.

search for Himar TWRP on google the first link has a recovery that works in HTC M9e, already tested.

Nice... Thanks for noticing, and the "heads up"
I didn't think that mattered, but it does. I won't be making that mistake again.

Just found new TWRP Recovery 3.0.2.0 for HIMAR:

Could you recommend me a custom rom for this model? I installed twrp 3.0.2.0 HIMAR VERSION and now i'am searching for a custom rom.

After flashing TWRP I have an bootloop, what to do now? :/

I know this is a rather old thread but I am having a terrible headache trying to find that .img for m9e, can anybody post a relevant download source? My phone won't take any TWRPs at all anymore. Looks like I got myself into trouble... Thanks in advance!

thanks for the information

New 1.29.1540.16 Update For US Developer Edition...

Guys, just checked and there is an update to 1.29.1540.16. I am installing now. Hopefully it has the cameras fixes.

Well no new camera, but they did fix the home and back button sensitivity. They work consistently as they should now.

Could you post a TWRP nandroid of boot/system/data(preload only) thanks.
Custom recovery update?
I have the Team Win's recovery flashed on my Dev Edition. When I try to update, TWRP starts and no update happens.
How should the OTA updates be addressed with custom recoveries?
No updates yet for international version. I am still using 1.29.707.16 Hopefully we get the new updates soon.

I am on AT&T edition running a dev edition ROM. It is showing the update for me but I am on CWM recovery. I'm assuming all we need is stock recovery for it to work right?

Just said system enhancements. We came from 1.29.1540.3, not 1.26 or 1.28, so probably not much changed for us. I didn't have any issues with my back and home buttons before the update so not sure about that. The update was about 17 MB.

You need stock recovery for OTAs, otherwise wait for someone to release a zip unless you know how to make one yourself.

Nice! Just got the update notice too (on a US developer edition). Using CWM right now, so have to get back to stock recovery right?
Could anyone confirm this will do the job?
unzip PN07IMG_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.3.zip
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
Please confirm. Thanks!
EDIT: Just tried it and it hangs at "Entering recovery". How is one supposed to flash the stock recovery?
EDIT 2: Ok, I had to use the "ruuveal" tool on the RUU zip file, then unzip the result and install the original recovery with fastboot. It worked
Have the 32gb unlocked version and installed the update. 17.5 MB.
Smooth like butter.
Downloaded, said couldn't update. I am on a custom kernel and have cwm, also I am technically on an AT&T phone even though I'm on DE ROM.

as long as you are stock or rooted on stock rom with stock recovery, you will be updated.

Since we do not currently have any OTA updates nor does anyone have the device yet, I'm merely waiting for someone to get the actual device and provide the following information:
1. HBOOT version (can be retrieved from the bootloader screen)
2. Baseband version
3. The values of ro.build.date.utc and ro.build.fingerprint from /system/build.prop.
Please make sure to get this information before applying any out-of-the-box OTA update that might be available for the phone. At that stage, you can feel free to apply any OTA update that's available, then please get this information again post-update.
Thank you!

Hey guys,
Today is Nexus OTA day, Android 4.4.3/KTU48F. So, if history holds up, we'll be seeing GPE OTAs in about 2 weeks. This will obviously be the first OTA for the M8 GPE. I just want to put it on everyone's radar that if you get the OTA, please post the filename here. You can get it from logcat. If you get the OTA, but don't know how to get the filename, let me know and I'll help you out.
Thanks!
So, I'm hoping someone here on XDA actually owns an M8 GPE (a real one, not a converted one) and will be able to help get the OTA URLs. Do I have any volunteers? Thanks in advance!

What's the difference if it's a real one or converted one? The ota will be the same.. The URL will be the same... The file will be the same.. It shouldn't matter if it's a real one or a converted one (which in the system's eye there is no difference between a converted one and "real" one.)

By "converted", I meant people who are just running a GPE ROM. If there's a full conversion that allows you to use the bootloader and radio as well, and allows you to accept OTAs, then yeah, by all means, help a brother out!

hey guys. So I have a "real" GPE from google. I've been reading a lot around here as my only past experience is with samsung and nexus devices so this is a bit different.
It's also hard cause there is much more info on the carrier devices and hard to sift through and see what applies to the GPE variant.
So I've learned my system partition is different. I can look into that further I'm pretty good on samsung on messing with stock images and adjusting them.
Bootloader unlock is trivial on GPE, fastboot oem unlock.
I flashed twrp and rooted.
Last thing is s-off. Is s-off easier on GPE like bootloader unlock or would I still need firewater for it?
To the point of this thread, when an OTA comes out will that effect s-off? I imagine it'd remove root but I believe I can edit the image to retain root and flash with TWRP easy enough, I've done it on samsung and nexus devices enough.
How's the gpe radio compared to tmobiles?

It definitely shouldn't affect S-OFF, but as with any OTA with any device known to man, it will kill root. But since you have an unlocked bootloader, you can just reroot after the OTA flashes. :good:

Correct. The GPE only allows unlocking the bootloader. S-OFF is not available through officially sanctioned channels.

Hi,
here is the flashable *.zip file wich installs latest Sony Bugfix Release of Stock 5.1.1 Lollipop ROM 23.4.A.0.570 (Japan), latest SuperSu v2.49 beta (works stable for me since weeks!) and latest NUT Dualrecovery 2.8.21 with read and write access to system. Because device is Wi-Fi only region doesn´t matter. Only difference is maybe pre installed bloatware by region.
Thx to PRF Creator and Flashtool.
UPDATE - FILE DELETED. Please use Release from kulvertti
Of course i tested the release before uploading on my own Device. So far no errors found after upgrading.
I am not responsible for any damage to your Device or your Data! Be careful and make a Backup before flashing!
Tested now for some hours. Runs very stable.

By the way, do you have the MD5 checksum of this file? I hate to download a corrupted file. Thanks.
No. The Checksum Creation is not needed and only optional at PRF Creator. Never needed it for myself.
I'd also like the MD5. After I download, I'll post it. But if anyone else already has it, please post.
Here's what I show:
d00b36c07fa696f5803eb7671be2c518
Obviously, it could have an error and be corrupted, but I expect it's right. I guess if I flash it OK, then we'll know.
Couldn't the "No service"in the lockscreen be fixed by a module in xposed, like Xperia Xposed? I know the author would have to add it, but there's no harm in suggesting it?

quick question
Sorry for the amateur hour question, but I am 100% new to this rooting bussiness.
Do I need to Root my Z2 tablet before I do this?
Is there anywhere a ELI5 guide for someone who has never rooted a device before and is therefore ignorant about all the terms (Prerooted, ROM, Kernel, Flashing, etc)
my tablet is updated to 5.1.1 build 23.4.A.0.546
Sorry for being a pain, and thanks in advnce for any guidance.
BTW, I already tried using KingRoot and it fails at about 16%

No gurantee. Better pack your own with the Tools from first Post. It's easy.
Just flashed .570 last night and this morning I'm not getting 5gHz Wi-Fi. My dual band router is serving both bands to other devices, so that works; it's successfully serving my SGP511 at 2.4gHz. Anybody else? More importantly, any ideas how to diagnose the problem (I'm stumped)?
Check your Router. No problems here using 2.4 and 5.

No problem, start from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2794175
Download and flash the dualrecovery, and you are almost there.

You're being misguided here a little bit.
You will not be able to install dual recovery because you will not be able to gain root. Your device is having lollipop, so exploits used to for gaining root will not work in your case.
What you need to do is to downgrade from LP to some kitkat version where the exploits will work. Then you'll be able to install dual recovery and only after that you'll be able to flash pre-rooted lollipop.
To downgrade you need to use FTF from FTF collection (version prior to or equal 17.1.A.0.402)

Systemless root with 6.0.1

Hey guys,
Anyone using systemless root with any versions of 6.0.1? I am still on 6.0.0 because I did not find a systemless root version except the original one posted on chainfire's site from late last year. I know the version of the systemless root matters as the kernel version matters for it to build the correct boot image.
I am not asking how to do it, just if anyone has successfully done this and which files (file names would be nice, so I can google 'em) did you use, to do it.
I have done a ton of searches all over the place and can not find one way or the other out there.
I don't want to hear a bunch of systemless vs non-systemless root stuff, please.
Thanks!
Hello old friend! I don't see many folks from the Atrix2 around anymore.

I am using SuperSU 2.72 systemless with the latest stock 6.01. You could also use the newer BETA-SuperSU-v2.74-2-20160519174328.zip, I suppose.

Wow! Hey there, been a long time. Good to see you over here. Yeah I haven't seen too many of the old Atrix2 crew around the site for a while. It was almost as if most fell off the face of the earth.
This is my 4th Nexus device, and I will not go to anything else at this point. I am still working on the Ubuntu phone from a dev standpoint, plus a few things here with Android.
Hope to see you around here more often.

Hey meekrawb thanks for the info. I went to chanfire's site an took a look and the only boot image for the 6P is the mb08k image, which is the 6.0.0 release, and not a boot image for the later releases including the newer 6.0.1. I am guessing that since it is the boot image that the actual release verision is arbitrary, but just want to be sure. I plan on trying it anyhow as I can just flash a proper image if it gets into a bootloop.

You don't need those special boot images anymore. When you flash the zip it automatically patches your boot.img.

I think you'll find userdata and cache won't change throughout the lifecycle of nougat. Through something like 14 MM updates they never changed (same MD5) until Nougat came (where they did change) and then through 2 releases they haven't changed.

I would recommend you follow Heisenberg's guide, section 9 "How To Update To A New Build Of The Stock ROM"

You are right, they most likely won't change throughout the lifecycle of nougat. I just mentioned them for the sake of completeness.

Do It A Your Own Risk. I am not responsible if you make a mistake.
I found this method on the Internet and I applied it to my phone right now:
(WITH THIS METHOD YOU WILL NOT LOSE ROOT, CUSTOM RECOVERY)
1.Download the ZIP.
2.Download FlashFire.
3.Open flashfire and accept for root access etc etc...
4.click "+" button and click to "flash firmware package" and find the ZIP.
5.Wait for a couple o seconds or 2mins, and then uncheck the "Recovery" (if you don't want to lose the custom recovery) and "Data" (maybe on your device will be already unchecked so keep it unchecked if you don't want to lose your data) and then I clicked the "ν" button.
6.Click "Flash". Your screen will be black for a minute and then you will see a progress bar at the bottom of your screen and log of FlashFire what installs on your device.
7.When it finish flashing, your device will be automatically reboot.
8.Wait a couple of minutes (approximately 3-6 mins).
9.Your device is running the latest Android Version with the latest Security patches and you have also root back....

Strange that you didn't include a reference to where you got it on the Internet. Many times, they provide more detail than just the steps and took time create the content and test the procedure.

Only problem with FlashFire is CF himself says not to flash a bootloader or radios so when there a change there you either have to make a twrp flashable or use fastboot to get atw updated.. Has anyone used FF to flash bootloader? I'm curious....

My build number changed to N5D91L after the November update, not NRD91N. How come?
In the past there were some different builds for different countries with a different radio.img. So where do you come from?
I live in the UK.
Edit: And my radio is still 2.6.33.2.14.
Hm...I've only found a lot of japanese sites (f.e. Y!Mobile (is that yahoo?) if I search for this build. Don't know if there is a coherence.
N5D91L is 7.0.0_r21 while NRD91N is 7.0.0_r15. Probably a quick hotfix on the unfixed dirtycow exploit + other fixes . Too lazy to check the real changes on git.
Since some of us is still waiting for the ota by phases and by the time we are getting it, google already roll out N5D91L. Thus the mysterious build update emerged. The others on NRD91N will get it or probably not, until December.

Nevermind, apparently it's a regular build - see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/help/n5d91l-strange-android-build-t3500378
November OTA patch has new tag:
Just captured this from my 5X.
Source: google/bullhead/bullhead:7.0/NBD90W/3239497:user/release-keys
Target: google/bullhead/bullhead:7.0/N5D91L/3425233:user/release-keys
https://android.googleapis.com/packa...a1f18978ec.zip
So looks like the new build is not NRD91N but N5D91L.
