No, under absolutely no circumstances should anyone give to you their EFS information/backup. It's illegal for a start. You should have made a backup of your EFS, you're going to have to send it for repair.

^^This, exactly.

[Q] Back from repair, IMEI restored, but empty efs and wifi reboots the phone?

I lost efs together with imei last week when I tried to flash a different modem. Running out of options I sent the phone to a repairer.
Today, after one week, I picked it up from them and they somehow got the imei back and the phone is working while I was still at their office.
Now I'm home and tried to connect it to my home's wifi, as soon as it connects, the phone reboots. It's very stable on mobile data though.
I cleared data, flashed different roms, but wifi connection always reboots it.
Then I looked in the efs folder and surprise, it's empty!!! I don't know whether that's the cause of the wifi problem, but isn't it odd that the phone runs ok otherwise without efs?
Anybody has any idea of what's happening to my phone? Can my wifi problem be fixed?
I do actually have an efs backup that I've done back in January. But I just can't remember what tool I used to make that file. The file name is "efs.img". Any suggestion at all?

(HELP) with NV DATA

Hey Guys I need some help with Nv data (EFS )
The NV data baseband is I9500UBUAMDE nonetheless my firmware baseband is I9500UBUGNJ1
I think this is why my phone do not have a stable conection with cel-towers...
So I need to know, how to update the nv data without corrupt it?
Kindly regards,
AG
Just flash a stock ROM using Odin. This will ensure that the bootloader and modem match.
Already did it some many times... Without results...
The phone is missing the imei and MAC address?
No one is missing...
Phone signal Goes out and in.
However while the phone has signal. I can call and navigate on internet..
Do you need the efs folder?
If the phone has an imei, then it seems like the efs folder may be fine and something else is happening.
So flashes are successful in Odin?
Could the phone be blacklisted? Was it ever dropped? Tried a different SIM card? Tried our SIM card in another phone?
Ok, I have to be honest... I was on 4.4.2
I try to use galaxysim unlock. However EFS was v2 and I restore a v1 efs folder in order to unlock the phone. It works. However after upgrade to 5.0. It start to fluctuate the signal...
Note: v1 and v2 are versions in matter of security of the EFS folder...
That is how this how begins...
Did you restore the original version 2 efs? Do you have a backup of the original efs? If not, I'm not sure if an nvwriter will help.
I think I do not have one...
What should I do?.....
I'm not sure what to suggest. Maybe Google nvwriter and see if it works with your phone.

IMEI Writing I9500

Yesterday I decided to Upgrade my S4 i9500 to 6.0, the rom is amazing (despite the amount of battery it consumes) but when trying to acces to the imei (*#06#) it shows 0049990106..... as you might notice not my imei, I did this EFS.img backup, via terminal but now I am not able to restore it via terminal, I rooted the phone but I just can't do it. i wonder If i can Write the imei via PC or APK since i have it wrote down in my phone bill but obviously now the warranty is totally void... so I have the efs but I can't restore it (it shows succed restoration but nothing happens, no imei change) and i have the IMEI number and i really need help what can I do?
If it were that simple to change the IMEI, then anyone could just borrow a phone from somebody, get the IMEI, and do some mischief with that IMEI.
Did you restore the imei to a stock ROM?

Take the device to a service center and have them fix it. You backed up the EFS partition, but nv_data, which contains the IMEI, is no longer stored there. Thus the IMEI was not backed up, which is why you can't restore it.

NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK AFTER UPDATING ROM

Hello, everyone! This is my first post on XDA so sorry if it ain't in the right place.
So... What I did is manually updated my S8 to Android 9 through Odin but it isn't receiving signal and it shows that I'm not registered on network. I already tried everything I could but I can't solve this issue. Can someone help me?
Edit: my phone was working perfectly before I ruined it all.
IMEI ok, signal ok, it's not a hardware problem. I've tried configuring APNs and the ROM is the correct for my phone, country and carrier. I just don't know what is wrong. Thanks for all the replies
Try these:
Reconfigure APN's in the cellular data settings.
Check if your phone has IMEI, if you flash-all you may also lose the EFS partition. If so you have to restore your EFS partition backup.
If you flashed the wrong carrier's android, you'll have to flash the correct one. For example your phone is T-Mobile, but you flashed AT&T version.
Goodluck.

Hello! Thanks for commenting.
I tried configuring APNs but it still not working.
I'm sure I flashed the correct ROM.
I think I lost the EFS partition as you say, since I didn't backed up anything (I'm feeling silly). How do I restore my EFS partition? Thanks again!

Check your device IMEI first if it says null or unknown or something similar then you indeed have corrupted EFS.
To check your device IMEI, open dialer then dial *#06#
As for how to fix this, as far as I know without a backup you can't. EFS partition is automatically backed up in any nandroid backup made by TWRP.
You can try XPOSED IMEI changer or if magisk has a similar module.

I honestly have no idea man, sorry not being of much help.
All I can help with is provide you with this tool.
On a side note the image you put there is completely useless and it only exposes your IMEI. The barcode also contains info about your IMEI.
Goodluck.

I saw your thread and my guess is that your device is network locked by IMEI, if you contact your network provider they can confirm it for you otherwise try a different sim card and see if it works.

perhaps you need to reflash the modem.img on your device, you can get it from here
Did you find a fix for this issue? I've same issue with my S8+. Phone keeps saying there is a Network or SIM Card error on any Lineage ROM (with Android 12 or 13).
