I changed from Note 3 to s 6 edge plus recently
The battery drops 5% per hour overnight when not in use. If I go to bed with less than 40% battery at night I am sure to wake up with my phone switched off in the morning.
When in use with screen on, the battery drips one percent every two minutes. This is the worst battery life I have ever seen in a phone. I was a long loyal customer of samsung and this is my last samsung phone ever.
Extremely disappointed
Please post your battery stats ? so we can have a better understanding of your problem. I suggest you install 'Doze' which should stop unnecessary apps from connecting to the internet and causing your phone to awake from deep sleep.
Dear Akbar 11
Heres the battery stats....is it normal?
I had the same issue, and as far as I managed to find out, it is a bug in Samsung's kernel. Flashing Arter97 kernel solved the issue for, but do post battery stats from SmartManager. If it says 'Android' or 'Android OS', then you have the same problem many of us do.
I don't think it's a kernel problem. My android OS is very low 4%. Like zoolok said post your battery stats from settings, battery, battery usage
I have the same problem. Battery was great before I flash custom rom. After going back to stock I have big battery draining. I must stay on custom rom. With Audax rom and Skyhigh kernel i have great battery life.
You have either messed up something big or you have an app in the background that is eating up your battery like no tomorrow.
And the reason i say that is because i recently got this battery life on my Galaxy S6 edge+.
And this was taken 2 days ago.
Here i use the CRISSCROSS ROM, AudaxPro Kernel, Greeinify and Samsung's own 'Appoptimizing' feature (same as Doze in Android 6.0).
So my battery life is pretty awesome.
i have problem whit battery lose 25% when i sleep
This is a usual day with s6 edge plus
Any help?

i have this problem battery ... if u fixed it tell me how?
Well I was expecting Google Play Services to be eating your battery (which is quite common) but it looks like your Andriod OS is eating the most battery. I would uninstall Facebook and use the web version it always helps with the ram and battery furthermore, turn off location if you are not using it and check accounts which are being synced. These are the only tips I can give you as I have never seen Android OS drain so much battery.
Since a few days Google Play Store is eating up my battery: I go to sleep with 100% batt and wake up with 50%, if I check batt stats on top I have play store at 45%, with 5h active a d 2h of CPU.
Follows Android system at 5%.
Going crazy why...

You've charged your phone 4 times during that day. I can't see what's the interesting part here.
Bought this branded exynos s7edge 1 month ago. I founded battery problem since day 1. First i noticed huge standby battery drain, something like 15-20% on 6hours. I have read all threads and post on every forum i found on internet and i tried everything.I made lot of wipe cache, factory reset. I disabled lot of function and bloatware with package disabler. I downloaded better battery stats and also wakelock detector lite.I tried lot of other things that now i can't remember. Now the situation has improved but i think there are other issues. The standby drain is 6-10% over night but whatever I do i can't get more than 4 hours sot. Both on 4g or wifi, gaming or web browsing i get the same amount of sot. And my smartphone is something like a piece of wood, no sync, no push emails, no notifications of 90%apps.
4 hrs sot on 4g is good, but on wifi i think is not. iwith the nexus 5 2300mah battery i could do 3hrs on wifi, 3,30 with low usage.
This s7edge costs 2x and got 50%more battery.
I'm starting to think about a hardware problem.
today i got 21hrs from charge, 4 hrs sot, 30min gaming, 20min instagram 15min whatsapp. no calls. 90% under wifi. spent the whole sot time changing settings, looking at photos and doing virtually nothing.
Unfortunately i can't upload bbs screens.
Did u try flashing other rom with Odin? A stock one offcourse
4hrs sot is completely normal on wifi/4g. Want more sot? Turn your brightness to 10%. There's no problem.
I can't cope with this bad battery life that came with Oreo. I'm not a heavy user and I do have Bluetooth enabled because of my Gear S3 - but at this rate I need to recharge my phone twice a day...
I've already done a restore, removed all unnecessary apps, replaced mail Push to 15min and other changes for a better battery life. But nothing helps.
Do you also have the same issue?
I personally have exrltraordinary battery life 6 H SOT.
Better than nougat

Lucky you, can you tell me more about your usage and settings?
I also have a bad battery life comparing to nugat. On nugat it was around 36h and on Oreo around 20h

Quad hd, allways on during day....
I am having better battery life on Oreo.
yea battery life kinda sucks and i have not hooked up all my apps as yet ..
auto brightness seems to be stable and a bit better but the battery is horrid i left home at 6:20 am with 100% i'm already on 53% with bluetooth audio and whatsapp really.
I did a factory reset after my upgrade.
Battery endurance is better than N.

turn of "mobile data always on" inside Developer Options and see.
Can someone on the internet identify this underlining issue of battery getting exhausted so rapidly. On Nougat it was just fine but after updating to Oreo, battery backup is gotten worse. Whenever I see battery stats Android OS and Android System using absurd amount of battery just below the screen usage time and sometimes either of them is on top in usage.
I have done numerous resets with and without data restore. But nothing changes.
I think have found the problem. Samsung Email, after Oreo this app keep on in background every time (do not look in battery monitor but in applications) . I already try one day without any mail app and the gain is enormous and other one day with other mail app (Gmail) and the gain is also enormous. For last day (tomorow) I try again with Samsung email for confirm the result .
Same problem here but with my S8+. Went from 7h SOT to 4h SOT. I also deleted samsung mail app and replaced it with gmail but even that didn't really fix it.. Other than that Oreo is really good in terms of performance, but I want my old battery life back. Hopefully Samsung will fix this with the next update.
I am really surprised some people have better battery life with Oreo. Maybe it has to do with Snapdragon vs Exynos ? I have an S8+ with Exynos CPU
I had great battery life with Oreo beta 6 but then I "upgraded" to the final version CRAP and my battery life is now a crap!
Currently on my S8Plus(Exynos) I am unable to get a full day of battery backup with moderate usage. SOT usually lies between 2-2.5hrs max in 12hours on battery.
Also I don't have Samsung Mail App. All things stock with limited no. of 3rd party apps likes social media apps, 2-3 shopping apps and also 3 gmail accounts synced.

Hi I went by your suggestion and checked in apps to see which one were consuming the highest battery & my culprits are Bixby Global Action & Bixby Service each consuming 11% each (Please see attached files). I am also attaching usage statistics of today. Both before disabling services and after disabling. (See the time to figure out). Will get a better idea tomorrow.
Suggest everyone to look in to their apps usage and post their findings.
EDIT: I just checked I had used the STOPPED the applications but forgot to disable them. Have disabled them now at 17.45 PM and will update later.

Be careful the percentage of consumption of this app is a is a consumption of many app from "android system "
But it's not worth to disable lot of Bixby
Derp
Battery on Oreo is way better than Nougat. Never had over 4 hours SOT... And I have tons of apps installed. 143 apps to be exact

4-6 SOT is not so good as i expected...
I am a s7 edge user and dont know whats happening to my mobile. Its battery is lasting only 4-5 hours on moderate use .is it ok? Should i replace the battery...
4-5 hours is not so bad. I pull out about 3 to 4 hours on my S7 edge

Check the battery health from this app. Then u can decide.
Hey guys, my s10 plus battery wasnt that great out the box I was averaging 4:30 sot that's with alot of spotify 1 hour of YouTube snapchat all day and all the social apps, I recently changed it to wqhd and not only my screen looks better my battery life is much better I'm now getting 5:30-6 hours of sot it seems like Samsung optimised the display for the battery where on my s9 plus wqhd was draining more battery but it seems to improve battery on s10, just seeing if anyone's had the same experience
Hmmm.. Let me try that. I've only used FHD on my S10 since I got it.

Plus I realised this is a expensive phone with a beautiful display and dont feel like you should be using it at fhd+
What I know is that you have to be patient. The internal AI will adopt to your usage and then improve your battery life. It will take 2 or 3 weeks.

2 or 3 weeks? where did you get this nonsense info? my S10+ (Exynos) had terrible for first 4 days when there was pattern usage learning going on..after that its all perfect...dont tell me that $1000 needs to be used 2 or 3 weeks to get to normal conditions

I have been told this by my friend who works in Samsung Store. I have the phone (S10 Exynos) for 11 days now and it is still not good as my S7 Edge...I have 79% now without much of usage. I took it from the charger at 7:40 or so.

Nope, that was just coincidence. Changing to WQHD+ will not improve battery life. It will reduce battery life by a very tiny amount. You must have had something else happen at the same time.
This is why comparing battry life with others is pointless, because there are just too many variables. As you have found, you can't even compare battery life with yourself without getting onconsistent results.

I changed it back to fhd+ for a day and my battery did seem worse, wqhd gives me much better battery life
No reason it should take weeks to settle in. My first full day on the s10+ was 5.5 hours screen on time and still had 49% left after 16 hours. Currently on 40 hours off charger 7.2hrs sot and 17% left. This battery really is amazing but will always vary between users. Can't see how wqhd could do anything but hurt battery life but I'll run it tomorrow just to see what happens.

Thats insane. 5.5hours sot with almost 50% battery left? Surely you have turned off LOTS of features / adjusted brightness and various settings?
For me to achieve that i would need to use the phone at almost its lowest brightness and disable background activity, turn off auto sync, bluetooth, and pretty much anything else thats a battery drain!

I don't think I have that much disabled. Brightness is on auto and is often pretty bright, power saver is on medium so background data is disabled along with auto sync because I don't need push notifications. I have bixby routines turn on auto sync when charging at night to sync anything that needs it. I use Bluetooth in the car and for headphones at the gym. Probably 6-7 Bluetooth hours on that screenshot. Not much WiFi since I'm never home. Location on. Don't use bixby itself because, well, who does? It's pretty effortless really. Especially compared to my note 8 where it's nearly dead at 5 hours sot.
I'm upped the resolution on my S10 plus from the beginning and getting anywhere from 8-9 hours sot. Way better than the iPhone 10s Max I had! A lot faster too!
With a week so far of using the S10 I've gotten equal battery life with FHD and QHD. About 4.5hrs SOT and 15-19 hours up time.

Ah you have battery saver mode on. It works magic to extend your battery life. It gave me good life on my S9+ when I had it. But my logic is why did I have to have battery saver on to match the battery life that I got on my 1+6 and Pixel 2 XL?

Yeah. I've always used battery saver on every phone I've had. I'm kind of a battery life junky and when battery drains fast or when idling it bothers me. Some reason I got better life in my note 8 without saver on though. Helps on my s10 though and easily outlasts my wife's pixel 2 XL. It really all just depends on the user though. 4.5 sot is still a respectable time in my opinion especially for heavier users and about what I got on my note 8 and had no complaints. Difference now though is that I can use the s10 HEAVILY in one day and it won't die whereas my note 8 would have been dead hours before and would need a boost late in the day.
