Hi folks,
I have been facing battery drain & deep sleep issue on my Nexus 4 which i have reported in my earlier post. After formatting couple of days ago, yesterday i noticed again the deep sleep & battery drain issue. I was totally frustrated & annoyed by the Google's 4.3 update. The above said issue persist only after 4.3 fix (1.8Mb) update, may be most of users facing the issue since then.
Here are few tips i followed to get rid of battery drain & deep sleep issue,
1. Menu - Google settings - location - uncheck location
2. Google settings - Google+ - location sharing - uncheck location sharing
3. Menu - settings - location access - uncheck gps satellite
4.Settings - wifi - advanced - uncheck scanning always available
5. Settings - wifi - advanced - wifi frequency band - select 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz based on router. Don't select Auto as wifi signal fluctuates often.
6. After following the above steps clear the cache, turn off the phone.
7. Wait for the battery to drain to 0
8. Charge the battery to 100% using the normal charger. Dont use any other fast charger, portable or wireless charger, as it ll have impact on battery.
Let me know if the above steps works.
Ps: The above settings are carried out in Stock 4.3 & not rooted.

Pranaam sarkar..
you have to check what app is draining your battery.. and what apps are preventing your phone from going to deep sleep mode.. There is a app called batter battery stats here in the aps section of android that will help you to find detailed battery statictics.. then you can use another app called grenefy to "shut up" the apps causing wakelocks..

The thing is, I kind of resent having to turn so many functions off just for my phone to work correctly. I mean, turning gps off and not being able to use navigation?
I have the android OS bug it seems, its draining as much as the screen is which isnt good.

Whats app is not causing any battery drain for me. The only culprit I have noticed is the Wi-Fi.
Anyways will download & try batter battery stats, shall soon update with post in couple of days. :good:

Yes, it's definitely issue with OS.
The only option available to us is to make some setting and maintain the juice till the next update.
Hi guys
I noticed countless times that randomly when turning on wifi and then turning it off, the "always allow scanning" under advanced options is ticked.
I noticed this because then under battery usage you will see wifi active even tho main switch is off and 99% of the time that is why.
Is it a lollipop 5.0 bug or is it some of my apps that can switch that option when they detect wifi has been activated?
Also, it seems that if i dont turn on wifi in the first place, that option never becomes active. Battery life is very good on my phone so not a deal breaker....
Anyone knows?
Thanks
So I was using PA and now on PN. FK then and now EX kernel.
I still have the same problem. The Wifi is ALWAYS ON even after I turned it off or after I placed it on airplane mode.
Now before you all say turn off Wifi Scanning, Bluetooth scanning and keeping WiFi on or off.
Like in Pictures:
-Bluetooth and Wifi Scanning is off
-Keep Wifi ON during sleep only when plugged in
The only way I can turn it off is to restart my phone or reconnect to a network and disconnect.
I notice if I exit the house and turn off Wifi some time later the WiFi will be off but seen in detail battery stats and stays that way till I connect to another network and disconnect properly, Or I leave & turn off the Wifi properly before I exit the Wifi range.
WHAT IS THIS PROBLEM?
It''s kinda that I need to always do this. If I forget and I have a large bar of WiFi and need a restart. -_-
I have average battery life 4hours SOT and get 12hours of Battery life. Clean flashed PN but flashed a back up of my Apps from Titanium.
Thanks guys in advance!!
Hope someone can give me a solution for this!
Have a nice one!:good:
Hey guys, I am having some problems with my battery on cm13, it's good when I am using the phone but standby time is just horrible, in 15mins i lose about 3-4%. Does anyone else have this problem, and do you know how to fix it?
First try and update to the newest cm13 nightly
Also look at battery in setting menu and see what uses your battery the most
Also turning off features such as wifi Bluetooth nfc and data connection and turn off wifi and Bluetooth scanning and location except when you need them
If you have a weak 4g cellular signal you may
Need to switch to 3g in network settings some custom kernels have atrocious battery life also sorry to throw a book at you but the all that apply to you
Turn off sync also helps a lot
Turn on efficiency or power saving in battery settings also helps
Then turn on simulate color space monochrome in developer options
Turn off ok Google also
Also turn off usb debugging when your not using it

Edit:
Found a fix here:

Seems like GSAM was just incorrectly reporting it
Using GSam Battery Monitor and "Wifi Active" is always over 30% of my battery use. The phone lasts all day just fine, but the Wifi active is extremely high. I've searched multiple threads and done all the "fixes" of clearing cache in recovery, resetting network settings, disable wifi/bluetooth scanning etc. and it's still over 30%.
My most recent test, I have Wifi turned off COMPLETELY. Right now, it shows "Wifi Active: 00:00:00 31%" I have a feeling Android is simply reporting the wrong stats.
Has anyone figured out if there is in fact a fix for this? Or can confirm it is Marshmallow that's incorrectly reporting this?
