Hi All,
On the Chinese huawei forum there is a closed thread about the B352 update for the PLK-AL10 version. There users can give feedback about the update and report problems. In this thread I hope we can create the same only than in English.
one thing that I needed to do before I could download the update was to use a Chinese proxy address. With that as proxy I was able to download the B352 firmware update within HiSuite.
PROBLEMS
- Google sync calcander freezes after a while
- Google sync contact freezes after a while
- overall notification issue is still there
When I find solutions or new problems I will update the post.
I would try this b352 for PLK-AL10, but I don't find it.

Golden tip; setting a CN proxy! Superb.
Works instantly on the phone. After modifying the Wi-Fi connection with the proxy params, now B352 is coming thru... #goMM

Is it also that you're experiencing an issue within the 'Huawei Contacts' app, which endlessly keeps stating 'Contact List Being Updated' and not showing any of the contacts (though HiSuite shows them). It also makes the Dailer unusable?
I've tried the following, all without success:
- This walkthrough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64711505&postcount=5
- Cache partition wipe
- Deleted apps, caches, data and account:
-- removing google play store, calender sync and contacts sync. Cleaned out with Phone Manager. Deleted full Google account. Cleaned cache & data from Huawei Contacts. Re-installed all g.apps again from Hi-App and set-up a fresh Google account.
- Installed an earlier version of GoogleContactsSyncAdapter.
Considering to do factory data reset and stop my trail&error path, and to get it solved.
Or do you have any hints, tricks or tips?

Hi dansk78,
No I have no issue with the Huawei Contact app.
I have still the Google sync issue and also try the above steps. no luck.
Also the notification issue with push messages is still there
To all!
I have also done a rollback to B201 with success :good:
1. Download B201 from http://www.needrom.com/download/honor-7-plk-al10/
2. Connect Phone with HiSuite
3. flash B201 Rom with HiSuite
Did a 'factory data reset' on B352, and restored up to 80%+ of apps and settings etc. through a foregoing backup. That backup I've.made on the B352 ROM, with corrupted Huawei Contacts app 'in' it. A bit risky, but now all is running smoothly!
The B352 ROM release now also has the proper fingerprint drivers integrated, so LastPass l allows for fingerprint login. Also the Accessibility option for LP is finally correctly being triggered at boot (set to: ON).
All in all I'm rather satisfied.

How is your google sync working? specially the contact and calendar sync?
Do you also still experience notification issues with push messages like whatsapp, facebook, instagram, messenger ?
Confirmed, both G.sync adapters are functional without compromises.
After a factory data reset on b352 and restoring the backup based on b352, installing g.Play, plus the 2 adapter APK's thru HiApp. Remind to review and set permissions for all involved surrounding apps.

Hi all,
I'm running now B352 some days now and noticed still some notification issues. It seems like it has something to do with the data connection between WiFi and 4G.
an example is with outlook app and the calendar.
on 10.30 am I have a appointment and the notification should be at 10.15 am. at 10.15 am NO notification.
at 10.43 am I switch on the screen and *pop* there comes the notification that I should had on 10.15 am
Sometimes the same issue when I switch from WiFi tot 4G or back, the switch of data connection seems to trigger the sync and/or notifications and then pops in.
I have the apps like whatsapp and outlook in the lock state.
I have given the apps all the permissions that is needed to stay awake.
I have turned on keep WiFi and 4G data on in sleep mode.
Hi all, would be nice to have some downoad link to B352 release. if that´s the latest.

Why?
Just install HiSuite for Windows, configure the proxy settings in there, so your routed through Chinese proxy and thus CN IP addresses, connect smartphone via USB and 'check for ROM updates', download it and finally apply het.
From the DLOAD folder HiSuite you can probably retrieve the large UPDATE.APP, should there be a need for...

when I press system updates under settings the popup to install now or install later shows up.
I read somewhere that you can do it by going to settings - application manager - all - Google services framework and hitting disable, and you won't see it again until you reactivate.
Hope it works.

Same problem here.
Flashed KK firmware, everything fast, good, great.
I have disabled the OTA checkbox as soon as I could.
But the OTA still popped up, and it says it's now downloaded.
How could I fix this?
I don't want LP until it's fixed.
(Non rooted, ofc.)

So I tried the following, WITHOUT LUCK:
- Install sim card, launch phone, DO NOT connect to wifi, disable update box.
Once wifi is on, it will download.
- Launch phone without SIM card, NO wifi, and disable box.
Well, guess what? It will just download once I add a wifi connection.
It looks like the phone will just do this at the first start.
But where is the update file? I seriously want to keep KitKat.
Let me know if anyone got an idea.
Hi,
I have the same problem, do you have found a solution ?
Thank you.
I think there is only one way to do this. You have to factory reset your device and during setup, where it asks you to sign in to your google accounts and connect to your samsung account, don't connect your samsung account.
I think that this is what notifies you about the OTA updates.
PS: I just remembered! Maybe you don't have to factory reset! You could try removing your Samsung account from your device's settings. Never tried it though so not sure if this will work (because when signing in you also agree to a user agreement, don't know if that has anything to do with it - you know the things nobody reads about but always agrees).
Pros:
No OTA updates.
Cons:
No backup and restore for your contacts, sms, emails, wallpapers, phone logs, priority senders (email addresses), spam addresses (email), spam filter (messages) and call rejection list.
No updates for ANY Samsung app or service including but not limited to S Voice, S Translator, etc.
Its really up to you, if you can find apps that could replace those services and stay with the previous versions of Samsung's apps (or find replacements for those too), then I don't see a reason why not to skip Samsung's Account Login.

I have posted a tutorial, an entire thread with steps detailed.
You CAN disable the OTA notification permanently, you do NOT need root. Just read my thread.

PS.: @nicolas: That will still update your system. Read the tutorial.
Thank you for the tutorial, so I must wipe my phone to use your tuto ?
I've seen the comment to disable Software update but I have only one Software update and I can't disable it.

1) Yes, you have to wipe.
2) You can use "Super Backup" from Play Store to backup just about everything important. (For the rest, just copy every file/folder from phone.)
3) Contacting samsung... well, good luck with that!

Yes, you have to remove the sim card if it supports data connection (mobile data).
Ps.: I have also contacted Samsung to downgrade my S3 when it received the 4.4 update which made it lag.
They tripped knox first (lol), took in my phone to replace motherboard, then when I got it back, it had 4.4 again and they said "downgrade is not supported".
10/10.
good job Samsung
So I've reinit my phone with SIM inside (just to try), when selecting operator window appears I close it, I don't connect to Wifi, I don't add Google or Samsung account and when possible I disable mobile data. I uncheck auto update and OTA notification has not appear since reinit
Perhaps the problem is solved, I'm watching it
Oh sh** OTA is back
Edit : Do you have a Samsung account ? It seems OTA is back since I've added my Samsung account...

DOOMKING... YOU'RE BACK
Never used it. I take backups with twrp
Of course I am back, this is the best forum I know and I follow it regularly at least for last three months. I made a backup with TWRP too but I also used HiSuite in the past since contacts can get messed up by Google contacts and/or Outlook and further I want to have a second backup on my computer just in case my SD gets messed. Anyway HiSuite worked OK until I updated to the last version, so I was curious if it is because of that or because of Su or something unrelated.

first go to settings
then ->permission manager -> apps

Note i disabled usb debugging
Doesn't work. Can you point me to how to find permission manager. Even if I switch to English I cant find it. HiSuite to use hdb is allowed. It works I can see contacts, media, apps. Just can't make a backup. Another question, why is my keyboard (I use Swiftkey) always switching to Huawei's after each reboot ?

No, Swiftkey is installed in internal memory.
I reinstalled an older version of HiSuite and same thing happened even if it worked before I rooted the phone. I can connect the phone contacts, photos and apps are there; just when I want to backup - no go. It must be something connected to permissions but I am banging my head what... (ouch )

Your permissions are not properly set up. under phone manager you should see permission manager. try to give the apps you're having problems with full acces.

select permission manger -> apps -> find the app -> select trust this app. that should do it
you also can select permission manger -> rights -> app auto-launch ->select the app you want

The only version of Hisuite, that the backup works is version 2.3.55. That is strange - so it's not permissions on my phone but something with the program. In the meantime i moved to Sokkoban's latest rom for dual sim eu P8 lite, so i thought that then maybe Hisuite would work, but no except the old one that I mentioned. Confused - yes.

I looked for solution for the same problem. Some time ago i use to use HiSuite and it worked, Now don't. When I red your post i poked into Internet and found this:
Huawei » Hisuite » 2.3.35 : Security Vulnerabilities Published In 2016

So probably problem lays INSIDE HiSuite.
EDIT\\ Problem lays in Huawei Backup. It needs to be upgraded to newest version. I had installed HB already, but HS do not want to work with it. Cannot upgrade from Play Store because it sayas so I have installed newest vesrsion. When I unininstalled HB from my phone, Play Store says, so my phone is incompatible!! Huawei phoner!! I found newest HB on APKMIrror and after installing it all went good - HiSuite works lakie it should and makes backup from PC.
Try ia USB storage device
HiSuite kept giving me the "insufficient space on your device" message... So instead I tried using a USB storage device and it worked fine. Basically a USB pen with the micro connector so that you can plug it to your phone. Hope this tip helps!
I faced the same issues. You need I think 10% (capacity or backup-volume)free storage on device and/or 10GB free storage. After cleaning up a little bit, it worked.
Hey folks I have the same problem

But if I try to backup my data it comes always unable to getting data

So I bought a used P9 Lite, and i tested it before with the guy that was selling it and it seemed to be OK. However, when i got home i did a factory reset on ti and stared configuring it.
Everything is working fine apart from the google account. I cant add my account no matter how I try:
- If I open Play Store, it closes suddenly and without any error.
- If I go to settings -> accounts -> add -> google, it gos back to the previos screen (Accounts)
- If I open gmail -> add -> google - nothing happens (but if I click exchange or other, i can add)
Note: If I disable internet connection playstore/gmail/etc doesn't close, but it shows the network error

khajiit, tks for you assitance. Is there a way of doing that without voiding the warranty?
the firmware part I flashed it many times, but the other part it requires unlocked bootloader+root+twrp = waranty void
btw the latest fw I used is VNS-L31C432B161 but the phone shows VNS-L31C900B161 (c900 instead of C432)
You have to flash proper oeminfo (unlock your bootloader using the official method or dc-unlock) to add your google account, there is sadly no other solution.
cheers

I have the same problam. Help
I had same problem.I go to apps and force stop Google play stroe and Clear data. Also i do same to Google Services and fix my problem every time.I hope Nubia fix this with update
I am also having problems with Play Store and Google account synchronization - it worked fine for a few days, but then Play Store stopped downloading/updating any apps (it is stuck on Downloading, but doesn't start to download anything) and synchronization to my Google Account doesn't work.
I tried various methods, like rebooting, removing data&cache of Play Store+Google Play Services+Download manager, uninstalling/reinstalling Play Store & Google Play services, removing/re-adding my Google account, wiping cache+dalvik from TWRP, but nothing helped. Then I realized that when I kill SwiftKey process, it started to work instantly. It seems that SwiftKey is blocking Google services mainly when I have synchronization to Google Account enabled. Then I noticed the same problem with Google Contacts app.
I suspect that it may be one of Nubia system apps what is causing these problems.
What I found is some text in a Russian forum, translated using google translator, it can be worth of trying to disable that app cloning service:
For what it's needed: firstly , for those who do not use cloning, this is an unnecessary functionality; secondly , this chip conflicts with Google's synchronization (for example, with the G-board keyboard) and in general with all Google services. Who does not care about all this, you can not read further.
What you need: TWRP or root-access, PC and ADB
1. Delete CMVirtualbox.apk (located on the system / priv-app / CMVirtualBox path ) or just rename / delete the .apk extension to ease the rollback.
2. Connect the phone to the PC, run the command line (all the necessary drivers must be installed, debugging by USB is enabled, the start is made from the ADB folder), we write the command:
adb shell pm remove-user 10
and press enter. After success, reboot for persuasiveness.
As a result, cloning will be disabled, G-board keyboard messages "Synchronization on devices with G-Suite account or Android for work profile is not supported" will not appear any more and Google services will work more adequately. Successful to you of samples!
PS For rollback just return CMVirtualbox.apk , reboot, and everything returns to normal.

For me, the problem was resolved by uninstalling SwiftKey. For some reason, it blocks Google services and just stoping it's process or hibernating it using Greenify solves the problem immediately. Maybe it would help also to use sync with Microsoft account instead of Google in SwiftKey settings. I saw a similar issue also with Google Contacts app (Nubia Contacts works fine).
Since switching to Gboard, problem didn't appear again and Google Play and sync works without any issues.

You are welcome Although not rooting it would be pity...With root it is easier to get the phone into more useable state, like background apps not getting killed to get notifications on new messages properly etc. It helps to turn a few apps into system apps and/or add them in ProcessManager database as protected apps.

I think there is no detailed step-by-step guide, but you can gather information from threads about this phone. You mainly need to have ADB drivers, unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and from it flash Magisk.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76842677&postcount=26 (you can just skip flashing boot.img and files init.qcom.post_boot.sh and .thermal-mode-01-01.conf, just flash magisk ZIP instead)

LATEST UPDATE: Now I'm stuck in the "Nubia...Powered by Android" start screen. This happened after I tried to install v1.05. This opened the TWRP screen in Chinese. I selected the bottom-right button and then again the bottom-right and chose English and then rebooted.
I can still get into twrp mode by long pressing the volume down + power keys.
What steps do I need to take to make the phone boot properly again?
-----
-- I posted this section below earlier before I had this boot problem
--
I finally found the time (and the courage) to try this out.
SuperSu was installed so hopefully I didn't miss anything. Does it mean that the device is rooted?
I can successfully get into su mode with a terminal app.
Also, I have two root checker apps. One is showing that the device is rooted, and the other shows that it's not.
All my apps and settings remained as they were.
IS THIS OK? I expected that the process will wipe all the data.
I didn't flash majisk. IS IT NEEDED IF THE DEVICE IS ALREADY ROOTED?
And lastly, I still can't download from the play store
Any suggestions on that issue?
Thank you so much

How did you install v1.05? You need to do it from emergency recovery using OTG cable/adapter, not from TWRP.
If you went from LineageOS to stock, you need to wipe data from emergency recovery, because the storage is encrypted.

I tried to install v1.05 from the settings->System Update->Local Update menu (http://blog.geekbuying.com/2018/03/official-global-versionzte-nubia-z17-lite-snapdragon-653-android-7-1-smartphone-firmware-20180316/).
Before that I had the global stock version 1.04.
What can I do now?

1. You can try wiping data & cache partitions.
2. Use that emergency recovery and flash zip over OTG from there again.

Thank you,
I already tried that.
The problem is that in emergency recovery mode the thumb drive that is connected with OTG cable is not recognized.
In TWRP I can mount that drive, but in emergency recovery mode its not mounted.
UPDATE: I tried different USB drives. One of them mounted. I found that this one was formatted in FAT. Since this is a small 2Gb drive that cannot hold the ROM, I found another drive that was formatted in ExFAT that also loaded correctly.
I loaded the ROM as suggested and now the phone is working again.
My guess is that the phone can't read NTFS file format in emergency recovery mode.
Thank you!!!

Yes, NTFS is not supported very well on Android. Use just FAT32, that should work fine. ExFAT also works only somewhere....

I renamed the CMVirtualBox.apk and also its folder, removed user10 and restarted, but that didn't help.
What did you use to kill the SwiftKey process? It's not installed as an app on my phone.
Thank you

In that case you probably don't have SwiftKey installed - it is not installed by default But if Play Store doesn't download and Google account sync doesn't work for you, it may be some different app causing the deadlock. You should go thru all apps and force closing them one by one...when you kill the problematic process, Play Store will start downloading immediately. You can do it from Settings - Apps, or use some app for that.
I really appreciate your help.
I forcefully disabled all apps but the problem remained.
Hi
I have Axon 7, A2017 (Chinese) with Android 8.0.0 software (ZTE_A2017V3.0.0B11). On the previous version 7.1.1 the problem also occurred. On the Marshmallow version (the first software from the news) everything was fine.
The problem is that some applications such as Google Chrome, Google Maps, Google Dev, Google Canary, Maps Go (uses Google maps) and a few others; SOMETIMES they hang on startup (usually the splashscreen). In the case of Google Maps sometimes hangs immediately after the start (when showing the map). After a temporary suspension, I receive a dialog that the application is not responding - I can close it, wait or send feedback to Google.
This problem does not occur every time. I do not know what it depends on, but sometimes these applications start and work normally. Unfortunately, most often they do not work when I need them most ...
I would like to add that if any of these applications has such a problem, each of the others listed will behave the same - no response. However, if this problem does not occur (the application worked), the others will also start correctly and I will be able to use them until Android does not kill their process.
Does any of you have a similar problem?
------------------------------------------------
To get rid of this bothersome problem, I tried to restore the phone to the factory settings and after the reset do not change anything in the phone / application settings. Did not help.
Next, I tried to downgrade to the previous version of the system (7.1.1) using the official EDL packages provided by ZTE., from: zte.com.cn/china/sitecore/content/device/home/support/detail?id=B4C0ACE418834F588FED0C72D6046C78, package ZTE_A2017V1.0.0B15. On this version (7.1.1) there is the same problem, with the difference that the applications are jamming at startup, with white background (I see splashscreen on Oreo).
Since I remembered that everything worked well on Marshllow, I decided to do a downgrade version 6.0.0 (also from official sources, package: ZTE_A2017V1.0.0B15). Unfortunately, this version of the system from the official source does not work properly for me! Firstly, the phone does not search SIM cards at all. Secondly, WiFi can not be activated on the phone. Third - i can not enable USB debugging! (ie, debugging itself can be enabled, whereas after connecting the phone to a PC, there is no dialog window on the phone with the option of accepting a PC fingerprint). I had to use an SD card to update the system.
Does anyone of you also had a problem with this compile version after roolback?
Regards,
Xerphis

I only experienced that with the chinese oreo betas. Every google app wouldn't start, only a white screen.
Does not happen for me on stock 7.1.1, AOSP or with GSIs.
Unfortunately, until then I could not find a solution to this problem.
Therefore, I am asking you to make an EDL backup (without user data of course). Can any of you make such a copy of your software for A2017?

Sent you a PM with B15 EDL backup.
Read my PM and please make a backup before flashing it.

I also have an Axon 7 chinese (A2017) whit Nougat 7.1.1. (A2017V2.0.0B13)
I have the same problem as Xherpis, exactly the same.
I did the same as Xerphis, I restored the phone to the factory settings, but I still have the same problem.
Could you send me the B15 EDL Backup ?.
If it did not work, I would have to change my phone, because there are many applications that do not work.
Regards.
There is a fix posted on the Edl Oreo page
This link explains how to fix this issue.

Initially, uploading backup did not help me. At the beginning, the applications behaved the same.
It helped to install the Google Services Framework version 8.0.0.-4147944.
I will add that the installation of this framework on the previous system image did not help - but you can try this first..
Hi Xerphis,
What is the final solution then? i am also facing the same issue . i am on A2017 7.1.1 B13 . modem is pretty stable but not the apps which dependent on google. Chrome, maps, paytm etc..
Thanks and regards,

For me, installing every google apk fixed the issue. I was using B15, though.
You could try the yalp app?
The yalp app was good on a custom ROM I was testing.
This is an alternative to the google play store, however its usually the google play services that cause the crashes, etc
I'm running the B15 Oreo update, the apps are no problem on this, the earlier version before B13 was bad for apps force closing, crashing etc.
Had the same issue, found it to be the google play services, somthing on the last update really f%^&ed things up,
1. force stop
2. clear cache
3. clear all data
4. press 3 dots > uninstall updates
5. let it run... it will start acting strange for 1-2 min that will update the google services again and your good to go.
After installing the backup from @bornlivedie and installing Google Framework Services v8.0.0.-4147944, everything worked well.
Unfortunately, there is a network problem. Namely, I spend a lot of time in the place where the 4G network is starting (the network switches between 3G and 4G continuously), so it increased the battery usage. So in the settings I've always turned on by default 2G / 3G for both cards. Currently, changing these settings - even forcing the 2G network will not change the network mode, and all the time in the top bar I see 3G and 4G.
So I thought that I would return to the stock ROM to see if the problem would disappear. Unfortunately, even after returning to the stock ROM, the problem still exists. Anybody knows what's going on?
@kaplaey2 WOW it's work! It actually helped me. At least for now - I hope it is not a coincidence. I would like to add that the manual installation of the latest version of "Google services" did not help. It really helped uninstalling the update from the application settings. After this, we will receive push notifications to install updates from the play store.
My app was not working
