Hey guys, first time post here so apologies if this isn't formatted in a specific way which is the norm here.
I'm having an issue with my S7 running 6.0.1 and build number MMB29M.G930AUCS2APC2 being able to cast to my Chromecast2. I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps I can think of and have not been able to duplicate this issue on any of my other android devices (Nexus tablet, S6 Edge, Chrome browser casting). The issue being that when I attempt to connect my phone through netflix/plex/hulu/youtube (any integrated casting app) the Icon will change to the connecting state but will never establish a connection allowing me to play the selected media. As mentioned above I've been unable to reproduce this issue on any of my other devices and am thinking it's isolated to either the phone or 6.0.1 (S6 Edge is on 5.1.1). Anyone else having these issues?
The only way i've been able to resolve this issue is to factory reset my Chromecast2 and set it back up on the network, at which point the S7 is able to cast to that TV.

Hello guys, my girlfriend's s4, new since end of November just recently started having wifi issues. It's on android 4.3.3, most recent.
The issues happens on any type of wifi, even off of my wifi from my Xperia z1.
The issue is a pop up in her notification that the wifi is unstable. And when this does pop up the browsing or any related Internet use is affected.
We reset the phone completely and even disabled the wifi power saving option.
Any idea how to fix this?
Hello, I have an unlocked Samsung galaxy s7 edge (SM-G935U) using the Verizon network. This issue started after the most recent security update (Android Security Patch Level August 1, 2016) could maybe be a coincidence though, so when I make a call with a Bluetooth device connected I don’t lose LTE connection. When I make a call with a Bluetooth device connected and running a data app like google maps or Pokemon go I will lose LTE completely (the LTE symbol will disappear). until the phone call is over and any calls after this happens. I have tired unpairing and pairing it, I have tried different Bluetooth devices. I can make normal calls without a Bluetooth device and its fine, so it’s not a network issue. When I contacted Samsung tech support , They had me clear all Bluetooth data, reset app preferences, wiped the cache from the recovery menu, and formatted the phone. Samsung at one point told me I can't use data while on the phone Bluetooth or not (what is this 2010? and I don't have AT&T). I tested that and the phone allows me to use data fine while on the phone.
Samsung wants to replace the phone but I think that isn't going to help. Anyone else experiencing this issue? or any ideas what I can do to fix it?
I have to admit I am a bit out of element here (with Samsung devices), but I am kind of at a loss on where to go for help with this so I thought I would throw this out there...
I have a customer that uses a proprietary app that includes an industry standard SIP softphone client, we have hundreds of these deployed and working fine, with the exception of bone stock Verizon branded Samsung Galaxy S7 (and Edge) devices but only when on WiFi networks, on mobile data it works fine.
EDIT: We discovered the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is exhibiting the same behavior as well.
The client software (Mitel MiCollab for Mobile) installs and works normally when on mobile data, but the SIP softphone cannot register to the SIP server on any WiFi network. Take the exact same app and settings to any other device we have tried and it works fine. It is as if when connected to WiFi, something built into the device is blocking the ports used by the SIP phone, we have actually taken one and factory defaulted it, setup email and the client software without installing anything else and it still fails, so it isn't an app that is added by the user that is causing a problem. Other Samsung devices like the S6 and J7 devices work fine, so it is something specific to the S7 & Note 5 series.
Anyone have any ideas here? I have limited access to the device, just figured enthusiasts like XDA users might have some insight into the device.
Recently decided to downsize from my AT&T Galaxy S8 Plus. I bought a factory unlocked Galaxy S8 but am having issues with the Bluetooth.
I watch alot of YouTube videos and if there is too much idle time between videos the connection will drop out. Usually reconnects about 30 seconds after starting the next video.
My previous S8 Plus that was an AT&T phone never gave me any issues. Anyone else run into anything like this? This is using the same stereo as my previous phone was.
Hello,
I posted a similar question in the General Android forums as well in case it was an Android issue. This occurred on two different S7s as well with two variants T-Mobile and Verizon versions. Got my new S10+ and it connected fine after Samsung Switch copied everything from my old S7. After the first security update which was the March 2019 version it started to exhibit the same problems that my S7s had where it would not connect to our home network nor show in the list of networks to connect to. Only time it would show is when already connected to a different network that (xfinifywifi in this case). My home network is a nonbroadcasting network and would be the only difference. This was never a problem before the updates. A new May update just rolled out but it did not fix this problem. Has anyone else run into this issue?
Thanks,
Jay
