Hi
Does a hard reset re-activate the region lock? I plan to buy the phone for someone working abroad. I will be buying the phone in India will use it for 10 to 12 mins to remove the region lock and then hard reset to gift it to some one else who is working in the UAE. Just wanted to know if the hard reset will reactivate the Region Lock. Cause if that happens then once the phone is in the UAE there wont be a Indian SIM.

Hi there
I'm going to sale my X1, so I unlocked it (SFR brand locked) using sim-unlocker.com, and then performed a hard reset to erase my personal informations. Is it still unlocked or the hard reset puts it back to brand-locked? I don't have an other brand SIM to test.
Thank you
in my opinion it doesnt remove unlock... because when u change firmware lock would be present so i guess it does work other way around also but cant confirm 100% since i didnt do it myself
I re-unlocked it to be sure.
Thanks anyway
S7 Edge permanently locked to AT&T network (Too many network unlock code attempts)
Hello all!
I've moved to Korea with my fully purchased AT&T S7 Edge (SM-G935A) from the U.S. I went to a local authorized phone service shop in Korea and purchased and linked an SK Telecom Nano USIM 3GB data sim card to my phone and then entered in too many unsuccessful network unlock code attemps. I wasn't aware that if too many failed attempts are entered, that the phone would lock permanently to AT&T network :/.
I then contacted AT&T and got the official authorized network unlock code, but that isn't working. Neither did the unfreeze code I purchased from an unlocking site. I then found the XDA forum and successfully flashed my phone to G-935U (http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/how-to/updated-935u-935a-live-links-pi3-t3501686). After inserting the prepaid Sim card, I'm still receiving the network unlock code screen where the AT&T network unlock code, unfreeze code, and codes on Sim card packaging are not working.
Can anyone advise any solutions? Is there a way to reset or get around the hardlock / permanently AT&T network lock?
Thank you,

I have had hard locked phones before, here's how you can get it fixed. If its still under warranty, and if you can get it to samsung usa, tell them your phone is stuck due to a bad update. They will reflash your phone, and when they do this, with their methods, it restores the modem firmware and the original sim's lock(no more hard lock). & they will reprogram your imei and serial. So your unlock codes will work now.

so recently I bought an unlocked galaxy J3 without a contract. I used different carriers before going on a trip to another country. the phone did not work there and said network locked. I thought it might be country locked but when I came and inserted my original sim which was working before it still displays the same message. i tried factory resetting it without any luck
Hi there,
I'm going to go to a trip and I have to change my simcard with an another operator, I have seen that the first time I inserted my simcard on this phone it asked me to hard reset, will it do that again if I swap it?
How can I avoid it?
Thanks in advance.
Hi there
I have a factory unlocked Samsung S8 (never been locked to any network) that I took on holiday to the US recently and got a T-Mobile simcard for a few weeks. With the simcard in T-Mobile software and a T-mobile startup and shutdown animations were added to the phone.
I'm now back in the UK using my UK simcard but the T-mobile branding still remains. Does anyone have any idea how to remove this?
The CSC appears to be set to TMB. All the guides I have read about changing the CSC talk about either rooting/flashing the phone, or factory resetting the phone. But this does not seem right as it was changed to TMB without either of these taking place. So surely there is a way to change it back as easily?
(CSC change via #272# or #24320855# does not work).
Any idea how to change this easily?
Thanks
