Xposed framework not working and causing bootloops - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I might be doing this wrong but I have flashed xposed before to a couple of devices.Has the procedure changed on the X Play?I installed the installer ,the latest one,no problems. The problems start when I flash the framework.Frameworks for arm ver.21 and 22 dont flash and give an error , ver.23 sends my phone into a bootloop for a few minutes and then tries to boot past the animations but then just hangs. How did you guys mangae to install xposed? Please tell me which combination works becuase Ive been searching for 2 hours now and none of what Ive found works.
Im running Android 6.0 rooted on Squids TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery.

First flash the latest version of recovery. Then flash the latest version of xposed zip.
Maybe the older version of recovery is creating problems.
Though do note it that after flashing xposed, the phone will take some 10 to 15 minutes to boot up... Maybe more.

Hi
So I flashed TWRP 3.0.0r2 from Squid and flashed SDK ver.23 arm.My phone bootlooped for a while and I eventualy got to the motorola boot logo. Now its just at bootlogo you kinow the shimmerimh blue moto ball. Its been like this for 20+minutes.What now?Do I wait or do I restore from backup?

ok after half an hour of the phone being stuck at the boot animation I called it and restored from a backup.I guess im not getting exposed

I bought my phone 2 weeks ago and got OTA to 6.0.1 right away, so I have no idea what does or doesn't work in 6.0
I had bootloop issues with TWRP 3.0.0, so i wen't down to 2.8.7
See my signature for the combination that worked for me.

After remaining on that blue logo for 10 or 15 minutes, hard reboot by keeping the power button pressed down until it shuts off. It will then restart again and eventually you phone would come to life again.

Would exposed be installed if I hard reset like this? I booted to recovery and restored from a backup when my phone was stuck earlier.

Nope.
Install xposed installer apk.
Flash the xposed latest zip.
Reboot.
If it gets stuck on logo for about 5 minutes, keep the power button pressed until the device again restarts.
I have done this numerous times and my device then booted normally.
And one more thing. After I flashed the xposed zip, my device started and got stuck on optimising apps for about 20 to 25 minutes.

Jeez that's rough. I can understand how a noob can panick when installing exposed on this phone. Is the process simpler on 6.0.1?

Nope same process. Even I get panicked but not because my phone isn't getting on but because most of times I don't do a backup and have to start from scratch.
Always remember to make a backup before trying anything. ?
The steps are not that tough though. Do read a lot of posts from different users before trying something to get an idea what can go bad. It will help a lot as you would have already got an idea then.
Happy flashing. ?

Are you by any chance ignoring that TWRP asks you to install SU for you when you reboot from Recovery? If you are swiping and allowing TWRP to install SU, it causes bootloop. Atleast that's what I faced

Wonder what went wrong

I dont realy know. I've flashed Xposed on my Nexus 7 and Moto G 2014 both without problems. On the X play I had 10 minutes of bootloop and I had to hard reset my phone to break it out of the loop. After Hard reseting my phone booted normal and I had Xposed.
Since then Xposed has had updated releases but I don't want to chance it so I'm leaving it as is with the sdk v82.

The latest xposed version is v85 sdk 23. Use that. Sdk 23 is for 6.0 , Sdk 22 is for 5.1 and Sdk 21 is for 5.0
I have flashed xposed on DU and didn't had any reboot. Be sure as to which modules you use. As always, MAKE A BACKUP AND THEN TRY.

[Q] Help! Can't boot past LG logo

I rooted my G2, installed TWRP 2.6.3.1, then tried installing CleanROM 1.0 but it froze during installation, so I held down the power button to reboot and now it won't boot past the LG logo. I tried a bunch of button combinations to see if I could get back into TWRP recovery but I couldn't get it to work. All I could do is get into firmware update mode, which I don't know how to use. Can anyone help me out? :crying:

You can go into download mode by pressing Volume UP and connecting USB to the computer. Then you can restore the stock from there. There is a post on restoring stock, follow that

Just an FYI, I prolly did not freeze during install...
As I noted in my OP it takes a LONG time to decompress 1.5Gigs of RAM.
These roms take a long time to flash, a very long time for some. Let it flash in recovery. Do what others are doing if you need to even if it seems excessive, take a shower or something leave your phone for a while just let it work its course.
UPDATE: I gave up and restored a backup. I'm wondering if the issue is because I didn't wipe System
Hello everyone,
I'm also stuck at the LG logo. I wiped data, cache, and dalvick in recovery. I installed the ROM. Neither of these steps took a very long time. When I went to reboot, it stated that I was rooted and asked whether I wanted to install SuperSU. Since the ROM description stated that SuperSU was included in the ROM, I said no. After rebooting, I have been stuck at the LG logo for over 15 minutes.
Is it supposed to take a long time during the actual install, or at the LG logo? Should I wait it out or work on my backup plan?
Thanks for the help. I'm very excited about CleanROM.

D802 stuck in LG Logo + blinking LED

Hello there!
I wanted to try KitKat on my rooted stock JB G2, so I downloaded a modified 20D ROM and installed it on my device. However, I've been having problems: phone randomly rebooting, accelerometer not working since yesterday (a reboot or Dalvik wipe wouldn't fix it)... so I decided to start clean.
I went to TWRP and did a full wipe. I checked every box and wiped. My intention was to restart the phone, copying a ROM, going back to recovery and installing the ROM.
However, the phone won't boot. It gets stuck at the LG logo with a blinking LED (green/blue).
I can get to TWRP and to download mode, but haven't been able to go back to the system itself.
I've read about TOTs, kdzs, flashtools... But I don't have a clear idea of what should I do.
Could anybody give me a hint? Maybe saying "Follow this tutorial, but using this file instead", or something like that.
My main concern was that the phone could run out of battery, but I've checked that while in TWRP it's charging.
Thanks in advance.
Did the ROM zip flash completely? You could try installing a 4.4 kernel (like Dorimanx's) and also the kk baseband

Android 6.0 for Nexus 7(2013) is live! [Root available], [Flashable zips]

EDIT: Flashable zips from AndroidPolice (just flash from recovery) ----> http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/1...gs-android-6-0-marshmallow-nexus-ota-roundup/
Steps:
1) Backup apps and data
2) Make an Nandroid backup
3) Factory Reset (optional but recommended)
4) Download and install Android 6.0 factory image through adb https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en
5) Flash latest TWRP 2.8.7.0 recovery
6) Flash ElementalX kernel 5.0 for Marshmallow or stock rootable kernel from @zaclimon through TWRP http://elementalx.org/devices/nexus-7-2013/ or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63158038&postcount=210
7) Flash latest supersu 2.46 zip https://download.chainfire.eu/696/SuperSU
8) Reboot
Hope that someone creates a zip to flash...
My USB port is not reliable, and i'm kind of lazy.
Booting now... I'll report when it boots
Edit: First boot takes even longer than lollipop :/ (~10 minutes)
Just finished flashing the factory image. Waiting for it to boot also.

I waited about 8 mins. but nothing happend! No "optimising apps/system" message, so I wiped again....
Is that normal?
It booted !!! took what it felt like about 10-15 minutes (wasn't watching the clock, only my Flo's screen). Runing the Setup Wizzard now.
Feels snappy. I will be entertained for the next couple of hours

I hope someone is already working on a custom kernel to support root lol
takes a long time to bootup first then its ok...all animationa re optimised and more of material animations are visible.. just enables system tuner (by pressing and holding settings icon until it spins on the notification tray and removed the aeroplane ,mobile data and torch mode).. i didnt find the restore from old nexus option.. but i did get sync data via bluetooth from existing android device...nice
Can someone test if there is kind of the multiwindow feature that we saw in the M Previews?
I have installed it using the app flashfire beta by chainfire. Still booting up but since it shows the android m boot animation, looks like a success
Installed fine for me, booted in what felt like a normal amount of time.
Problems may have begun trying to root though.
Use NRT... first problem: it didn't actually copy the root files over so when it rebooted into TWRP they weren't there. I just rebooted and manually copied them over, then back into TWRP and I was able to install them. But, now I'm sitting here at the startup animation for about 10 minutes now, far longer than after initial install, so I'm starting to think boot loop.
I'll give it a few more minutes and then re-flash the system partition, should get it working again. NRT naturally doesn't know about this version yet, using the *.*.* option, but I'm starting to get the feeling root isn't straight-up on M. I'll repost if it happens to start up, but anyone else try rooting yet? If so, how'd it go for you?
EDIT: Another thread seems to support the conclusion that root isn't working yet, someone else had a boot loop too (something to do with stock recovery replacing TWRP and TWRP trying to save itself, or some such).

Yes, not enabled by default:
pull build.prop from recovery and change release from user to userdebug
push build.prop
chmod 644 build.prop
reboot device and find it in dev options under drawing
my 32gb nexus7 is showing only 16gb of space...
i see this in other users when lollipop is out...
Flashed insecure boot.img, flashed root = bootloop So I REPEAT ROOT DOES NOT WORK

In the comments there are people saying that they're doing this:
"Unlocked bootloader + Change flash script to remove -w = Never wait for OTA again"
What is the remove -w? Apparently it makes it so it doesn't wipe userdata. that would be helpful but how would one accomplish that?

You just edit the batch file (.bat) or shell script (.sh) that comes with the factory image download with a text editor and remove the '-w' part from the fastboot line.
Waiting to try it using Multiboot (zip image and root)
Looks like we are not getting root until google decides to release the source code, what a bummer...

Just reflash the recovery or flash stock. I can't, my pc doesn't recognize my s7 anymore.

I flashed the software from here and waited while it rebooted countless times id say about 10-20 times each time getting further and further until finally booted up. Be patient if i had stopped the process i wouldnt have a working rooted SGNE. The first thing i noticed different from other times iv flashed was it went straight into boot up and starting uprgrading android apps, then rebooted and started where it left off got a little further then rebooted again and so on and so forth until it was complete.I immediately made a backup and now have a working rooted SGNE.
