So after exhausting all options, I turn to the experts for help. I have a friend in the UK, who wanted to downgrade his Galaxy s5 g900f 5.0 to 4.4. He's familiar enough with basic odin/recovery use, but only vaguely.
He wanred to downgrade, so I had him flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 via Odin. All went well. I then had him make a full back up, boot, system, data etc. He has no sd card, so after the back up I had him move his entire internal storage (except the back up) to his pc. Then we downloaded OmegaDroid v13 (4.4) for the g900f. Flashing went as expected to start, did full wipe, flashed the zip (aroma installer). The two options for kernel choice with this ROM or stock kernel or Omega kernel. Flashing with stock kernel sends the phone into an infinite bootloop, flashing with the omega kernel never boots at all (black screen with blue led on, I had him leave it like this for an hour to make sure). So I told him to restore his back up until we can find another 4.4 to try. Well restore fails every time.
No problem, I thought, we can mount usb or use adb sideload. So I had him download CM 11. Had him boot to recovery and mount usb while connected to pc. The box wont check, just no response. So I got him to download adb and drivers, had him verify his isntall. The problem here is adb devices lists no device. Odin however can communicate with it.
Am I missing something. Is there a way to turn on USB debugging from twrp or the terminal in twrp? Or is there an odin flashable rooted 4.4 rom available for the g900f that anyone is aware of. My google searches have come up with no answers to these. 4.4 roms in general for this device are few and far between. Ive told him he may have no choice but to go and get a sd card, as this would make life much easier, but it still bothers me that adb cant see the device at all, yet odin can.
Thanks for help in advance.
my device is samsung s3 neo i9300i.recently i install twrp 2.7.1.0 and accidently delete all partitions and system and data.so now there are no os system.and i cant boot my phone.phone stucks on samsung logo.but i can boot into twrp recovery mod.then i decide to flash stock rom throgh twrp recovery but it fails and also try cm 12.1 official and unofficial it also fails.its showing no md5 file found.patching system image unconditionlly and updating partitions.so what can i do.i dont have pc.so give me solution which can i solve with twrp 2.7.1.0 .and one que. can i install noble rom 2.1 on this mobile in this situation?please help me......
I think you still need to find any PC with samsung drivers installed and Odin. Boot into download mode (vol down + power) and flash service firmware to recover partitions. Maybe exist any other solutions, but this, IMHO, is what you need to do.
After installing cm12.1, doesn't it boot?
Don't worry about the md5 file warning or patching system unconditionally. If you got no errors (other than what i mentioned here), it should boot fine.
in twrp there is an option of terminal command.but i dont know how to use it.when i click to open this terminal conmand then open systems folders and files and bottom line there is a option of select current folder.so how can i use it to flash rom with this.anyone have idea then please help me
I several times wiped everything at once through TWRP, then just restarted into recovery, copied .zip files for the ROM and gapps from a computer and flashed them, so can't really see where is the problem in your case. Doesn't the PC find your phone as a storage drive after wipe and restart?
yesterday i successfully install nobel rom 2.1 in my device.but now problem is i cant boot my phone.its showing samsung logo and then automatically going in download mod.before this installation i several time wipe every partitition and succedsfully install noble rom 2.1 but cant boot my phone.problem always there.please please help me
Maybe the problem is with the ROM and it's incompability with your phone. What if through Odin you flash a stock ROM from a computer in download mode and then try another custom ROM?
But of course first try to enter recovery and directly flash (another) working ROM, because going through stock with Odin takes much more time and nerves. Also, with Odin you have to be extremely careful to use the exact stock ROM for your device, so this is kind of a last-case scenario.
Plz check the rom u r downloaded is not corrupted

If you deleted ALL partitions, you have to flash Stock. If not, then just install something.

Yes of course you can. Flash whichever version you want. Just make sure it is only for your device s3 neo not any other Samsung phone. If you have solved the problem, then reply here and all moderator to close this thread.
Hit thanks of it helped!

When I boot (either from bootloader or OS) into TWRP it just hangs on the loading screen and never fully loads. I've left it for upwards of 10 minutes before restarting the phone. Is there any way for me to reflash a recovery image without a computer? I'm traveling and don't have access right now. I looked at TWRP manager but couldn't find my device so I didn't want to risk a brick by trying to install that way. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
my suggestion is
don't mess with it write now .
if your phone is working right now .
as u have pc available . try to reflash it

FLASHIFY app via Playstore can flash TWRP img files--just pick "recovery" for location of flashing. FLASHFIRE can too but not as user friendly.
don't mess with it while travelling
because if it will brick your device then you will be in trouble and it needs pc and other stuffs to flash clean rom

So it seems to be a problem with my external SD card. I flashed recovery but it wouldn't let me in so I started trouble shooting. When I take out the SD card it lets me in.
After this I tried reformatting the SD card as internal storage but it wouldn't let me...
Hi, all.
I accidently wiped the system partition of my Nexus 6P in TWRP. I have a Pure Nexus ROM and gapps on my computer, that I've been trying to flash via adb sideload. The sideloading goes successfully, and it seems like the ROM is flashed. But when I go to reboot, I get a warning from TWRP: "No OS Installed". How is there no OS installed when I've flashed a ROM? Isn't that the OS?
What steps should I take to unbrick my phone? Thanks in advance.
It sounds like you're only putting the image on your phone, only the first half of the resolution?
Either use USB to move the file over to the internal storage, or ADB push the file, and then use TWRP to flash the ROM as normal.
Hi all,
So many years ago I used to do this flashing the custom roms on my old galaxy s4, and it was pretty straight forward.
THis s8 though is giving me real problems.
I'm trying to flash lineage 19 on it but I just can't seem to do it. I have run into error messages, boot loops, apparently deleted the boot sector off after using TWRP which only worked once...
I have googled and googled but I can't find the exact guide for my phone. It's a UK phone.
I have managed to get a samsung rom back on it using Odin, but it's got so T roam option which doesn't do anything..
Please can someone help?
It should work like this:
1. Enable OEM-unlocking in the developer options
2. Download the no-verity-opt-encrypt rom (google it, you will find links) on an SD Card or if you can plug that in your phone on an USB Stick
3. Install twrp using odin ( you was able to do this, right?)
4. Boot into twrp (Do not boot in the os first, go to twrp directly after flashing it)
5. Go to wipe, tap on format data and type "yes" to format your data partition.
6. Flash the no-verity-opt-encrypt zip
7. You can now boot to the system. If you already have the install zip for Lineage, you can also flash this now before booting to the system.
8. Done
