Enter the following in an ADB shell or TWRP terminal
Code:
echo "SYSTEMLESS=true" > /data/.supersu
and reflash SU.

mmm...I don't remember which thread it was in, but I saw here where people with XT1572 had same WIFI problem as you and it was fixed by flashing NON-HLOS.bin.
Try full wipe, restore stock ROM, flash su 2.62 from Chainfire here and see what happens.
If that doesn't work, search through one of these threads and try PM one of the XT1572 users who was having same WIFI trouble as you.
Good luck!

WARNING! Bootloop with latest update (8MB) rooted 4.4.2 !

Let this be a warning, the latest update put my phone in a reboot loop. After trying to apply the update clockwordmod would come up on restart, installation would fail, couldn't see why, too fast, the phone would start up and after 15-20 sec it would shutdown to start all over again.
Don't know what update does as I have a french phone and all update messages come in french. I saw that USB on the go was mentioned and some other bug fixes.
TO FIX:
Enter fastbood mode (VOL DOWN+POWER)
From the PC enter:
fastboot erase cache
Can someone more knowledgeable say why the update fails?

Yes you do and no root
I had the same problem. You have to go back to latest stock rom before installing the update, and then rooting again. Worked fine for me.
See this guide for example : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219

With some experience there´s nothing easier than flash stock ROM. Or do it thrice a day if you feel like that

It works for whether or not your phone is rooted.
However, your bootloader should be UNLOCKED to be able to flash and use this on your phone.

If you want to keep all apps and settings, you can try NOT wiping the /data partition but STILL wipe the /cache and /dalvik-cache.

Help me rooting my G4 Plus on Nougat!

I was running Resurrection Remix (mm) until Nougat started rolling out. I flashed stock firmware(MM) and manually installed the Nougat update. That obviously voided my root access. Now, when I try to flash SuperSU, the device is not booting into the system and stays in the bootloader itself.
Anyone on Nougat who's rooted or anyone who has any idea what this is about, please help.

If you mean noverity and nocrypt, noverity means it disables dm-verity which allows you to modify /system and nocrypt is just no encryption for /system partition iirc.

As I mentioned above. Moreover you can flash UnSU and then root using Magisk. Magisk allows hiding root detection for Safetynet.

I unlocked the bootlader and rooted the phone before giving it to my wife. During that whole process, fastboot had no problems recognizing the phone (obviously). Then my wife tried to update via the OTA which got her stuck in TWRP. I'd like to reflash the stock ROM, but the problem I have is I can't use fastboot to do commands line by line (as shown in the link above) since "fastboot devices" doesn't show my phone anymore. I was able to get her going on a custom ROM for now, but I'd like to put her back on the stock ROM so we won't encounter this problem again. I've reinstalled the Motorola driver several times, but no luck. ADB has no problems recognizing the phone when in recovery. One thing that happened recently was a big update to Windows 10, but I'm not sure if that is the reason for my fastboot issues.
I intend to give it a go on another computer once I get the phone again from the wife, but any advice until then would be appreciated.
Thanks. I've installed a custom ROM but im not happy with the results (specially the poor camera performace). Will this "undo" everything? I mean, stock apps, stock widgets, etc etc? (don't care if the bootloader stays unlocked and the warning moto message while booting). I know this may be a stupid question, but like Homer would say: "it's my first day"

Just a follow up to my previous post, I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the Motorola driver and ADB on the original computer, but for some reason it still won't "see" the phone in fastboot. I was able to install ADB/Fastboot and the Motorola driver on a separate computer (also Windows 10) to get fastboot to recognize the phone so I could issue commands to reinstall the stock firmware. I noticed, though, that the following commands FAILED when I entered them:
fastboot erase customize
fastboot erase clogo
I'm not sure what those were for, but the phone seems to be working fine on the stock firmware now.
I flashed the one in the retail folder and it says ret-EU in the settings so flash that one

Why not trying to reflash the twrp(may try another one from official website or of silesh nair on his thread).
I think you might have turn on md5 checksum or another this which keeps verifying the zip and no signature is found.
Reflashing is a good course as it do not erase any data of yours.

If flashing recovery is problem, reflash stock rom w/ stock recovery n boot ans try again to flash twrp, might sovle the issue

Its power button followed by vol up, but hey that recovery ain't gonna help you. Im just saying you to reflash it as it will erase all the data of current twrp recovery which might interfere with another recovery(changes are negligible, but then too).
I gave you link to a 64-bit twrp made by dreamester and silesh nair. Try it and see if it works.
You can not flash stock ROM from TWRP or other custom recovery. You need a PC with Moto Drivers and fastboot tools installed. Then you have to flash the stock rom from fastboot (generally instructions are given inside rom zip in a file called 'flashfile.xml'). I can't say about flashing JX series ROM (maybe it needs you to be on stock first or something like that) but here are the files needed to install Motorola ADB and FASTBOOT drivers and ADB & FASTBOOT tools on windows pc:

I already have these installed! But when I run RDS and connect my phone in fastboot mode to the computer, RDS doesn't detect it in the program. I mean, the device doesn't show up in the boxes below. Stock recovery don't flash roms, thats why we use customs recovery. As he mentioned just flash the stock rom, enable usb debugging and oem unlocked. Just flash the files and again flash the recovery which ever suits you and thats it.
Note : take backup first as it wipes your internal storage.

Go into bootloader and then flash the file linked below from computer.
Note : usb debugging is must.

I think reflashing the stock rom is the only thing to do. Read carefully whatever is written in that thread. And see if all the commands are properly exicuted.
I dont know any work around for sim as i have never had that issue. Tell me if its solved or not for just a bit of knowledge.
Edit : just for reference you are not using moto g4 play device, are you?
Standard ROM and recovery cannot be flashed by TWRP, only in fastboot mode.
