Bug 4G vs. 3G (Elephone P9000)
I can't receive calls when I have activated the 4G but when I'm going to make a call the phone automatically switches from 4G to 3G.
I know that the solution is to put the phone in 3G, but,
Why The Elephone P9000 can not automatically change from 4G to 3G when he receives calls?
Version: P9000_Android 6.0_20160315
Hello,
I have my elephone since 2 days with the last update.
Except the camera, everything is fine: The camera take very dark pictures, and with a strong blurry effect.
Note: the Bluetooth consumes a lot of battery compared to my previous smartphone.
Version: P9000_Android 6.0_20160315
After a couple of days with the newest update the fingerprint scanner isn't as good. The original was accurate but not fast. Now it isn't fast or accurate. It works 60-70% of the time. I took it off. Switching phones for a couple of days. I'm not giving up on it as it has great promise, just waiting for next update to try again.

You can try to set the factory set again after OTA, so the system will record your fingerprint date, try it, friend.

when your call is on, it will change to 3G, and after you finish your call, it will change to 4G again, because it's only support 2G call network.
Do you mean you can't receive call when the phone is in 4g?

When I have 4g on, I can't receive calls and receive them as SMS. But if I call someone the phone automatically switches from 4G to 3G, and this works perfectly.
The problem is when I receive calls.
I've noticed that when someone calls me on the phone is changing from 4G to 3G but this fails to take the call.

Aw, thank you. I do recall that it stated that it the update notes. I took that to mean if it didn't work completely, ha. I am going to try that today.

Headphones too loud even at the lowest level
Hello
The lowest headphones volume is too loud, I can't listen music with this phone. If I set the volume to a lower level, it's mutted.
==> I fixed it with the *#3646633# code
Unknow number!!
When I make a call by choosing a friend from the phone book, the name and number appear regularly. When the friend answer the call, P9000 does not show the number and name, but only 'unknown'. When the call is over, the call log shows 'unknown'. This happens with the sim 3 ITA, not with other sim. This sim 3 ITA in other phones operate normally. This is a very very annoying bug. Can it be solved?
For the rest, P9000 is a very nice smartphone.

3 ITA is a sim of '3' operator in Italy. I'm from Italy. The same sim, in other phone, is ok. Every person I call, when answers, on P9000 display, the number (or name, if the person is in my phone book) swith to 'unknown'.....So, my call log is full of 'unknown'...and I don't remember my calls.....

Let me elaborate:
Stock Headphone is connected.
Scenario 1: Phone is in sleep mode: Call rings but not in headphone but speakers.
Scenario 2: Phone is active, songs playing in Mediascape: Call rings but not in headphone but speakers. Music gets stop but rings from speakers and not from headphones.
Scenario 3: Phone is active, on normal desktop: Calls Call rings but not in headphone but speakers.
NOTE: In all the three scenarios, If I decline the call, either from Power, or Decline button, sound returns for a moment. I think it has got something to do with some process.....
Except when call comes, Headphones do work.
Only one task killer running, double checked TimeScape is running.
Rooted new Firmware 020. Everything works in stock.
Note: I have already missed 6 important calls today, one being from my Boss. :-(
Same Prob
Ive got exactly the same problem, except that my phone isnt rooted...have updated to the latest update ...but only had the phone a few days nobody called me b4 the update so cant confirm if the problem was the same for then!.
Dan
Think this is an issue with the latest firmware and not the actual root process.
Maybe R2BA023 has fixed this? Or R2BA025? As se has suddenly released several updates at once when it usually takes them months!!

Then it must be the firmware. Will wait for new one. As crackling noise is still there in ongoing call. Other party hears this not us.
I hope u guys are working on this.

I hope they'll fix this real soon, it is kinda annoy when my music mute every time when someone call,
If you're using x10a, don't flash to 023!! Headphones won't work, period.

On 026, still have a problem
Hi I've been having this problem for a while. I'm on an X10i. I think it started when I was updated to 023. Nonetheless, I'm on 026 now and I still am experiencing the problem.
Don't know if rooting it would help. I am currently not rooted. I think I read somewhere in the developer discussions that it has something to do with the kernel, but I'm not at the level where I understand that.
I can confirm I am having the same problem before and after the generic 026 upgrade.
My x10i is not rooted.
do you think if I factory reset the phone it will sort this problem out?
I've thought about it too. i don't think it would hurt any. As SEUS or PC companion could always update us back to the current version out there for us: 026
haven't had time to factory reset the phone yet...in the mean time has anyone managed to find a solution to this?
hey at least something is ringing for you.
for me when someone calls it shows that someone is calling but the ringer does not go off. NO SOUND. OR when someone calls me repeatedly the ringer still doesn't go off.
out of 10 calls 3 would be like that. And surprisingly its all important calls. I think my X10 hates me or something. I was lucky to have my phone near ONCE where i saw the screen flash and it was my job interview.
After I upgraded to 2.1 (generic UK) this problem has gone...and when I get a call, the phone will ring in my headphones as well as on the phone.
Yea....happy days...
Same is not applicable in world firmware. Oops rechecked it works.

Hello to all of you,
I am new the forum and I got my Omnia 7 just about 2 weeks ago. I really like it because of the excellent screen and build quality.
I also like the smooth and sleek feeling of Windows Phone 7.
However, I had regular issues during calls.
During about a third of my calls (including incoming and outgoing calls), I was not able to hear anything at some point during the conversation. The person called or the person who called me could also not hear me anymore.
The phone seems to work (no freeze) and the signal was ok. Turning the speaker on did not help.
Moreover, when I stopped calling and called back everything was fine and working again.
Sometimes it happened already when I picked up a call, sometimes after just a few words and sometimes in the middle of a longer conversation.
It seems to be random but regular, since about one out of three of my calls was interrupted.
It is really annoying and the phone is therefore going back.
However, I really liked the Omnia 7 and I would get another one, if the unit I got was just faulty.
So I would like to ask other Omnia 7 users if you have experienced a similar behavior of your Omnias during calls? Was my unit faulty or is it a general issue?
I would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you in advance.
Does really no one want to comment about how his Omnia 7 handles calls?
I would really appreciate your feedback, even simply stating your Omnia 7 works fine without any mic ans speaker issue.
I thus just added a poll to the thread, so that it becomes even easier to give some feedback.
Thanks in advance for your input.
Same with me on my Omnia 7 - A1 Telekom Austria
Spoke to Samsung but they were not able to help me out but sending me a contact info to a service partner (Extreme Communication in Vienna, btw)
Service Partner told me that there are issues with the Omnia 7 (amplitude control) and I should send my device to them...
As were are having the same troubles on approx 20 devices (95% of handed out devices) I have to check if repairing is an option (warranty from our provider)
will post later, if I have my device back...
No problems here, I've had an Omnia7 16GB since early February. It was unbranded about a week after I received it. No one I've heard of has had such issues but one who complains of "modem-like" sounds for him and the other part prior to missing a call. He also reported this happening every third time or so...

having modem-sounds (or robot sounds) as well
and it's not only me - my co-workers have the same issues
but there are more issues:
it's annoying that my Omnia 7 (8gb version) is hardly able to receive calls at the first time (approx 75% of the incoming calls) - if I call back, most of the time it seems to be ok
these problems do not only affect my device, but about 95% of Omnia 7 we handed out to our co-workers
I had the chance to test a HTC 7 Trophy - none of the errors I have on my Omnia happened on the Trophy!
I have the same issue, using T-mobile in the netherlands, I just always assumed it was them.
I've noticed this only happens on 3G and 3G+ networks, if i turn off data and use the normal G network, I don't get call problems, which why I assumed it was t-mobile.
I'm having the same issue on most of my calls. In the beginning I thought it was a network issue. Haven't been able to figure out how to fix it so far. Will call Samsung support.
Has anyone here updated their ROM to the latest XENJK from samfirmwares.com? I had issues with the mic going silent during calls til I upgraded to that

Thanks for your comments so far...
At least I am not alone with this issue...
I am now really wondering if this could be a software/ROM/firmware issue given Blade0rz comment...
How can I check the firmware/ROM on the Omnia 7?...my Omnia 7 is unbranded from Germany and the "About" section in the settings of my Omnia 7 does not give any info on a build or version number...does anyone know?
@simon marktl:thanks for your feedback...actually 19 faulty units out of 20 sounds quite bad...I would be pleased if you could let us know if the service point could resolve the issue and especially how they did it once you get your device back...
@eqzgkxokwa: I would be pleased if you could let us know about the solution proposed by the Samsung support...thanks (by the way eqzgkxokwa, that´s a tricky nickname )
@ Phyx and leoms17: I actually use the 2G network 99.9% of the time...but as explained I have the issue regularly....so it is not limited to 3G or 3G+...but if 3G off helps for you it just makes the issue even more curious...I do not think it is due to the network, rather something is going on with the phone...
in diagnostic screen hit *#1234# you'll get all your info. Firmware ending in JK1 is the latest.
Thanks leoms17...I may sound stupid but how do I actually get in the "diagnostic screen"?...I did not find it in the menu, so I assume there is some trick...actually I do not want to brick the phone or do something wrong...
Is there no possibility to get a simple info about the firmware without using a crazy code?
also have this issue, assumed it was a poor signal or something like the death grip. Does not seem to make a difference whether im being called or place the call myself.
I got it several times, suddenly it just goes silent. Holding the phone away from the ear so the diplsay turns on seems to make it work again but not for very long.
I had the original T-mobile Germany branded firmware I8700DTMJJ6, updated to JK1 yesterday, but did not test if its fixed now.
One final idea would be to play around with the volume settings in diag mode, increasing volume for incoming calls or something.
Btw, did anyone notice that there is absolutely no background noise during a call, even if the person is in a noisy environment?

I've had this issue with my Omnia 7 (T-Mobile US) as well. There were a couple instances where I answered a call and was not able to hear the person on the other end.

I had this issues with the original firmware from my provider (I8700XXJJ3)
and I still have them with
Phone I8700XXJK1
PDA I8700XXJK1
CSC I8700XENJK1
Software on Phone itself is 7.0.7008.0, no NoDo available yet
Maybe the new firmware I8700XXKA1 (January) helps out - but I wasn't able to download it anywhere
Same issues here
I have issues with both modem/robot-calls but lately it's gone from 1/3 of the calls beeing robot to 3/4 of the calls loosing all sound after 20-60 seconds. Robotic cals are not as common. For me I have problem only when I receive calls and never when I make the call.
I have had my Omnia in for service a month ago but the short message from them was that they found no problems. They upgraded the firmware to the latest version but I still have issues as stated above.
My radio hardware version is
0.0.0.2
I have seen posts where radio hardware is much higher. Can the problem be related to old radio hardware?
I am hoping nodo and new firmware from Samsung will fix this but so far I havn't got it.
I think I'll go for this phone. Coming from s5 dual. I need a longer battery life and a bit larger screen also 32GB on board needed.
And of course dual sim variant
- can someone test call recording pls? Does the phone record both sides from both SIMs?
- Ill get it from India, would it be working in the UK with Three?
- anything I need to know before buying this device, folks?
Thanks,
I don't often make calls but did test call recording and it was able to record both sides. Since I have the single SIM version I can't confirm that it works on both SIM (or will keep working in a future update).
You might also want to know that the phone has no gyroscope meaning no photo spheres and no VR on this.
If the phone is unlocked it should work in the UK. I believe the UK model is the XT1562, India is probably XT1563. Only difference is that XT1563 supports more LTE bands.
The Indian variant is XT1562 as well. Ideally, it should support the same bands. It's a pretty darn decent device for the price tag. Go for it!

No it doesnt, but you can install a kernel for that! So in practice YES it have, but with stock rom NO.
Hello, can anyone confirm if this device has some throttling issue?
I have seen quite a few reviews in YouTube and almost all of them stated the issue's presence.
And if there is such issue can it be fixed with the Squid's Kernel?
If There's no issue or even if there is and have been fixed, I will gladly buy this device.
Thanks in advance.

Though it would be nice to consolidate any issues we have or potential bugs as well as possible solutions in one place.
Here is what I have found in a little over 24 hours.
1. Can't change lock screen wallpaper. Changes just won't take.
2. In settings>security>smart lock>trusted paces everytime I tap on "add a trusted place" I get a pop up stating "Unfortunately, Google Play services has stopped"
3. There apears to be no direct way to block numbers from the dialer or contacts like on my Nexus 6P

I haven't played with the camera, so comment on possible issues. Will do so this weekend.
I also just noticed my wallpaper doesn't scroll (it scrolls fine on my Nexus 6P and LG G5).
Weak cell signal.
May security patch
Weak low light camera.
I'm sure those can be fixed to some extent with a software update.
